Book Scientific Bases of Hindu Beliefs

Download or read book Scientific Bases of Hindu Beliefs written by Dr. Bhojraj Dwivedi and published by Diamond Pocket Books Pvt Ltd. This book was released on 2016-05-02 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sanatan Hindu Dharma is like a huge tree. Different kinds of assumptions have, merged into it from time immemorial. As human population grew and time changed, beliefs and faiths changed as a result of continuous thinking of scholars and growing maturity in their ideas. As a consequence,? the branches and sub-branches of Hindu religion also grew. Is there any scientific basis of beliefs and faiths propagated in Hinduism? This question agitates the minds of intellectual readers again and again. Now, that time has come to an end, when you cited from the religious scriptures and said, ?Babaÿvakyaÿpramanam? (here is the statement from the author as evidence). Comprehensive thinking about religious beliefs has become the most essential call of the age today. First of all, the average reader has to understand what is science. The word ?vigyan (science) is formed by prefixing ?vi to ?gyan? (knowledge). ?Vishishta gyanam iti vigyanam, ?Vishesh gyanam iti vigyanam?, ?Vishuddha gyanam iti vigyanam (Specific knowledge is science, Special knowledge is science, Pure knowledge is science), these definitions are clear in themselves. Science, in fact, is based upon cause and effect relationship. ?Karya karan sarnbandh iti vigyanam?, ?punah punah parikshanam prayoganch kritam? (Science is cause and effect relationship. Experiment is made again and again). Where we come to know the cause and effect relationship, then that knowledge automatically passes into the category of science. True knowledge of an object, based on facts, is a part of science itself. ?Punah punah nirikshit gyanam iti vigyanam,? When the results are the same on repeated observations, then those facts become science. Ancient Rishis-Munis (seers and saints) formed some rules and principles under the cover of religion to civilize humanity. They offered the charms of heaven and fears of hell, so that, men adopted them in their conduct. Today, in the age of computer, no one accepts heaven or hell, piety or sin, religion or irreligion. It is a transition period. Innumerable questions are cropping up in the minds of the intellectuals. To clarify the scientific basis of Hindu beliefs has become a need of the day.

Book excerpt: In late 1980s, I was controlling a large staff, which had their own personal problems, but slowly the staff members started approaching me for guidance, though this was not part of my official duty, as such , in the beginning I was reluctant to render any advise, but I found that if the problems are not sorted out in a sympathetic manner, then this leads to loss of output and at times, even led to accidents. As such , I started given tips and encouraged them to solve their problems in their own ways. This helped many and issues were solved amicably. To render better service, I started referring many books on human affairs and psychology. The study increased my knowledge base and I gained good experience. All the time, I was preparing notes and slowly the notes became bigger and bigger. The formation of a book has started and further research was done to improve upon it. Based on my experience and interaction with the people, the notes were grouped under four aspects: Religious, Spiritual, Scientific and Materialistic and how one achieves progress in these aspects. Excellence in life is a reference book, where subject matter has been arranged in a logical manner as civilizations developed in a different parts of the world. I hope that the readers will be benefited out of this book and they will develop confidence in tackling the problems, as they arise in life. In a matter of weeks, the series became a national obsession. During the Ramayan slot, roads emptied out. No marriages and political rallies were scheduled for that time. More than three decades later, there has been nothing to match it. Ramanand Sagar, the man behind the phenomenon and a successful filmmaker from Bombay, was among the first to recognise the immense power of television. He first made his mark as a writer in Raj Kapoor's Barsat (1949). From 1961 to 1970, Sagar wrote, produced and directed six consecutive silver jubilee hits-Ghunghat, Zindagi, Arzoo, Ankhen, Geet and Lalkar. An Epic Life: Ramanand Sagar, From Barsaat to Ramayan, written by his son, Prem Sagar, an award-winning cinematographer, is an intimate look at the life of a visionary. It traces Sagar's life from his birth in Kashmir in 1917, his dramatic escape in 1947 when Pakistani tribesmen attacked the state, his arrival in Bombay and his subsequent glorious career-the crowning achievement of which was the smashing success of Ramayan.

Book excerpt: RECOVERY OF INDIA presents a holistic view of the country's unmatched tradition, its growth through centuries of chequered history vis-à-vis its present struggle to rediscover its incomparably rich legacy in a world of cut-throat competition and mind-boggling speed of rat race that seems to run from nowhere to nowhere. In the giddy tumble caused by IT Era gargantuan gadgetry and the confusion generated by disordered aimlessness, nobody has the time or inclination to reflect on the whys and wherefores of a world gone topsy-turvy. In this scenario of clouded wits and maverick ambition churned by illimitable lust for Mammonism, advanced nations are turning towards India in the fond hope of finding spiritual solace and the right direction for moving towards a higher order of civilization. The author intends to help non-Indians adopt what is healthy while urging his compatriots to restore India’s primeval psycho-spiritual health to its pristine glory.
