Book The Little Corona King

Download or read book The Little Corona King written by Ellie Jackson and published by Under Pressure Media Limited. This book was released on 2020-03-03 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An ebook explaining the coronavirus to primary and preschool children in a gentle and positive way with a happy ending and extra resources. Written by a teacher and mother of four, this book will put the coronavirus into context for young children. The Little Corona King is a children's book aimed at primary and preschool children to help explain to them about the coronavirus in a gentle and positive way. The book is written by Number 1 bestselling children's author Ellie Jackson, author of the true Wild Tribe Heroes series of books about ocean plastic, palm oil and climate change. Her books are highly acclaimed and have reached over a million children so far and Ellie is used to writing about real global issues without overwhelming or scaring children. Ellie is a mother of four young children under 10 and has a background as a teacher both of which have given her experience in pitching her books at the right level so as to promote discussion, engage and inspire children to get involved in helping make a difference. The Little Corona King was born out of a growing global concern for the impact of the coronavirus on all of us as well as understanding that parents and teachers need to explain new ideas to their children in a positive way about how to tackle the virus. Writing and illustrating the book has taken place over the course of 4 days and is the first children's book in the world that is discussing the coronavirus. It includes relevant, up to date information taken from reliable government websites such as the NHS and the story can be amended as more developments occur. This book is not a scaremongering tactic nor is it wanting people to panic. It is a tool for parents to use to engage their children with simple health practices such as hand washing, changing routines or habits, reasons why things are different, helping them adjust to school closures or self-isolation if needed etc although some of these are left deliberately vague so as to encourage normality as much as possible.

Book excerpt: Cruel. Heartless. Quarantined. The ruthless boys of Everlake Prep never saw lockdown coming. But the virus isn't their number one enemy.I am. And as if being confined to a boarding school for the elite wasn't bad enough, now I'm stuck in isolation with the boys who hate me most too. Saint, Kyan and Blake. The Night Keepers. Or so they call themselves. They've embodied the Native American legend which lives in this valley, taking on the role of the monsters who lurk in the forest. And though they act like beasts, they may also be the most tempting creatures I've ever seen. With the virus escalating and my dad's name splashed through the news, my entire world is falling apart. What he did has cast a dark shadow over me. And the Night Keepers want to make me pay for his crimes. Then things went from bad to worse when I touched the sacred rock. A rock which supposedly holds a curse to bind me as the Night Keepers' slave. And as crazy as it sounds, I decided to play along. Because there are things about me they don't know. Things my dad has hidden from me for years. All I can be sure of is that I have to find a way to escape this school. But until then, those savage boys are making my life a living hell. As the virus sweeps through the country and the world twists into something ugly and unknown, the kings of this school become true monarchs. Even the teachers bow to them now. And I'm kinda glad about that 'stay six feet away from one another' rule, because without it, I know they'd rip me apart. At least there's a silver lining. I'm cosying up to Coach Monroe. My hot as hell, brooding P.E. teacher who has a vendetta of his own against the Night Keepers. And with his help, I may succeed at doing more than escaping the clutches of these heartless fiends. I might even destroy them along the way. My father taught me how to be strong. How to prepare for the end of the world. So this isn't going to be the end of my world, mark my words. But if I'm able to use my mind and body to bring these assholes to their knees, it might just be the end of theirs. This is a high school bully romance series where the main character will end up with more than one love interest. It may have triggers for some as it has off the charts angst, dark love-hate themes, scenes of intense bullying and some violence (not aimed towards the main character) and is not for the faint of heart. Prepare to enrol at Everlake Prep. Bring your hand sanitiser, face masks and toilet paper to barter with, but don't expect to hold onto them for long. Because it's time to go into quarantine with the Night Keepers. And everything you own now belongs to them.

Book excerpt: It was the Celtic bards who laid down the foundation of inner wisdom that has come down to us as Arthurian legend, passing their traditions to the Arthurian romancers of the 12th and 13th centuries. Thus the Celts provide an immediate bridge that leads to a very ancient world. Focusing on the Brythonic Celtic material and the "Taliesin" cult whose lineage preserved the mysteries through the Mabinogion and other texts, Awen: the Quest of the Celtic Mysteries reveals the sources of the British sacred tradition right back to the Neolithic and Bronze Ages, and, as some believe, further back still to even more ancient sources. Awen is a Welsh word often translated as "inspiration". However, in its fullness it has a much deeper meaning, an irradiation of the soul from paradisal origins. In the context of the Celtic folk-soul it casts the paradisal pattern by which the people and the land were harmonised. Through the aligned symbolism of the goddess, the sacred king and the stars, a compelling picture is built of a thriving mystery tradition which marries the constellations to the landscape, exploring as an example the interwoven five-fold and seven-fold stellar geometry of Moel ty Uchaf stone circle in North Wales, and the stellar alignments on the landscape of Cadair Idris.
