Download or read book The Lion Hearted Soul written by Gargi Arya and published by . This book was released on 2020-09-16 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Through my book, I want my people to know about the importance of their beautiful and adventurous lives which they end up due to some kind of problems in their life or they destroy it. These problems can be relationship issues, getting threats from someone, due to some kind of addiction or psychological disorders. There are two kinds of people -- Strong and weak. The strong pass the adventure but the weak gets lost in the adventure of life and we all know the result that is SUICIDE! I have heard a lot that usually when people don't find any way, they commit suicide not knowing that it's not the solution. The only solution to their problems is Struggle! After all we know that struggles makes a man better. Some people are in a hurry and they always say that we have limited time on this earth, what we can do in it? But they don't even think of that if their time is limited, they should enjoy in that time only. They should make each and every single moment of their life to be counted on this earth. Most say ' I can only be happy if I have XYZ in my life' not knowing that they are complete in themselves. They don't need anybody to complete them. I don't want my people to be coward, i want them to be brave just like a lion! The lion is courageous, he is very bold. He believes any opportunity is worth giving a try and never lets it slip from his hands. The lion is like a miracle in this world, as he is ready to face every gordian knot. So, the main purpose of my book is to let my people know that this all is a part of their amazing journey, and they should face every circumstance with courage and strength. And to let them know that life will not follow our way, we have to follow it's path and most importantly, we have to accept the way it goes. We should remember that all we need is a strong mindset.

Book excerpt: Acclaimed author James Reston, Jr.'s Warriors of God is the rich and engaging account of the Third Crusade (1187-1192), a conflict that would shape world history for centuries and which can still be felt in the Middle East and throughout the world today. James Reston, Jr. offers a gripping narrative of the epic battle that left Jerusalem in Muslim hands until the twentieth century, bringing an objective perspective to the gallantry, greed, and religious fervor that fueled the bloody clash between Christians and Muslims. As he recounts this rousing story, Reston brings to life the two legendary figures who led their armies against each other. He offers compelling portraits of Saladin, the wise and highly cultured leader who created a united empire, and Richard the Lionheart, the romantic personification of chivalry who emerges here in his full complexity and contradictions. From its riveting scenes of blood-soaked battles to its pageant of fascinating, larger-than-life characters, Warriors of God is essential history, history that helps us understand today's world.

Download or read book OPEN BOOK OF THE LION HEARTED written by Andy Linburgh and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2023-06-25 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Open Book of the lion-hearted is the title of the book. The opening statement is validated many times with incident, example and often forgiving magnanimity in what is clearly a Vincentian literary keepsake, to which Vincentians of every origin, race, and position can relate to. As the opening quote suggests, the traits of perseverance, and integrity, set in an often-troubled depiction of Caribbean life, are balanced with a sense of humour and dignified clarity, spiced with specific details of life, culture, history, sociology, spanning five decades. It also offers much insight into the medical profession (right down to terminology and examples) here in the Caribbean from SVG to Cuba. I have seldom read a literary work abounding with as much relevant Caribbean (Vincentian) detail as in this book. - Colin King Journals (first published in the Searchlight Newspaper)

Book excerpt: In I Know You Got Soul, Jeremy Clarkson writes about the machines that he believes have 'soul'. It will come as no surprise to anyone that Jeremy Clarkson loves machines. But it's not just any old bucket of blots, cogs and bearings that rings his bell. In fact, he's scoured the length and breadth of the land, plunged into the oceans and taken to the skies in search of machines with that elusive certain something. And along the way he's discovered: * The safest place to be in the event of nuclear war * Who would win if Superman, James Bond and The Terminator had a fight * The stupidest person he's ever met * What an old Cornish institution called Arthur has to do with 0898 chat lines * And how Jean Claude Van Damme might get eaten by a lion . . . In I Know You Got Soul, Jeremy Clarkson tells stories of the geniuses, innovators and crackpots who put the ghost in the machine. From Brunel's SS Great Britain to the awesome Blackbird spy-plane and from the woeful - but inspiring - Graf Zeppelin to Han Solo's Millennium Falcon, they can't help but love them in return. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stories are fascinating little bits of history that play out in several ways. Sometimes they are reflected as kaleidoscopic refractions that catch one’s attention fleetingly and at other times a string of experiences that stay forever. Long forgotten dreams, is an endeavour to showcase the alluring tug that I always felt especially as a child which unfolds even today when a story either stirs my soul, gets me thinking or takes me on intriguing flights of fancy. Punctuating these experiences was the persistent urge to share the ‘feeling of feeling a story’. A good story strikes like a bolt of lightning, yanking one out of eons of slumber, or perhaps light as a feather it leaves an imprint that surfaces every now and then. Reminiscing and retracting: reimagining and refurbishing is the bedrock of all the stories in this collection of Long forgotten Dreams ensuring that the reader reaches a destination of choice as they maneuver through its intrepid pages. Life is more often than not a Catch 22 situation: therefore 22 short stories have been carefully written, shaped and culled out of the threads intricately entwined in my heart and mind; each unique and independent in its own way yet with a very distinct thread running through them: holding all the independent and fiercely different characters together; sometimes places calling out loud and clear, sometimes just subtly making sure the reader notices the change, the fluttering heart, the quietude of a moment and the solemn and surreal, woven like an elaborate flying silk carpet that touches the clouds, bounces upon the rainbow and quietly sails away…

Book excerpt: The 16th volume in the popular high-seas nautical adventure series featuring naval hero Thomas Kydd. The greatest naval trial in the Georgian period is underway at Portsmouth with the court-martial of Sir Home Popham, Captain Sir Thomas Kydd’s commanding officer in the doomed occupation of Buenos Aires. Kydd has sympathy for Popham’s unauthorized action but his support for his former commander leaves him athwart some very influential people in the Admiralty. With his frigate L'Aurore unfit for sea, Kydd is given a new commission that his rivals hope will destroy his career. The Tyger's have recently mutinied, but instead of dispersing her company around the fleet as is customary, the ship is pressed into immediate service in the North Sea and Kydd faces a crew still under some malign influence. Enemies aboard and on the high seas are just the start of the problem. Soon he will have to take his untested and untrustworthy crew into the Baltic, where they will find themselves entangled with Napoleon’s invasion of Prussia. The stakes are desperate, the task seemingly impossible, and the French implacable. The only way for Kydd to avoid disgrace is to gamble his reputation and crew on a crazy mission to snatch a Prussian division out of the jaws of Napoleon’s advancing army. Will he return home once more a hero or face a court-martial himself?
