Book The Human as a Robot or a Biological Organism

Download or read book The Human as a Robot or a Biological Organism written by Marcienne Martin and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2022-09-29 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Questioning the meaning and nature of the universe and the living world calls upon all existing fields of research. If the answers to these metaphysical questions have not been provided in a strict sense, their deciphering is constantly updated with the various discoveries that are gradually transforming humankind’s view of the surrounding environment. We are referring here to human consciousness, integrated into the world of reality and experienced as such, and not to consciousness whose normative filter, born of various beliefs, subtracts the most recent scientific advances. The relationship between the binary system and the quaternary system is at the origin of this book, which focuses on the questions: is any unit of living organisms only the result of a given programming? What then of the human being? Are they a robot participating in the living world or a consciousness inscribed in a biological habitat?

Book Homo Sapiens Are Bio Robots

Download or read book Homo Sapiens Are Bio Robots written by Olga Skorbatyuk and published by HPA Press. This book was released on 2015-08-20 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Back in the 80s of the XX century, researcher Andrey Davydov decrypted one of the most ancient sources preserved in this civilization—Shan Hai Jing. This ancient Chinese monument turned out to be the Catalog of human population; meaning—a collection of detailed descriptions of 293 subtypes of the biological type Homo sapiens. This Catalog contains information about each person who lived, lives or will live in the future on planet Earth. Information about the subtype structure is implanted in the form of a program in the unconscious of a person from birth, and this program determines all of his life: his/her personal qualities and character properties, algorithms of life and functioning, hidden motivational spring, abilities, talents, preferences, inclinations, etc. Natural subtype program is that what is called "psyche", "soul." In addition to a program, Homo sapiens, as a biosystem programmed by nature, has modes of self-regulation and regulation (control from the outside). For colleagues from the scientific environment we are offering our definition of what psyche of Homo sapiens and the Catalog of human population are: "The Catalog of human population is a description of a human as a type by subtype structures. Subtype structure (“psyche”, “soul”) is a combination of individual archetypes, recorded at the genetic level (principle). Expressions and interaction of subtype structures in manipulation modes and phenological algorithms are described with adjustments for gender, age and cultural differences. Information is recorded on six factors." Programs and manipulation modes of each subtype differ from one another. For this reason, people differ from each other by internal characteristics, and individual manipulation scenarios are necessary for each person. Homo sapiens is a living system, which, as it turned out, exists and functions strictly on the basis of a natural program implanted from birth, and from this it was concluded that a human is a bio-robot. This is confirmed by that knowledge of the natural individual program and manipulation modes of a person from Shan Hai Jing allows uncovering absolutely everything about this person and making him/her 100% controllable. You might ask: if the Catalog of human population is such a serious scientific discovery, then why it is not being talked about on television, why it is not being mentioned in newspapers, why the scientific world keeps silent and the Internet is packed with unintelligible nonsense about it? If you asked this question, then it means that you are very poorly informed about how the society in which you live is arranged and functions. Since if you knew a little more about society, then you would have immediately understood that the discovery of the Catalog of human population completely destroys not only many scientific dogmas (in biology, anthropology, psychology, sociology, etc.), but also a huge number of public institutions, professions (including very high-profit), as they simply become no longer needed. For this reason it is not a sin not only to keep silent about the scientific discovery, but also to sign a death sentence instead of awarding the Nobel Prize. Essentially, this is what was done and details about this are available in the 5th book of this series. Since not only "powerful people" do not care about you personally and the masses in general, but also even doctors, who had only one question after learning about this discovery: "If all people will be healthy, then who will need us?" Therefore, do not waste your time looking for positive feedback about us in any sources for the masses. Maybe instead it makes sense to spend your time getting answers to questions like "Who am I?", "What am I like?", "What is the meaning of my life?", "How should I live?" not from your own or other people's fantasies, as usual, but from the ancient source, which existed for tens of thousands or maybe even millions of years? No one in this world will take care of you. A human in this civilization is just a resource for someone else's gain. Now each person got a chance to make a choice: should he personally continue being a resource or not. However, these are not our difficulties.

Book Virtual Organisms

  • ISBN : 1466874309
  • Pages : 295 pages

Download or read book Virtual Organisms written by Mark Ward and published by Macmillan. This book was released on 2014-06-24 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Harmless artificial life forms are on the loose on the Internet. Computer viruses and even robots are now able to evolve like their biological counterparts. Telecommunications companies are sending small packets of software to go forth and multiply to cope with ever-increasing telephone traffic. Protein-based computers are on the agenda, and a team in Japan is building an organic brain as clever as a kitten. Welcome to the startling world of Artificial Life. Artificial Life scientists are taking inanimate materials such as computer software and robots and making them behave just like living organisms. In the process they are discovering much about what drives evolution and just what it means to say that something is alive. Virtual Organisms traces the origins of this field from the days when it was practiced by a few maverick scientists to the present and the current boom in Alife research. Leading technology correspondent Mark Ward presents a fascinating survey of current ideas about the origins of life and the engines of evolution. Through interviews with leading developers of Artificial Life, and through his own compelling research, Ward shows how the convergence of technology with biology has enormous implications. In an accessible, entertaining manner, Virtual Organisms reveals an unexplored avenue in predicting the future of Artificial Life, and whether new forms of Alife may be evolving beyond their designer's control.

