Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome to the 8th chapter of The Journey. One thing I feel that needs to be mentioned about this book is how after editing these poems, it seemed like I was back at the beginning. While I was reading through this book prepping it for publication, it seemed almost as though I had never read them before. I experienced this same thing while publishing some of my first books. It's like this gift has always been far ahead of where I am. I've been blessed with various readers my writing connects with from many different ages and lifestyles across the world. My descriptive interpretations of visions and whispers have allowed readers to absorb the levels of thought I've transcended within and ultimately become one with the poems content.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While preparing this book for publication, I really began to think of just how much The Journey became my purpose. When I first started writing poetry around 15 years ago, I was simply trying to find a way to describe the emotions that were consuming me within at the time. My friend of 22 years committed suicide on Nov 18, 1993. After writing poems afterwards for a couple years, I had decided to create a 100-page book in order to keep a promise I'd made to Bill that his name would live on far past his death. Today this book marks the 10th edition since that first book. Follow Your Dreams, Someday They Will Come True. James Lagosk

Book The Journey Back to the Beginning

Download or read book The Journey Back to the Beginning written by James Lagoski and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2008-04-22 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As I sit down to write this page introducing the ninth chapter of The Journey, I find myself grateful for the life I've been granted. Time can be a harsh measurement while we're in this physical state stumbling past endeavors meant to help us find ourselves. So I never began to understand events that began this gift I call "The Journey" 13 years ago would lead my life where it is today. I've been literally taught how to mentally explore depths and boundaries of knowledge detailing our own existence by a power I could never adequately begin to explain or describe. Because the truth is far too vast and it's complicated by endless connecting of questions, possibilities and answers, each intertwined around our personal experiences within this lifetime. And today watching all aspects of previous predictions unfold, I am saddened by facts that will disrupt life as we've known it.

It's hard to believe how Bills death became The Journey and how many different lives these poems have touched over the last 23 years. As with all of my books, this one is dedicated to the memory of a few special people. Sadly my Mother passed away in her sleep on July 10th, 2011. The life changing events came afterwards over the last 6 years including my own debilitating head injury reassures me that no matter what we face in life, every day is a new one. Welcome to the 11th Chapter of The Journey. Peace

Book The Journey of Prayer

    Book Details:
  • Author : Dorcas Willis
  • Publisher : Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2019-01-10
  • ISBN : 1643497820
  • Pages : 64 pages

Download or read book The Journey of Prayer written by Dorcas Willis and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-01-10 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the age of nine years, Dorcas Willis' parents took the pastorate of a small storefront church of about twenty-five people. She learned at an early age that when prayer is the cornerstone of a ministry, it is amazing what God can do. From that foundation, she watched God raise up a strong church. Both the church and Dorcas Willis grew up together. She watched God perform miracle after miracle, including the explosive growth of the church and the purchase of a beautiful ornate church building on the main street in town. She had a privileged upbringing. As she looks back, it was a combination of things that created the environment in which she grew up, the era of time, the geographical location, and the lack of an abundance of this world's goods. Necessity was viewed as "an opportunity for God to provide." Ministry was the center of her childhood and youth. She was privileged to be nurtured by a mother and father who were totally dedicated to prayer and "ministry." As a child, it was her privilege to have as her mentors and role models, those who dwelled in that secret place referred to by David in Psalm 91. Dorcas Willis' upbringing was not privileged from the standpoint of this world's wealth nor worldly fame but because of those who surrounded her, those who truly dwelled in the Secret Place of God's presence. The lesson she learned in growing up in a climate of prayer was that any interference with God's will and plan became null and void when prayer was made. Recently Dorcas Willis was privileged to speak to ministry leaders and share her experiences in several locations including Ireland and a missions trip to Ukraine. Because of the foundation of prayer through several generations, God has given her two sons who pastor thriving churches. Pastor Andrew J. Willis, who pastors in Houston, TX, and Pastor Dan Willis who pastors in the suburbs of Chicago, IL.

Book Exploring the Work of Edward S Casey

Download or read book Exploring the Work of Edward S Casey written by Azucena Cruz-Pierre and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2013-08-15 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From his initial writings on imagination and memory, to his recent studies of the glance and the edge, the work of American philosopher Edward S. Casey continues to shape 20th-century philosophy. In this first study dedicated to his rich body of work, distinguished scholars from philosophy, urban studies and architecture as well as artists engage with Casey's research and ideas to explore the key themes and variations of his contribution to the humanities. Structured into three major parts, the volume reflects the central concerns of Casey's writings: an evolving phenomenology of imagination, memory, and place; representation and landscape painting and art; and edges, glances, and voice. Each part begins with an extended interview that defines and explains the topics, concepts, and stakes of each area of research. Readers are thus offered an introduction to Casey's fascinating body of work, and will gain a new insight into particular aspects and applications of Casey's research. With a complete bibliography and an introduction that at once stresses each of Casey's areas of research while putting into perspective their overarching themes, this authoritative volume identifies the overall coherence and interconnections of Edward S. Casey's work and his impact on contemporary thought.

Download or read book Brother Rook and I written by Brother Rook and published by Dog Ear Publishing. This book was released on 2008-11 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is one man's journey through rebirth, self discovery, love, pain and growth. It is nothing profound, however it is simple poetry written mostly in verse utilizing play on words and conveying messages and lessons learned. My friends that have seen bits and pieces of this book have smiled, laughed and some have been moved. My favorite description that I've heard most often is "cute." This book is written mostly about me, and subjects and people that have touched and tested me. I believe I'm an interesting person and that my life has been also. This book has been compiled over the years and people have always requested copies of individual pieces. I have been prompted by many to publish my work so I thought others may enjoy seeing my poetry through my eyes also. I believe this book is insightful and that "old school" would describe it as "deep." This book will not be a best seller however it most certainly will be an enjoyable experience. Please come meet Brother Rook and I and see for yourself, Poetry through my Eyes. I was born "Edward Carl Colding" to the birth parents Father, Robert L. Colding, originally from Tampa Florida and Mother, Verna (Catanch) Colding originally from Ahoskie North Carolina. I was born and raised in the concrete jungle of West Philadelphia. I was always your average young boy that was exposed to more drama than I could comprehend very similar to the fictional character "Preach" in the movie Cooley High. I worked hard and finally freed myself of my many complexes and I developed an alter ego that I call "Brother Rook." In three years in and out of the classrooms of Overbrook Senior High School I moved from feeling unworthy and being a young boy to making a place for myself, proving I belong and in the process becoming an old man practically overnight. I erased my square dull points by becoming a well rounded 20 year veteran of The United States Air Force. I dealt with many different types of people and traveled half way around the world which sharpened my senses and gave me a passion for life. -- Once in grade school in the auditorium I was assigned to recite the poem "Trees" by Joyce Kilmer. Like many kids I froze even though I knew that poem like the back of my hand. I'll never forget that day or that poem. From that day to this; I have loved to express myself in poetry and I enjoy an audience, because "poems are written, by fools like "me," but only GOD can make a Tree."
