Book The High Potential s Advantage

Download or read book The High Potential s Advantage written by Jay Conger and published by Harvard Business Press. This book was released on 2017-12-19 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do You Know What It Takes to Be a High Potential in Your Organization? Being seen as a high-potential leader is essential to getting promoted and reaching your organization's upper echelons, but most companies keep their top-talent list a closely guarded secret. And the assessment process they use to decide who is and isn't a future leader is an even greater mystery. The High Potential's Advantage takes you behind the scenes and shows how you can get on, and stay on, your company's fast track. Leadership development experts Jay Conger and Allan Church draw upon decades of research and experience--designing high-potential programs for hundreds of large well-known global organizations and assessing and coaching thousands of talented leaders--to answer the critical questions asked by ambitious individuals like you: What will it take for me to advance in this organization? What does my boss look for when deciding whether I’m a high potential? Once I'm on the list, then what? Can I fall off it and, if so, what do I do? Revealing the key differentiators--five critical "X factors"--that set people apart across companies of all types, Conger and Church show what you need to do to achieve and maintain top-talent status. You’ll find detailed advice for cultivating and practicing each X factor, with numerous and rich examples from those on the verge of their first promotion to those only a step away from the C-suite. The High Potential's Advantage also shows you how to gain insight into and excel at the specific process your company uses to identify and develop high potentials--and how to determine which unique capabilities your company values the most. The High Potential's Advantage is the essential guide to becoming a leader in your organization.

Download or read book Potential Health Benefits of Biologically Active Peptides Derived from Underutilized Grains Recent Advances in their Isolation Identification Bioactivity and Molecular Analysis written by Erik G. Tovar-Pérez and published by Bentham Science Publishers. This book was released on 2023-05-23 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is a complete review of the cutting-edge scientific evidence about the isolation, identification, bioactivity and molecular analysis of the biologically active peptides (BAPs) obtained from several underutilized grains. It provides a general review of current and new technologies in isolating and bioprospecting BAPs before going into the details of 11 grains. Amaranth, quinoa, millet, buckwheat, sorghum, lupin, mung bean, chickpea, broad bean, cocoa bean and chia are extensively discussed in dedicated chapters. Additionally, these chapters provide information about the characteristics of the crop, its main varieties, traditional uses, economic importance, nutritional aspects, structure and chemical composition of the grains, as well as the classification and distribution of the grain protein fractions. Moreover, the advances in the analytical techniques used for the concentration, purification and molecular characterization of BAPs are described. The impact of BAPs in the promotion of health is highlighted, as well as their potential incorporation as promising ingredients in the development of functional foods, nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals. Finally, the main findings related to the potential antiviral and anti-COVID-19 activities of BAPs derived from underutilized grains are described. This reference will be of interest for academics, professionals and researchers focused in food science, biotechnology, pharmacology and agriculture, and to professionals involved in the research and development of natural products, pharmaceuticals and cosmeceuticals.

Book Benefits and Potential Risks of the Lactoperoxidase System of Raw Milk Preservation

Download or read book Benefits and Potential Risks of the Lactoperoxidase System of Raw Milk Preservation written by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and published by Food & Agriculture Org.. This book was released on 2006 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This technical meeting was jointly organised by the Animal Production and the Food Quality and Standards Services of the FAO of the United Nations, in cooperation with the Department of Food Safety, Zoonoses and Foodborne Disease , WHO to obtain the best available scientific advice on issues related to the use of the lactoperoxidase system (LP-s) in raw milk preservation. After reviewing the available scientific information (References, Appendix A and B), thetechnical meeting concluded that the LP-s is a safe method of preventing milk losses due tomicrobial spoilage when used according to the Codex guidelines either alone or in combination with other approved procedures. The LP-s is particularly suitable for application in situations where technical, economical and/or practical reasons do not allow the use of cooling facilities for maintaining the quality of raw milk. Use of the LP-s does not preclude or replace the need for the pasteurization of raw milk to improve safety for human consumption.

Book Investigations into the Potential Benefits of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to Surgical Oncologists

Download or read book Investigations into the Potential Benefits of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to Surgical Oncologists written by Marco Scarpa and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2023-08-11 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computational power has risen exponentially in recent decades, providing new opportunities in many fields, including that of surgical oncology. One branch of information technology permeating many aspects of healthcare is artificial intelligence (AI), and the incorporation of deep learning neural networks into clinical care. AI enables the computational analysis of vast amounts of data, and the learned ability to contextualize this information digitally through sophisticated algorithms, opening a number of opportunities in the clinical setting. This Research Topic aims to bring together the latest research in the field to demonstrate how these tools can be of benefit to surgical oncologists and patients alike. Oncological surgeons are tasked with making difficult clinical decisions, simultaneously weighing up patient data with expected outcomes, whilst keeping in mind the risks of subsequent morbidity and mortality. Incorporating deep learning algorithms in this field would enable mass clinical, biochemical, and radiological data analysis with numerous potential benefits. Current algorithms have been shown to be efficacious and efficient in making prognostic predictions and making post-surgical outcome assessments using data from various sources. This Research Topic invites manuscript submissions which demonstrate utilizations of AI as a tool to support surgical oncologists through their advanced data analysis capabilities. Manuscript submissions which showcase new opportunities for the incorporation of these systems into surgical practice are welcome, as well as how AI can support clinical decision making, and be used in the training of new oncological surgeons.
