Book The Internationalisation of Football Clubs Analysis of RasenBallsport Leipzig s Marketing Possibilities in Southeast Asia and Recommendations

Download or read book The Internationalisation of Football Clubs Analysis of RasenBallsport Leipzig s Marketing Possibilities in Southeast Asia and Recommendations written by David Mariot and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2019-10-09 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bachelor Thesis from the year 2017 in the subject Health - Sport - Sport Economics, Sport Management, grade: 2,0, Pforzheim University, language: English, abstract: The competition between professional football clubs is increasing both on a national as well as on an international level. Clubs do not only experience pressure for sporting success but also for economic profitability. As sporting success can hardly be planned, the club’s financial well-being needs to be ensured independently from results on the pitch. The rationale seems obvious, a club’s higher popularity among fans leads to higher revenues. Football is the most popular sport in the world and almost half of the world’s population is interested in the sport. With this in mind, it seems naive or even negligent that the majority of professional German football clubs keep on serving the national market only. Sounding like a repeated appeal, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, CEO of the most internationalised German football club FC Bayern Munich, describes internationalisation as “without any alternative“. He continues by explaining “without growth on the international markets, you risk the sporting competitiveness“. With a population of over 600 Million people and a high enthusiasm for football, Southeast Asia invites football clubs to start their internationalisation in the region. Hence only a structured approach and a thoughtful strategy are required to finally and successfully enter these promising markets.

Book Football Club Ownership in England and Germany

Download or read book Football Club Ownership in England and Germany written by Max Kindler and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2009 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2008 in the subject Sport - Sport History, grade: distinction, The University of Liverpool, 87 entries in the bibliography, language: English, abstract: This piece of work analyses the legal and statutory environment for investments in football clubs in Germany, as opposed to the situation in England. Whereas German regulations limit the acquisition of shares of football clubs, the legal framework is much more liberal in England. The paper looks at the potential conflicts of interest involved with club ownership issues as well as at the arguments for and against the German "50 plus 1" rule and how this rule may cause a shortfall in competitiveness as compared to English football. Finally, the dissertation looks at doubts over the lawfulness of the rule in relation to European antitrust legislation and doubts over its effectiveness concerning legal loopholes provided by German corporation law. The paper relied predominantly on the analysis of literature concerning the regulation of club ownership in England and Germany, whereas a significant amount of German literature was used. Essentially, the research found that there is reason for severe scepticism about both the lawfulness and the effectiveness of the "50 plus 1" rule. It would probably not bear up against a test before the European Court of Justice. There are several opportunities in German corporate law to circumvent the rule. Finally, the paper urges the German Football Association (DFB) to consider a softening of the regulations currently in place, and effective modifications of the underlying licensing system, respectively, as well as the introduction of supporters' trusts and fit and proper person tests. Finally, the paper claims that competitive balance on a European club level can only be restored if club ownership issues are resolved on a European level.

Book A Neorealist Assessment of India s Look East Policy

Download or read book A Neorealist Assessment of India s Look East Policy written by Johanna Bötscher and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2011-04 with total page 137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2011 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Region: Near East, Near Orient, grade: 1, University of Salzburg (Fachbereich für Politikwissenschaft und Soziologie), language: English, abstract: In line with its new foreign policy after the end of the Cold War India started to significantly increase its political, economic and military relations with Southeast Asia at the beginning of the 1990ies. Since then, but particularly for the last ten years this so-called "Look East Policy" has grown to a strong and multifaceted partnership that constitutes a major component of Indian foreign policy today. The principal purpose of this thesis is to evaluate India's motives for its strong interactions with Southeast Asia. The most common approach among academics to explain India's Look East Policy follows a liberal understanding of International Relations. Liberals argue that both, India and the Southeast Asian countries want to exploit complementarities in their economic and social structures: This thesis however, follows a neorealist understanding of International Relations by arguing that the Look East Policy is primarily a strategy of the Indian government to counterbalance the growing Chinese influence in Southeast Asia: Due to the geographic closeness of the Asia Pacific region to the Indian subcontinent, China's presence there is particularly worrisome for India. It thus aligns with the Southeast Asian states in order to push back the Chinese power. In addition to evaluate the motives for India's Look East Policy, the aim of this thesis is also to confute the liberal critiques on the balance of power theory and to show that the conception has still an enormous predicative power also in the twenty-first century. (Neorealist Balance of Power/Balance of Threat Theory). Moteover, while most existing publications using the balance of power theory mainly focus on balancing for political and military power this thesis also takes into acc

