Book The Laws of Human Nature

Download or read book The Laws of Human Nature written by Robert Greene and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2018-10-23 with total page 626 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the #1 New York Times-bestselling author of The 48 Laws of Power comes the definitive new book on decoding the behavior of the people around you Robert Greene is a master guide for millions of readers, distilling ancient wisdom and philosophy into essential texts for seekers of power, understanding and mastery. Now he turns to the most important subject of all - understanding people's drives and motivations, even when they are unconscious of them themselves. We are social animals. Our very lives depend on our relationships with people. Knowing why people do what they do is the most important tool we can possess, without which our other talents can only take us so far. Drawing from the ideas and examples of Pericles, Queen Elizabeth I, Martin Luther King Jr, and many others, Greene teaches us how to detach ourselves from our own emotions and master self-control, how to develop the empathy that leads to insight, how to look behind people's masks, and how to resist conformity to develop your singular sense of purpose. Whether at work, in relationships, or in shaping the world around you, The Laws of Human Nature offers brilliant tactics for success, self-improvement, and self-defense.

Book excerpt: Materialist science tells us that there is a normal specification to what a human being is, and what it is capable of doing. A human being has a limit to what it can do, and we see that pattern everyday in all walks of life. There is nothing beyond that. For this reason the many things described by people that are outside of this limit, outside normal, must therefore be false, contrived, deceptions or lies. This is what we are constantly told regarding all sorts of phenomena that are in fact continually displayed by people. These are real phenomena that go beyond normal, beyond the imaginary limit, and have been extensively scientifically researched. It is phenomena ignored as part of a human beings nature. However, it is the evidence that allows us to glimpse the more hidden, Real Nature, of mankind. It shows who we are, where we come from, and where we belong, and then other things start to come into place. The implications begin to run out far and wide that many of the problems we have are due to not recognising who we are originally. Recognising who we are originally and seeing that we are Spirit, and that there is inherent meaning to what we are, even if unclear at times, makes us see the transcendent side of our Nature. This High Nature is that part of a human being he usually calls his soul. Unfortunately, he has had the notion that since his soul is non-material it only activates at the moment of his death and so it is only then that it comes into its own. The evidence of man's astonishing, remarkable experiences contradicts that assumption, and shows the soul as active throughout all of life. The soul is the High Nature, is a person's core, our non-material essence, existing before we were born, arriving and embedding in a body before birth on Earth. Our High Nature is the vital element beneath our local, surface self, and our experiences of the physical world. This High Nature is in partnership with one's ordinary self's consciousness, enabling meaningfulness and structure in our experiences of that world. A person's High Nature operates independently of his intentions and outside his surface self, although they blend together as one psyche to give our world the reality that it has, given to it because of who a human with a High Nature is.

Book Man s Two Natures Human and Divine

Download or read book Man s Two Natures Human and Divine written by Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov and published by Editions Prosveta. This book was released on 2013-07-31 with total page 93 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Presentation Learn to discern where our impulses come from. Evolution has placed human beings on the frontiers of the animal world and the higher world, considered divine. This situation is thus at the origin of the ambiguity of our nature, double, at the same time lower and higher. Complementary as spirit and matter are, these two natures should help us develop harmoniously: by learning to dominate the first and by working to awaken the second. 'The majority of human beings belong to the group without light. They talk about rediscovering Nature and obeying the natural laws, but which nature are they talking about? There are two natures in man, one lower, one higher. People think they are obeying Nature when in fact they are doing something exactly opposite to their higher Nature, whereas others concentrate on their divine Nature and do everything in their power to subjugate and restrict the impulses of their human nature. Confusion reigns in people’s minds and that is why it is so important to make them realize that a higher Nature exists in them, which expresses itself quite differently from the human nature they inherited from the animal kingdom.' Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov Table of contents 1 - Human Nature or Animal Nature? 2 - The Lower Self is a Reflection 3 - Man's True Identity 4 - Methods of Escape 5 - The Sun Symbolizes the Divine Nature 6 - Put the Personality to Work 7 - Perfection Comes with the Higher Self 8 - The Silent Voice of the Higher Self 9 - Only by Serving the Divine Nature 10 - Address the Higher Self in Others 11 - Man's Return to God, the Victory

Book Gibran Rihani Naimy

Download or read book Gibran Rihani Naimy written by Aida Imangulieva and published by Anqa Publishing. This book was released on 2010-04-01 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published in Russian during the final years of the Soviet Union, this volume examines the influences of foreign literary movements, specifically Romanticism and Realism, on the three authors examined within. By viewing Gibran and Rihani's works in the light of English poets such as Wordsworth, Byron, and Shelley and American writers such as Emerson and Whitman—and by exploring Naimy through the lens of the Russian Realist tradition, drawing parallels specifically with the work of Belinsky, Tolstoy, Turgenev, and the Chekhovian tradition—this work provides an unusual window into the Arab world's cultural interaction with Europe, America, and Russia in the early 20th century. At the same time, it reaches beyond its academic scope and reveals universal elements that speak to all people and go beyond cultural frameworks altogether.