Book The Biology of Computer Life

Download or read book The Biology of Computer Life written by SIMONS and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The doctrine of computer life is not congenial to many people. Often they have not thought in any depth about the idea, and it necessarily disturbs their psychological and intellectual frame of reference: it forces a reappraisal of what it is to be alive, what it is to be human, and whether there are profound, yet un expected, implications in the development of modern com puters. There is abundant evidence to suggest that we are wit nessing the emergence of a vast new family of life-forms on earth, organisms that are not based on the familiar metabolic chemistries yet whose manifest 'life credentials' are accumulating year by year. It is a mistake to regard biology as a closed science, with arbitrarily limited categories; and we should agree with Jacob (1974) who observed that 'Contrary to what is imagined, biology is not a unified science'. Biology is essentially concerned with living things, and we should be reluctant to assume that at anyone time our concept and understanding of life are complete and incapable of further refinement. And it seems clear that much of the continuing refinement of biological categories will be stimulated by advances in systems theory, and in particular by those advances that relate to the rapidly expanding world of computing and robotics. We should also remember what Pant in (1968) said in a different context: 'the biological sciences are unrestricted . . . and their investigator must be prepared to follow their problems into any other science whatsoever.

Book Living machines

    Book Details:
  • Author : Tony J. Prescott
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press
  • Release : 2018-04-19
  • ISBN : 0191666815
  • Pages : 632 pages

Download or read book Living machines written by Tony J. Prescott and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2018-04-19 with total page 632 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contemporary research in the field of robotics attempts to harness the versatility and sustainability of living organisms. By exploiting those natural principles, scientists hope to render a renewable, adaptable, and robust class of technology that can facilitate self-repairing, social, and moral—even conscious—machines. This is the realm of robotics that scientists call "the living machine". Living Machines can be divided into two entities-biomimetic systems, those that harness the principles discovered in nature and embody them in new artifacts, and biohybrid systems, which couple biological entities with synthetic ones. Living Machines: A handbook of research in biomimetic and biohybrid systems surveys this flourishing area of research. It captures the current state of play and points to the opportunities ahead, addressing such fields as self-organization and co-operativity, biologically-inspired active materials, self-assembly and self-repair, learning, memory, control architectures and self-regulation, locomotion in air, on land or in water, perception, cognition, control, and communication. In all of these areas, the potential of biomimetics is shown through the construction of a wide range of different biomimetic devices and animal-like robots. Biohybrid systems is a relatively new field, with exciting and largely unknown potential, but one that is likely to shape the future of humanity. Chapters outline current research in areas including brain-machine interfaces-where neurons are connected to microscopic sensors and actuators-and various forms of intelligent prostheses from sensory devices like artificial retinas, to life-like artificial limbs, brain implants, and virtual reality-based rehabilitation approaches. The handbook concludes by exploring the impact living machine technology will have on both society and the individual, by forcing human beings to question how we see and understand ourselves. With contributions from leading researchers drawing on ideas from science, engineering, and the humanities, this handbook will appeal to both undergraduate and postgraduate students of biomimetic and biohybrid technologies. Researchers in the areas of computational modeling and engineering, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, artificial life, biorobotics, neurorobotics, and human-machine interfaces, will find Living Machines an invaluable resource.

Book Digital People

    Book Details:
  • Author : Sidney Perkowitz
  • Publisher : Joseph Henry Press

  • Pages : 0 pages

Download or read book Digital People written by Sidney Perkowitz and published by Joseph Henry Press. This book was released on 2005-10-31 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robots, androids, and bionic people pervade popular culture, from classics like Frankenstein and R.U.R. to modern tales such as The Six Million Dollar Man, The Terminator, and A.I. Our fascination is obvious – and the technology is quickly moving from books and films to real life. In a lab at MIT, scientists and technicians have created an artificial being named COG. To watch COG interact with the environment – to recognize that this machine has actual body language – is to experience a hair-raising, gut-level reaction. Because just as we connect to artificial people in fiction, the merest hint of human-like action or appearance invariably engages us. Digital People examines the ways in which technology is inexorably driving us to a new and different level of humanity. As scientists draw on nanotechnology, molecular biology, artificial intelligence, and materials science, they are learning how to create beings that move, think, and look like people. Others are routinely using sophisticated surgical techniques to implant computer chips and drug-dispensing devices into our bodies, designing fully functional man-made body parts, and linking human brains with computers to make people healthier, smarter, and stronger. In short, we are going beyond what was once only science fiction to create bionic people with fully integrated artificial components – and it will not be long before we reach the ultimate goal of constructing a completely synthetic human-like being. It seems quintessentially human to look beyond our natural limitations. Science has long been the lens through which we squint to discern our future. Although we are rightfully fearful about manipulating the boundaries between animate and inanimate, the benefits are too great to ignore. This thoughtful and provocative book shows us just where technology is taking us, in directions both wonderful and terrible, to ponder what it means to be human.