Book Responsibility to Protect

Download or read book Responsibility to Protect written by Julia Hoffmann and published by Amsterdam University Press. This book was released on 2012 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

With potentially four billion people being connected by mobile devices by the end of 2009, and many people having their first internet experience over a mobile device rather than a PC, mobility is changing people’s lives for the better. This is a huge responsibility and test for companies in the business. But Nokia’s CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, is claiming that his company has always been good at adapting to both change and challenges. This work examines how well the world largest cell phone manufacturer is prepared to maintain customer’s continuous trust in their company and products; what is their strategy to continue success while changing. The works examines in three steps Nokia’s strategy execution: the corporate strategy level, the business-level strategy, and the marketing strategy level. Finally, the analysis results are collectively examined in the SWOT-analysis before drawing the conclusion for which of the various generic competitive strategies Nokia is deploying.

Book International Joint Ventures in Brazil s Markets

Download or read book International Joint Ventures in Brazil s Markets written by Siegfried Hotter and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2012-02 with total page 29 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2010 in the subject Business economics - Marketing, Corporate Communication, CRM, Market Research, Social Media, grade: 1,0, Munich University of Applied Sciences (Fakultät 09 für Wirtschafts-Ingenieurwesen: Master of Business Administration&Engineering), course: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and International Joint Venture (IJV) in Brazil, language: English, abstract: For several decades now, we are experiencing an unavoidable and strongly growing market globalization. Beyond the traditional export business, industrial globalization keeps penetrating the world ́s countries and markets under many different forms of international businesses and strategic alliances. This term paper describes, justifies and compares two forms of cross-border business expansion strategies into the Brazilian Market that a Multi-National-Corporation (MNC) may resort to: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and International Joint Venture (IJV). Their implementation strongly depends of the market type that a host country offers. A common denominator of both international market entry modes is the obviously advantageous presence of interests of the involved MNC ́s when trying to expand their businesses into host countries. This direct presence in a host country means additional speed to market and provides the MNC ́s far more possibilities of establishing, conducting and controlling international businesses, than the traditional export business. The generalizing statement made in the paragraph above is only meant to provide an introductory feeling on how the market of a host country determines the strategy for business expansion. Naturally, there are far more important facts and reasons to be considered that ultimately force investors into conducting extensive, deep and detailed analysis of not only the market conditions and structures found in pinpointed host countries of their interest, but much more must they make profound and accurate analys

Book Does ASEAN Matter Reconciling Realist and Constructivist Approaches to Regional Security in Southeast Asia

Download or read book Does ASEAN Matter Reconciling Realist and Constructivist Approaches to Regional Security in Southeast Asia written by Peter Goldschagg and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2007 with total page 85 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Essay from the year 2007 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Region: South Asia, grade: A (sehr gut/excellent), Victoria University of Wellington, course: Regional integration in Southeast Asia, 51 entries in the bibliography, language: English, abstract: Focusing on ASEAN's relevance as a regional security organisation, this study aims to expound the prevailing driving forces, interests and obstacles to an effective crisis management. Drawing on the theoretical background of neo-realist and constructivist approaches, the paper argues that neither the neo-realist nor the constructivist approach is able to fully conceptualise ASEAN's role in regional security. While only an eclectic, multi-dimensional approach grasps the variety of its multiple facets, the latter seems to be highly contingent on the interplay of external structural and internal sociological dynamics. While the organisation appears in this out sketched context as a relatively important player in times of political and economic stability, having its merits in conflict-preventive measures through the building of trust and the construction of a common identity, the regime shows strong enervations in times of crisis.

