Book A New Unified Theory of Psychology

Download or read book A New Unified Theory of Psychology written by Gregg Henriques and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-08-17 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Concern about psychology’s fragmentation is not new, but there has for the past decade been increasing calls for psychologists to acknowledge to the costs associated with fragmentation and to search for ways to unify the discipline. A New Unified Theory of Psychology introduces a new system that addresses psychology’s current theoretical and philosophical difficulties. The new theory consists of four interlocking pieces that together provide—for the first time—a macro-level view that clarifies the nature of psychology’s problems and offers a clear way to unify the various elements of the field. The unified theory provides the field of psychology with a well-defined subject matter, allowing both academic and professional psychologists will be able to develop a shared language and conceptual foundation.

Book Neutrosophic Completion Technique for Incomplete Higher Order AHP Comparison Matrices

Download or read book Neutrosophic Completion Technique for Incomplete Higher Order AHP Comparison Matrices written by Ignacio J. Navarro and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 19 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present paper proposes a neutrosophic AHP completion methodology to reduce the number of judgments required to be emitted by the decision maker. This increases the consistency of their responses, while accounting for uncertainties associated to the fuzziness of human thinking. The method is applied to a sustainable-design problem, resulting in weight estimations that allow for a reduction of up to 22% of the conventionally required comparisons, with an average accuracy below 10% between estimates and the weights resulting from a conventionally completed AHP matrix, and a root mean standard error below 15%.

Book Manipulation of Matrix Isolated Molecules and Molecular Clusters with Electrostatic Fields

Download or read book Manipulation of Matrix Isolated Molecules and Molecular Clusters with Electrostatic Fields written by Youngwook Park and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-10-01 with total page 55 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the manipulation of molecular properties, such as orientation, structure, and dynamics, of small molecules and molecular clusters isolated in cold inert matrices by using unprecedentedly strong external electrostatic fields. Manipulation of molecules with controllable external forces is a dream of chemists. Molecules are inherently quantum-mechanical systems, control of which potentially can lead to quantum technology, such as quantum sensing and computing. This book demonstrates a combination of the ice film nanocapacitor method and the matrix isolation technique enabled the application of intense external dc electric fields across the isolated molecules and molecular clusters. Changes in molecular states induced by fields were monitored by means of vibrational spectroscopy. Also, the book presents manipulations of the inversion tunneling dynamics of ammonia molecule and the dislocation of acidic proton in hydrogen chloride–water complex. The book shows that the vibrational spectroscopy with the aid of unprecedentedly strong dc electric field can provide rich information on the electrostatic behaviors of molecules and molecular clusters, which underlie the understanding of intermolecular processes and molecular manipulation.

Book Time Dependent Mechanical Behavior of Ceramic Matrix Composites at Elevated Temperatures

Download or read book Time Dependent Mechanical Behavior of Ceramic Matrix Composites at Elevated Temperatures written by Longbiao Li and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-04-18 with total page 373 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book investigates the time-dependent behavior of fiber-reinforced ceramic-matrix composites (CMCs) at elevated temperatures. The author combines the time-dependent damage mechanisms of interface and fiber oxidation and fracture with the micromechanical approach to establish the relationships between the first matrix cracking stress, matrix multiple cracking evolution, tensile strength, tensile stress-strain curves and tensile fatigue of fiber-reinforced CMCs and time. Then, using damage models of energy balance, the fracture mechanics approach, critical matrix strain energy criterion, Global Load Sharing criterion, and hysteresis loops he determines the first matrix cracking stress, interface debonded length, matrix cracking density, fibers failure probability, tensile strength, tensile stress-strain curves and fatigue hysteresis loops. Lastly, he predicts the time-dependent mechanical behavior of different fiber-reinforced CMCs, i.e., C/SiC and SiC/SiC, using the developed approaches, in order to reduce the failure risk during the operation of aero engines. The book is intended for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in the mechanical behavior of CMCs, researchers investigating the damage evolution of CMCs at elevated temperatures, and designers responsible for hot-section CMC components in aero engines.
