Bossert and published by World Health Organization. This book was released on 2007-12-15 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains a method for assessing the financial educational and management systems and policy context essential for strategic planning and policy-development for human resources for health. This tool has been developed as an evidence-based comprehensive diagnostic aid to inform policy-making in low and middle income countries in regards to human resources for health. It does so in three stages by assessing the current status of the health workforce and capacities for health workforce policy implementation with a particular focus on four aspects - finance education management and policy-making; by identifying priority requirements and actions based on the current status of the health workforce and by showing how to sequence policies and draw up a prioritized action plan for human resources for health. This tool is designed as an initial diagnostic instrument to be used in a process of developing a national strategic plan on human resources for health. It helps to provide a rapid initial assessment and a preliminary strategic plan as part of a longer-term and sustained process of human resources planning. It is not intended to assess the appropriateness of a workforce's skills mix or the technical quality of pre-service curricula which are the subjects of several other assessment tools. Rather it focuses on determining - and providing sequenced recommendations to improve upon- system capacities to increase the effectiveness of the health workforce.

In particular, it looks at the role that the private sector can play in improving standards through investments in education and training.

Book An Introduction to Human Resource Management

Download or read book An Introduction to Human Resource Management written by Nick Wilton and published by SAGE. This book was released on 2016-04-30 with total page 521 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Get 12 months FREE access to an interactive eBook when purchasing the paperback* Reflecting the global nature of the workplace with its use of real world examples and case studies, Nick Wilton’s book is not another ′How to′ of HRM in practice, but goes beyond the prescriptive approach to the practice of strategic HRM and encourages critical reflection to prepare students for the issues and dilemmas they could face in their careers. Providing an introduction to the management of people in work organizations, it seeks to outline the purpose and operation of HRM activities in the ′real world′, whilst situating practice in the context of associated debates and controversies played out in the parallel field of academic study. It adopts a critical perspective on the study and practice of HRM to provide the reader with an understanding not only of the potential for HRM to contribute to both improved organizational performance and individual well-being in the workplace, but also why it very often fails to achieve either of these positive outcomes and suggests that the management of people is not the exclusive preserve of HR specialists, but an area of interest or concern for all organizational actors. The new edition comes packed with features that encourage readers to engage and relate theory to practice including: - Management skills and attributes boxes outlining the required competencies of line managers and HR practitioners - HR in practice boxes illustrating how HRM theory works in real world practice - Ethical insights presenting ethical considerations for budding practitioners - Global insights highlighting practices around the world - Research insights inviting students to explore further academic research - Case Studies and Examples offering a more in-depth look at HRM across a variety of organizations - A free interactive eBook* featuring author videos, web-links interactive multiple choice questions, free SAGE journal articles, extended case studies and other relevant links, allowing access on the go and encouraging learning and retention whatever the reading or learning style. Aimed at students across the academic spectrum, whether studying on a specialist HRM or CIPD program of study, a generalist business and management programme or studying HRM as part of a programme in an unrelated discipline (such as engineering or humanities). *Interactivity only available through Vitalsource eBook included as part of paperback product (ISBN 9781473954199). Book Human Resource Development and Training Strategies

Download or read book Human Resource Development and Training Strategies written by European Commission. Directorate-General XXII, Education, Training, and Youth and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The EUROTECNET program has been refocused to concentrate more on continuing vocational education as the area of greatest need across the European Community. Four priority fields or domains of innovative activity have been defined for the final 2 years of EUROTECNET. Priority domain 1 is innovative training needs analysis with a special focus on core competencies. A Europe-wide proposed classification categorizes technical, methodological, social, and behavioristic core competencies. Priority domain 2 is transfer of innovative methodologies for the planning and management of training in the framework of human resources development. The company as a learning organization is proposed, with changing roles of managers and workers and an increased role of the social partners in supporting the learning organization. Priority domain 3 is training providers as innovative service centers for enterprises. Requirements are systematic continuing training of employees in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and a new "training consultancy" approach between training institutions and SMEs. Priority domain 4 is innovative pedagogical methodologies and approaches. Trends in this area are as follows: learning situations closely related to work situations; independence and responsibility of individuals; involvement of all actors in training; and a continuous learning process. Training systems must include partnerships with industry, paradigmatic changes, and a lifelong learning continuum. (Appendices list EUROTECNET national strategic conferences and 49 publications.) Book Competitiveness and Private Sector Development Western Balkans Competitiveness Outlook 2024 Albania

Download or read book Competitiveness and Private Sector Development Western Balkans Competitiveness Outlook 2024 Albania written by OECD and published by OECD Publishing. This book was released on 2024-06-26 with total page 251 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inclusive and sustainable economic growth in the six Western Balkan (WB6) economies depends on greater economic competitiveness. Although the gap is closing gradually, the standards of living in WB6 are well below those of the OECD and EU. Accelerating the rate of socio-economic convergence will require a holistic and growth oriented approach to policy making. This is the fourth study of the region (formerly under the title 'Competitiveness in South East Europe') and it comprehensively assesses policy reforms in the WB6 economies across 15 policy areas key to strengthening their competitiveness. It enables WB6 economies to compare economic performance against regional peers, as well as EU-OECD good practices and standards, and to design future policies based on rich evidence and actionable policy recommendations. The regional profile presents assessment findings across five policy clusters crucial to accelerating socio-economic convergence of the WB6 by fostering regional co-operation: business environment, skills, infrastructure and connectivity, digital transformation and greening. Economy-specific profiles complement the regional assessment, offering each WB6 economy an in-depth analysis of their policies supporting competitiveness. They also track the implementation of the previous 2021 study's recommendations and provide additional ones tailored to the economies’ evolving challenges. These recommendations aim to inform structural economic reforms and facilitate the region’s socio-economic convergence towards the standards of the EU and OECD.