But then again, according to my indivindual research, it is comprehended that the Indian community deserve cutting-edge air filter system due to the growing air pollution in the living environment and the consumer levels of air filters in India which rapidly increases every year. From report, my evaluation of the environmental factors in India for recommendations is based on a further need for research about the all environmental factors in India for appropriate findings and inferences. Empirically, much of the air pollutants in India emanates from industrial and vehicle emissions. My recommendation was driven towards air filter masks that will assist the Indian people from inhaling polluted air.

Book The Integrity of the Game and Shareholdings in European Football Clubs

Download or read book The Integrity of the Game and Shareholdings in European Football Clubs written by Marc Peterson and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2009-09-22 with total page 50 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2009 in the subject Law - Civil / Private, Trade, Anti Trust Law, Business Law, grade: gut, Tilburg University (Faculty of Law), course: International Business Law, language: English, abstract: The ENIC judgement of the Court of Arbitration for Sports clarified in 1999 that the UEFA regulations on multi-club ownership are necessary to maintain the integrity of football, in particular, the authenticity of results. Under the UEFA regulations, controlling interests in more than one club participating in a UEFA club competition are prohibited. However, it is not only multi-club ownership that may influence the so-called integrity of the game. Investments of clubs in other clubs (cross ownership) and shareholdings of “club-involved” persons in a club different from their own also raise issues. The following paper therefore examines the current regulations on those shareholdings for UEFA competitions (Champions’ League and Europa League) and for national leagues in England, Spain, and Germany. The analysis provides a detailed overview of how the game’s integrity is protected and shows whether improvements seem necessary.

Book Humanitarian Intervention and the Responsibility to Protect

Download or read book Humanitarian Intervention and the Responsibility to Protect written by Cristina Badescu and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2010-11-23 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores attempts to develop a more acceptable account of the principles and mechanisms associated with humanitarian intervention, which has become known as the ‘Responsibility to Protect’ (R2P). Cases of genocide and mass violence have raised endless debates about the theory and practice of humanitarian intervention to save innocent lives. Since the humanitarian tragedies in Rwanda, Burundi, Bosnia, Kosovo and elsewhere, states have begun advocating a right to undertake interventions to stop mass violations of human rights from occurring. Their central concern rests with whether the UN’s current regulations on the use of force meet the challenges of the post-Cold War world, and in particular the demands of addressing humanitarian emergencies. International actors tend to agree that killing civilians as a necessary part of state formation is no longer acceptable, nor is standing by idly in the face of massive violations of human rights. And yet, respect for the sovereign rights of states remains central among the ordering principles of the international community. How can populations affected by egregious human rights violations be protected? How can the legal constraints on the use of force and respect for state sovereignty be reconciled with the international community’s willingness and readiness to take action in such instances? And more importantly, how can protection be offered when the Security Council, which is responsible for authorizing the use of force when threats to international peace and security occur, is paralyzed? The author addresses these issues, arguing that R2P is the best framework available at present to move the humanitarian intervention debate forward. This book will be of interest to students of the responsibility to protect, war and conflict studies, human security, international organisations, security studies and IR in general.

