Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many people today are searching for a healing modality that addresses the totality of their being, not just the physical body alone. To be unified and balanced in body, mind, and spirit, is to be whole, in Oneness, and living their lives in joy, happiness, and peace. It is in this state of Oneness where they experience optimal health and well-being, and express the fullness of their true nature. They remember all they were intended to be as an eternal spiritual being in human form. The Light Alliance Energy Centers Openings and Healing Modality addresses, unifies, and balances every aspect of our being, enabling us to achieve the optimal health and well-being attainable at this stage of our evolutionary development. This is holistic healing. Its benefits are for everyone. While it is simple and easy to learn, the application of Universal Life Force Energy, or ULFE, throughout the energy centers openings and healing modality session can produce extraordinary results. The text covers, in detail, each phase of the modality. The hand positions are accompanied by illustrations that enable them to be quickly and easily learned. The universal application of life force energy will enhance the health and well-being of those who experience it. The first section of the book provides background material to establish a foundation of knowledge. This is a spiritual approach to health and well-being. We discuss the benefits of approaching this subject from the universal viewpoint of the spirit rather than just the limited viewpoint of the physical aspect of our being. We discuss the Awakening, or the shift in our consciousness from being influenced and directed by our ego to being influenced and directed by our spirit. This modality encompasses the totality of who we are, not just the physical body alone. To unify the body with the mind and the spirit is to become whole and balanced in each aspect of our being. This unification opens the door to experiencing our optimal health and well-being. By understanding Universal Life Force Energy, or ULFE, we comprehend who we truly are and the unlimited potential that its application can have for us to be able to live joyful, happy, healthy lives. We also discuss what the energy centers and meridians are, what they do, and how they are cleansed of lower frequency energies associated with illnesses and the disharmony so often experienced in our lives, both within and without. Principal and additional sources of ULFE are explained, in depth, to further establish an understanding of the energy, and its availability to us, as we grow in our knowledge of it. This is the natural outcome that we experience as we more fully comprehend what the energy is doing throughout each phase of the energy centers openings and healing modality. Before we begin our discussions pertaining to the actual sessions, an overview is presented to provide a framework to be filled in by the chapters to follow. The three phases of the program, the Questionnaire, The Energy Centers Openings, and The Healing Modality, fill in and complete the framework established during the overview. All the energy centers and hand positions for the energy centers openings and healing modality are sequentially presented in the illustrations chapter. Advanced methods of applying the energy broaden our understanding of its use in particular circumstances where condensed energy is to be pinpointed or delivered to a recipient at a physical distance from where the practitioner resides. For those who desire to conduct the modality, we provide a chapter that introduces each of the three levels of certification. Course curriculum, minimum requirements, and educational prerequisites are listed for those who have an interest in advancing their knowledge and become actively involved with conducting the modality for the benefit of others, as well as themselves. These are the Practitioner One and Practitioner Two levels. For those who desire to

Book excerpt: On 30 January 1933, Alfred Hugenberg's conservative German National People's Party (DNVP) formed a coalition government with the Nazi Party, thus enabling Hitler to accede to the chancellorship. This book analyzes in detail the complicated relationship between Conservatives and Nazis and offers a re-interpretation of the Nazi seizure of power - the decisive months between 30 January and 14 July 1933. The Machtergreifung is characterized here as a period of all-pervasive violence and lawlessness with incessant conflicts between Nazis and German Nationals and Nazi attacks on the conservative Bürgertum, a far cry from the traditional depiction of the takeover as a relatively bloodless, virtually sterile assumption of power by one vast impersonal apparatus wresting control from another. The author scrutinizes the revolutionary character of the Nazi seizure of power, the Nazis' attacks on the conservative Bürgertum and its values, and National Socialism's co-optation of conservative symbols of state power to serve radically new goals, while addressing the issue of why the DNVP was complicit in this and paradoxically participated in eroding the foundations of its very own principles and bases of support.

Book excerpt: In New York Times-bestselling science fiction epic Out of the Dark, Earth beat back an alien invasion. Now we've got to make sure they don't come back, in Into the Light. The Shongairi conquered Earth. In mere minutes, half the human race died, and our cities lay in shattered ruins. But the Shongairi didn’t expect the survivors’ tenacity. And, crucially, they didn’t know that Earth harbored two species of intelligent, tool-using bipeds. One of them was us. The other, long-lived and lethal, was hiding in the mountains of eastern Europe, the subject of fantasy and legend. When they emerged and made alliance with humankind, the invading aliens didn’t stand a chance. Now Earth is once again ours. Aided by the advanced tech the aliens left behind, we’re rebuilding as fast as we can. Meanwhile, a select few of our blood-drinking immortals are on their way to the Shongairi homeworld, having commandeered one of the alien starships...the planet-busting kind. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: They left in the middle of the night—often carrying little more than the knowledge to follow the North Star. Between 1830 and the end of the Civil War in 1865, an estimated one hundred thousand slaves became passengers on the Underground Railroad, a journey of untold hardship, in search of freedom. In Through Darkness to Light: Photographs Along the Underground Railroad, Jeanine Michna-Bales presents a remarkable series of images following a route from the cotton plantations of central Louisiana, through the cypress swamps of Mississippi and the plains of Indiana, north to the Canadian border— a path of nearly fourteen hundred miles. The culmination of a ten-year research quest, Through Darkness to Light imagines a journey along the Underground Railroad as it might have appeared to any freedom seeker. Framing the powerful visual narrative is an introduction by Michna-Bales; a foreword by noted politician, pastor, and civil rights activist Andrew J. Young; and essays by Fergus M. Bordewich, Robert F. Darden, and Eric R. Jackson.

Download or read book Towards an Integrative Approach to Alliance Failure written by Jan-Philipp Büchler and published by diplom.de. This book was released on 2006-02-06 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: The past decade has seen increased academic interest in strategic alliances because alliances have developed to a centerpiece of corporate strategy. The number of newly formed alliances has been growing at more than 25 percent annually throughout the last decade and most large companies have at least 30 alliances; many have more than 100 in their alliance portfolio. According to empirical studies about 90 percent of the questioned companies are embedded in one or more alliances, which seem to be proliferating with increasing competition and globalization. Yet despite the ubiquity of strategic alliances, reality shows that many alliances fail. They do not meet the goals of the parent companies and fall short of expectation for different reasons i.e. alliances do not perform as intended. Empirical researchers find that between 30 percent and 70 percent of alliances fail. However, there is neither a comprehensiv understanding of alliance failure and success nor a managerial framework that would allow to improve alliance performance. Although a number of theoretical approaches as well as empirical studies have developed possible answers for the understanding of alliance failure by examining single factors, the review of the existing literature and investigation into the different theories shows that the reasoning is of a narrow view. To date, researchers mostly pay attention to individual aspects, but do not hold a holistic perspective. Most studies attribute failure to a wide range of factors including cultural, technical, financial, structural, and strategic aspects. The identified factors are neither wrong nor right but based on different assumptions and views that still remain unclassified, unstructured and incomparable. Due to overlaps, imprecise terms and a missing conceptual framework, the outcome is very limited in terms of explanation of alliance failure and success. Thus, the literature on alliance failure does not provide an adequate view of the interdependence and system of the identified factors. Furthermore, researchers have not developed a multidimensional and systematic framework for the analysis of alliance failure and success so far. The importance of the interdependence amongst different alliance failure factors is not reflected in the existing literature. Due to the high rate of failure of strategic alliances and the lack of a systematic and coherent understanding of the influencing factors of failure, [...]