Book Humans and Robots

    Book Details:
  • Author : Sven Nyholm
  • Publisher : Rowman & Littlefield
  • Release : 2020-03-09
  • ISBN : 1786612283

Download or read book Humans and Robots written by Sven Nyholm and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2020-03-09 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Can robots perform actions, make decisions, collaborate with humans, be our friends, perhaps fall in love, or potentially harm us? Even before these things truly happen, ethical and philosophical questions already arise. The reason is that we humans have a tendency to spontaneously attribute minds and “agency” to anything even remotely humanlike. Moreover, some people already say that robots should be our companions and have rights. Others say that robots should be slaves. This book tackles emerging ethical issues about human beings, robots, and agency head on. It explores the ethics of creating robots that are, or appear to be, decision-making agents. From military robots to self-driving cars to care robots or even sex robots equipped with artificial intelligence: how should we interpret the apparent agency of such robots? This book argues that we need to explore how human beings can best coordinate and collaborate with robots in responsible ways. It investigates ethically important differences between human agency and robot agency to work towards an ethics of responsible human-robot interaction.

Book Neurorobotics

Download or read book Neurorobotics written by Tiffany J. Hwu and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2022-11-29 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An introduction to neurorobotics that presents approaches and design principles for developing intelligent autonomous systems grounded in biology and neuroscience. Neurorobotics is an interdisciplinary field that draws on artificial intelligence, cognitive sciences, computer science, engineering, psychology, neuroscience, and robotics. Because the brain is closely coupled to the body and situated in the environment, neurorobots—autonomous systems modeled after some aspect of the brain—offer a powerful tool for studying neural function and may also be a means for developing autonomous systems with intelligence that rivals that of biological organisms. This textbook introduces approaches and design principles for developing intelligent autonomous systems grounded in biology and neuroscience. It is written for anyone interested in learning about this topic and can be used in cognitive robotics courses for students in psychology, cognitive science, and computer science. Neurorobotics covers the background and foundations of the field, with information on early neurorobots, relevant principles of neuroscience, learning rules and mechanisms, and reinforcement learning and prediction; neurorobot design principles grounded in neuroscience and principles of neuroscience research; and examples of neurorobots for navigation, developmental robotics, and social robots, presented with the cognitive science and neuroscience background that inspired them. A supplementary website offers videos, robot simulations, and links to software repositories with neurorobot examples.

Book A Neuroscientist Looks At Robots

Download or read book A Neuroscientist Looks At Robots written by Donald W Pfaff and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2015-10-28 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book, written for a general educated public, compares the most important elements of the human nervous system to the corresponding capacities of robots. Crucial are the areas of activities for which the constraints limiting human and robot performances are much different. Those areas offer opportunities for synergies. The book argues that we now understand mechanisms for emotional feelings in the human brain so well that we will be able to program robots to act as though they also have emotion. Written in a clear and open fashion by an expert neuroscientist, the book will appeal to interested lay readers in addition to neuroscientists and computer scientists.

Download or read book Our Posthuman Past written by David Edward Rose and published by Schwabe Verlag (Basel). This book was released on 2021-06-09 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Technological advances directly affect the human being's material existence and its self-understanding. The Enlightenment's intentional agent is, due to specific technologies, undergoing a fundamental transformation. Yet, if the ideological basis of this understanding, the justness of social luck, is not rejected, then a new understanding of the "subject" which would avoid unfreedom in the territorialization of the digital world is made impossible. This book offers a novel Hegelian reading of the posthuman discipline in order to propose a new subjectivity.

Book Robotics AI and Humanity

Download or read book Robotics AI and Humanity written by Joachim von Braun and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-02-12 with total page 261 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This open access book examines recent advances in how artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics have elicited widespread debate over their benefits and drawbacks for humanity. The emergent technologies have for instance implications within medicine and health care, employment, transport, manufacturing, agriculture, and armed conflict. While there has been considerable attention devoted to robotics/AI applications in each of these domains, a fuller picture of their connections and the possible consequences for our shared humanity seems needed. This volume covers multidisciplinary research, examines current research frontiers in AI/robotics and likely impacts on societal well-being, human – robot relationships, as well as the opportunities and risks for sustainable development and peace. The attendant ethical and religious dimensions of these technologies are addressed and implications for regulatory policies on the use and future development of AI/robotics technologies are elaborated.