Book Analysis and Evaluation of Market Entry Modes into the Asia Pacific Region

Download or read book Analysis and Evaluation of Market Entry Modes into the Asia Pacific Region written by Thomas Andexer and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2008-08-25 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Diploma Thesis from the year 2006 in the subject Business economics - Supply, Production, Logistics, grade: Sehr Gut, FH Oberösterreich - Campus Steyr (Produktion und Management (PMT)), language: English, abstract: The business world at the beginning of the 21st century is characterised by a steadily increasing globalisation and the growth of international business operations. The proceeding dynamism of the global markets creates new chances not only for multinational enterprises but also for small- and medium sized companies (SMEs). Particularly, the above-average economic potential of emerging markets, especially in many countries of the Asia-Pacific region, is amongst others the leading incentive for the increasing number of cross-border expansions. In this context, the decision for the appropriate market entry strategy is already one of the most difficult ones within the broad topic of international marketing, whereas the choice of target countries with tremendous cultural differences and the specifics of the industrial goods business respectively, lead to an even higher degree of complexity in the decision for the most suitable form of organisation for the international market entry. The main task of this thesis was to break down the untargeted theory of the market entry modes to the evaluation of a situational context of a genuine company with the help of abstract focus areas in a step-by-step approach. Starting with a general overview to the topic area of interational marketing and further the alternative market entry modes, the thesis introduces three focus areas with an anticipatory relation to the case study: ‘The Asia-Pacific region, SMEs and the industrial goods business’ stand in the centre of the examination. The core of this thesis represents a feasibility study related to the focused perspective, in which every market entry mode is investigated in its compatibility with the focus areas. The result of the study, in other words the identification of all feasible entry mode alternatives regarding the focus areas, establishes the basis for the implementation of the case study of the German AdPhos Plc., a medium sized company in the industrial goods business and its penetration of new markets in Asia. As the second core part of this thesis follows the evaluation of AdPhos’ market entry decision with means of a scoring model, whereas AdPhos’ decision for a strategic alliance is confronted with all other feasible market entry alternatives. The hereby extracted results deliver information to the suitability of the chosen organisation form regarding the individual situation of the company and finally enable the derivation of appropriate recommendations.

Book A Comparison of American Football in the USA and Germany

Download or read book A Comparison of American Football in the USA and Germany written by Hanna Wilkes and published by . This book was released on 2015-04-28 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seminar paper from the year 2012 in the subject Cultural Studies - Empiric Cultural Studies, grade: 2,0, University of Hildesheim, language: English, abstract: An American Football championship game took place between the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers. The Packers received a 21-17 victory, however, it was not the result that made this game unforgettable. The special aspect was the weather conditions. The wind chill temperature was down to minus 40 degrees Celsius, and that is why the game got the nickname Ice Bowl. It was so cold that the official's whistle froze to his lips when he wanted to start the game. Instead of canceling it because of the arctic temperatures, it was just decided not to use any whistles for the rest of the game. Not only every player on the field fought against nature but also more than 50.000 fans watching the game live at sold out Lambeau Field. Lots of them suffered frostbite, four spectators even had a heart attack. How can it be that American Football is that important in the United States? How can a game become so popular that people even risk their health for it? On the other hand the question arises why American Football is quite unpopular and unknown in Germany. All these questions are to lead through this comparing term paper so that in the end, a selection of possible reasons can be given. The term paper starts with an illustration of American Football's popularity in the USA and in Germany. After that the main part, the comparison, will begin. There are four categories chosen to help explain why American Football is more popular in the U.S. than in Germany - those are chance, the attitudes towards warfare, values and the education systems. It will be analyzed how much influence these components have on the popularity in both countries. Finally, the conclusion follows, in which all results will be summed up and interpreted.

Book Sports and social class in Great Britain Football Rugby Cricket and society

Download or read book Sports and social class in Great Britain Football Rugby Cricket and society written by Lukas Szpeth and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2015-09-18 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Essay from the year 2009 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Culture and Applied Geography, University of Trier, course: British Culture Studies, language: English, abstract: When talking about Great Britain and the British people there are some noticeable facts that should not be forgotten. Focusing on the favourite British leisure time activities, it becomes obvious that sports and especially team sports play a major role in British culture. The reason for this may be found in Britain's history of sports. Evidence suggests that many of today's popular sports have been developed and regulated there. Following this premise it should facilitate to imagine that the first players of these sports were probably British. Likewise are today's rules or at least their basic structure. In the following this Essay will deal with Britain’s three major team sports and their popularity. But which ones are the most popular? The answer seems obvious but knowing it inevitably raises further questions: Why are these sports so popular and to whom?
