Book The Law Governed Universe

Download or read book The Law Governed Universe written by John T. Roberts and published by OUP Oxford. This book was released on 2008-11-27 with total page 421 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: John T. Roberts presents and defends a radically new theory of laws of nature, the Measurability Account. Though consistent with a Humean ontology, Roberts's theory differs sharply from the most influential Humean theory of laws, David Lewis's Best-System Analysis. Unlike other Humean theories, the Measurability Account affirms that there is an important sense in which the laws govern the universe, rather than simply describing it economically. Yet unlike non-Humean theories, it requires only minimal metaphysical commitments. In this way, it combines the advantages of Humean and non-Humean approaches to laws, while avoiding the pitfalls of each. At the heart of the Measurability Account are two new ideas: that lawhood is not a property of facts but rather a role that a proposition can play within a scientific theory, and that what is essential to laws is that they guarantee the reliability of methods of measuring natural quantities. On the basis of these ideas, Roberts argues that we can offer an informative and compelling explanation of why laws have the peculiar counterfactual resilience that sets them apart from accidental uniformities.

Book Natural Laws of the Universe

Download or read book Natural Laws of the Universe written by Valentin Matcas and published by Valentin Leonard Matcas. This book was released on 2016-04-20 with total page 87 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are laws, rules, and facts so potent in this world, that they are capable to define and decide everything everywhere. These are the natural laws of this world, the spiritual laws of the universe, the supreme laws of the universe, and the higher laws. Along with the consensual laws and consensual orders of the lower worlds if you are there. The natural and spiritual laws of the universe are relatively easy to find and understand, since they are taught by most spiritual schools of thought, but will we also be able to find the supreme laws of the universe? Because since these are the highest, main, first laws ever, they should remain at the top of every law and knowledge in this world, and therefore they should remain capable to define and express everything in this world, including your unanswered questions about yourself, life, this world, and about your meaning and place in life and in this world. You must be familiar with the laws of the universe presented throughout schools of thought and used in famous documentaries as “The Secret,” building on the famous law of attraction. There are seven laws of the universe, while all successful people consider them methodically, since these help them succeed in life. If you understand these natural, spiritual, and supreme laws of the universe, they help you develop, while remaining meaningful, fulfilling, and harmonious in life and in this world. There are seven laws of the universe, or twelve, or fourteen, depending on your school of thought, yet they include the same higher knowledge, as in the law of mentalism, the law of correspondence, the law of gender, the law of polarity, and the law of vibration. These laws are over five thousand years old, and this is the case only because the age of all written records stops at this specific time, for various reasons. Because if our records went further back in time, we found these laws of the universe mentioned everywhere. You may find the laws of the universe stated throughout old Egyptian, old Greek, and old Indian records. This book finds and explains the natural, spiritual, and supreme laws of the universe, helping you understand them, and through them, helping you understand everything in life and in this world. Since these laws help you differentiate between valid facts and misleading beliefs, when you match your lines of reasoning with the lines of causality determined by them.

Book The Laws of the Universe

Download or read book The Laws of the Universe written by Paul Pissanos and published by . This book was released on 2012-03 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: BOOK SYNOPSIS THE LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE In Earthly and Heavenly Life! By Paul Pissanos The book: THE LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE In Earthly and Heavenly Life! is dedicated to the way in which the Laws that regulate not only the Natural World, but also the Spiritual World, function. For the reader to understand how the Other World operates, the World of Spirit, it is first necessary to understand what This World is and how it operates, this world of perceptible things. To make this comprehensible the author, with exceptional scientific clarity, analyzes what the Laws are, how they were created, and how they govern the miracle called Life. For the reader likewise to realize, in the course of the work, what happens when we die, the author explains what Life is and what Death is, according to the concept of Law. Are there hidden, secret Laws and cryptic Codes beyond the grave? Or perhaps here, in the world which we experience, contemporary science and Quantum theory can reveal to us the majesty of a life which is by Law and by Nature eternal? In this work the views and positions of contemporary and ancient philosophers are inserted, and the theories of physicists, astrophysicists, theologians, mathematicians, biologists, and cosmologists, as well as theosophical perspectives of persons of recognized competence about the Principles of nature and of life and the role of God as Creator. This book is not based on myth, or hypotheses. With especial care and responsibility the evidence is marshaled from experimental science as well as classical philosophy leading finally to the dynamic unification of This Life and the Other Life which act within a Common Nature! In this historical development the book discusses the most significant scientific theories and discoveries in physics, cosmogony, and quantum mechanics. The greatest experiments that changed the history of science such as: the Michelson -Morley experiment, the Solar-Beam experiment, the No Boundary Condition experiment, the Particle-Bond experiment, and many others, respond in a marvelous way to the great questions of humankind about the meaning of Creation, Space, Time, Life and Death.

