Download or read book The Horn and the Halo written by Hilbert Bernard Pompey and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2018-02-23 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Horn and the Halo is about an angelic demon who somehow ended up with a halo wedged over one of his horns. His childlike behavior and animated thoughts compel you to see him as a lovable character although he can be very devilish. As Lord Devil begins to plot against Thath, the book transitions to earth, where the Defense Forces (good guys and gals) are protecting the people of earth and the planet itself. The various characters in the military all play a vital role as a team to maintain the balance of the forces, as well as themselves. Each one is a very strong leader to include one of the new recruits. Although this is a fictional book, you might see yourself or someone you know in one or more of the characters. The book starts off in a very melodic poetry format articulated in rhyme similar to that of Dr. Seuss, except Bernards style goes from an urban Ebonics flair and the new and old biblical testament to scientific language, scholarly thought, and of course, his own developed language and grammar. The transitions of word styles and the creativity of the books journey is reminiscent of how we thought when we used to just simply go outside and play. The book is truly a reflection of Bernards freedom to express himself and his mind.

What he really wants to do is train to be a warrior or an assassin. Except is he ready for that? Not according to Corinth Taylor. Download or read book Introduction to Logic written by Jess Drake and published by Scientific e-Resources. This book was released on 2018-05-30 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Logic originally meaning "e;the word"e; or "e;what is spoken"e; is generally held to consist of the systematic study of the form of arguments. A valid argument is one where there is a specific relation of logical support between the assumptions of the argument and its conclusion. There is no universal agreement as to the exact scope and subject matter of logic, but it has traditionally included the classification of arguments, the systematic exposition of the 'logical form' common to all valid arguments, the study of inference, including fallacies, and the study of semantics, including paradoxes. Historically, logic has been studied in philosophy and mathematics and recently logic has been studied in computer science, linguistics, psychology, and other fields. The book is about the logic and talks about various aspects of it such as general character of the enquiry, argument from analogy, mathematical reasoning, etc. This book will prove to be very useful for the people interested in logic as well as the students of logic.

Download or read book Strategic Public Personnel Administration written by Ali Farazmand and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2006-12-30 with total page 523 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The history of public personnel administration is as old as human civilization itself: Persia, China, Assyria, Egypt, and Rome all practiced strategic personnel management, some systematically and others unsystematically. But despite the longstanding practice of strategic public personnel administration, the systematic study of this field is a fairly new development in the modern world. Today, the need for strategic thinking in public personnel administration and human capital development is more urgent than ever before. Managing and coping with the challenges of transworld migrations of capital and labor, cyber-employment and virtual workplaces, and relentless global pressures for results-oriented performance all require the development of human capital as a key asset of modern governments and private organizations. Governments and public administration organizations must confront these challenges if they are to survive and thrive in the 21st century, and Strategic Public Personnel Administration provides a comprehensive analysis of the past development and current function of the field so as to give a clearly balanced picture of public personnel administration in both theory and practice. Today, strategic public personnel management is a central component of strategic governance and administration in public and nonprofit organizations. Strategic personnel administration aims to lead organizations along the right paths with the necessary people on hand to achieve strategic goals and objectives in modern governance and public administration. This two-volume set fills a major gap in the current literature, and it will serve as a key work that addresses the history, knowledge, policy, management, process, and culture of public personnel administration with a strategic perspective.
