Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The True Story of Murder on Music Row through the eyes of the sole survivor, Sammy Sadler. “A story of survival. A story of revival. A story that had to be told. An incredible read that will keep you on the edge of your seat!” - Country Music Star Deborah Allen In 1989, country newcomer Sammy Sadler had already charted several critically-acclaimed singles and was ready to release his first album when he was shot during the assassination of then Cash Box chart-manager, Kevin Hughes, an incident known around the world as the “Murder on Music Row.” The police had no suspects, and even though Sammy suffered a nearly fatal bullet wound, the officers kept him under suspicion during the 13-year investigation. Eventually, the investigation would reveal an elaborate web of corruption, chart-rigging and payola, a clear motive and suspect for the murder. An ending that rocked the music industry for many years to come. In this first-hand account, Sadler recounts his personal and sensational journey from wide-eyed, promising, Top-40 newcomer to “person of interest” and survivor of one of the most infamous killings in the music business. From his struggle to recover from his nearly-fatal injuries to the turmoil endured during the 13-year career-throttling investigation, this autobiographical account is a demonstration of his faith and his resilient passion for music that would allow him to move forward and continue to pursue his dreams. Download or read book Hanif Kureishi written by Bart Moore-Gilbert and published by Manchester University Press. This book was released on 2024-07-30 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first book-length study of one of Britain's most successful young writers. His work in a range of genres, from drama to film, fiction and short stories, has elicited widespread critical acclaim and - at times - provoked sharp condemnation. Provides a detailed account of his work to date, from Kureishi's early involvement in 'fringe' theatre (an area generally ignored hitherto), to the short story collections. Locates Kureishi's work securely in its historical, social, cultural and critical contexts, as well as providing detailed readings of all the major works. Kureishi is an important writer due to his intervention into such modish topics as British identity, questions of race, aspects of gender and choice of genre.
Download or read book Love Is a Cause written by Anna Prinzi and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-08-31 with total page 97 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote these short stories from when I turned 25, back in 1994 to when I was 35.They are a painstaking compilation of imaginary journeys hat record the brief and erotic edge on which I presumed to live. During those years I may have lived actively for a universal cause (as in motive and provocation), namely that of a crucial and abstract phenomenon which our species predominantly refers to as Love, which once again, for me remained confounding and a little hard core, in an elemental sense. I did not ever own a camera so I recorded sensual data through descriptive writing, hopefully capturing those intense and illuminating moments of bliss and abandon, in a literary form. Like photographs, I could always access these experiences if I ever had to recall those years. The characters and locations and events are essentially fictitious and are the sole creations of my imagination. Whatsoever seems traceable to fact is as they say in the movies, purely coincidental. Randomly included are illustrations from an altogether later stage than previously mentioned. These are from my Pop Art series which I painted in 2009 as an art pupil which contain cinematic references. As part of this collection their input remains aesthetic. However you are at liberty to interpret them as you feel. I hope you enjoy the fallacy, myth and desirous energy that illustrates the colourful, vibrant, bold, messy, loud, soft and sticky world of Love is A Cause.(When Virtues are lost to Ludicrous, Erotic & Manic Forms of Being).

Past Lives Unveiled takes a fresh, new look at past lives and reincarnation. It features some highly unusual case studies, including two intriguing hypnotic regressions by eminent psychologist, author and past life expert Dr Michael Newton. Two sisters were regressed independently by Dr Newton and went back to life in a Stone Age tribe, details of which have until now been limited to members of the Newton Institute. The author, Barry Eaton, was regressed by Peter Smith, a past-life expert and international president of the Newton Institute. Graphic visitations to ancient Greece and also the US at the time of the Civil War make absorbing reading.