Download or read book Design in Nature written by Adrian Bejan and published by Anchor. This book was released on 2013-01-08 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this groundbreaking book, Adrian Bejan takes the recurring patterns in nature—trees, tributaries, air passages, neural networks, and lightning bolts—and reveals how a single principle of physics, the constructal law, accounts for the evolution of these and many other designs in our world. Everything—from biological life to inanimate systems—generates shape and structure and evolves in a sequence of ever-improving designs in order to facilitate flow. River basins, cardiovascular systems, and bolts of lightning are very efficient flow systems to move a current—of water, blood, or electricity. Likewise, the more complex architecture of animals evolve to cover greater distance per unit of useful energy, or increase their flow across the land. Such designs also appear in human organizations, like the hierarchical “flowcharts” or reporting structures in corporations and political bodies. All are governed by the same principle, known as the constructal law, and configure and reconfigure themselves over time to flow more efficiently. Written in an easy style that achieves clarity without sacrificing complexity, Design in Nature is a paradigm-shifting book that will fundamentally transform our understanding of the world around us.

Book excerpt: Is the universe actually a giant quantum computer? According to Seth Lloyd, the answer is yes. All interactions between particles in the universe, Lloyd explains, convey not only energy but also information–in other words, particles not only collide, they compute. What is the entire universe computing, ultimately? “Its own dynamical evolution,” he says. “As the computation proceeds, reality unfolds.” Programming the Universe, a wonderfully accessible book, presents an original and compelling vision of reality, revealing our world in an entirely new light.

The author has deftly unpacked and presented this complicated idea in a manner that is both accessible and fascinating. The fundamental tenet of the Law of Cause and Effect is that every action has a matching reaction or effect. This principle governs everything from the physical universe to human behavior, and philosophers, scientists, and spiritual leaders have acknowledged it throughout history. In this book, the author examines the many elements of this universal law and illustrates how it can be used daily to attain tremendous success, pleasure, and contentment. The author's use of real-world examples to illustrate the operation of the Law of Cause and Effect is one of the most fascinating features of this book. The author demonstrates that every action we perform might have unanticipated repercussions, from the tiniest interactions between individuals to the most meaningful global events. Through these instances, readers understand how their decisions and actions can affect their lives and the world. Each chapter examines a unique facet of the Law of Cause and Effect. In the first section, the author describes how the fundamental principles of causation function in the physical world. The notions of inertia, motion, and the interconnection of all things are extensively discussed. This book examines the role of causation concerning human behavior and how our thoughts, feelings, and actions can significantly impact our lives and those around us. Through a series of case studies and real-world examples, you will gain an understanding of the intricate dynamics of human relationships and the role of causation in creating them. It also highlights the significance of taking responsibility for one's actions and recognizing each individual's power to effect positive change in the world. By adopting a mindset of conscious causation, readers may take charge of their lives and design a road toward greater success and satisfaction. This BOOK is a fantastic resource for anyone interested in the underlying concepts of causation and how they act in our daily lives. Whether you are a philosophy, physics, or spirituality student, this book provides useful ideas and practical techniques for harnessing the power of cause and effect to improve your life and the lives of others.
