Assigned as Margery’s mentor in the pack, he patiently works to earn the skittish little wolf’s trust. Her captivity has left her with problems, including a fear of uniforms. But he’s a fixer at heart—and he’s starting to want more from the gentle female than just friendship. Donal has no intention of making a family. Separated from his littermate for years, Donal has remained unmated, devoting his energies to healing. Believing ugly rumors about their new neighbor—a banfasa—he won't have her in his clinic or his life—no matter what his newly returned brother wants. But a feral shifter’s attack on Tynan shows Margery in a whole different light. She’s levelheaded, compassionate, sweet—and far too appealing. What male could resist her? But even as the brothers work to win their mate, cruel forces move to crush their entire clan.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first-ever comprehensive introduction to traditional Filipino healing practices—featuring rare photographs and insights into the roots and modern-day rituals of this ancient shamanic and spiritual belief system. “. . . brilliantly blends the art and science of the sacred teachings of Filipino traditional healing to help people find their path toward health and happiness.” —Deepak Chopra Way of the Ancient Healer provides an overview of the rich tradition of Filipino healing practices, discussing their origins, world influences, and role in daily life. Enhanced with over 200 photographs and illustrations, the book combines years of historical research with detailed descriptions of the spiritual belief system that forms the foundation of these practices. Giving readers a rare look at modern-day Filipino healing rituals, the book also includes personal examples from author Virgil Mayor Apostol’s own experiences with shamanic healing and dream interpretation. The book begins with an explanation of Apostol’s Filipino lineage and legacy as a healer. After a brief history of the Philippine archipelago, he describes the roots of traditional Filipino healing and spirituality, and discusses the Indian, Islamic, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and American influences that have impacted the Filipino culture. He presents a thorough description of Filipino shamanic and spiritual practices that have developed from the concept that everything in nature contains a spirit (animism) and that living in the presence of spirits demands certain protocols and rituals for interacting with them. The book’s final chapter thoughtfully explores the spiritual tools used in Filipino healing–talismans, amulets, stones, and other natural symbols of power.

Book excerpt: A radically fresh interpretation of how we can best serve others from the bestselling author of The Return of the Prodigal Son, hailed as “one of the world’s greatest spiritual writers” by Christianity Today “In our own woundedness, we can become a source of life for others.” In this hope-filled and profoundly simple book, Henri Nouwen inspires devoted men and women who want to be of service in their church or community but who have found traditional outreach alienating and ineffective. Weaving keen cultural analysis with his psychological and religious insights, Nouwen presents a balanced and creative theology of service that begins with the realization of fundamental woundedness in human nature. According to Nouwen, ministers are called to identify the suffering in their own hearts and make that recognition the starting point of their service. Ministers must be willing to go beyond their professional, somewhat aloof roles and leave themselves open as fellow human beings with the same wounds and suffering as those they serve. In other words, we heal from our wounds. The Wounded Healer is a thoughtful and insightful guide that will be welcomed by anyone engaged in the service of others.

Book The Healer of Healers

Download or read book The Healer of Healers written by Daniel F. Owsley and published by Booktango. This book was released on 2012-03-10 with total page 47 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 1 In the book the Healer of Healersthe healing ministry of Christ is looked at with the greatest awe. For there were times when He healed all that came unto Him. And it came to pass that time swiftly raced to the most wonderful place where the reality of Matthew 12:15-18 hit harder than a home run, when that Apostle of God's Word hit everything clean out of the park that came His way. 2 It there went on to say, that our Son of Jubilee had many people pressing in on Him, so He could touch them, so they could receive some supernatural healing of the very best kind; For they were inflicted with some awful "plagues" that are much too foul to ever describe. 3 Even the words of Luke 6:17-19 rang out more than true back then. For "virtue" speedily flowed "out of" our Living Passover, as the real upset spirit of death had to quickly get away from everyone that looked towards Christ Jesus with the eyes of a doe. 4 But the foul "unclean spirits" that were in those sickened souls immediately "fell down" before His steadfast glory, as their quivering voices silently shrieked out, "Thou art the Son of God." 5 But that Giver of The Call of Repentance "charged them that they should not make Him known." 'Twas the hour the word anonymous was born. 6 After all, our Lamp Stand of Glory only wanted His Father to receive such from the work of His hands. Nor was there anyone who was more humble than that Manifested Honey of the Heavens. 7 Any ways, getting back on track, in spite of the desire that our Master Carpenter had about remaining anonymous, the word was out. 8 For it was written that Jesus was followed by "great multitudes" of those who were very sick, and impotent, and "He healed them all." 9 And all of that happened at the edge of the Mediterranean sea, just as Mark 3:7-12 long ago recorded. But since our Justifier of Multitudes was being crowded a bit, He quickly told His disciples that they should have a boat waiting for Him at the shore, in case those people crowded Him a little too much. For He wanted some elbow room! 10 But after everything was done, that Bestower of those Beholdings then asked all of those thankful souls keep the news of those miraculous feats quiet, so Isaiah 42:1 might be fulfilled, that He wouldn't "strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear His voice in the streets." 'twas the moment of Q.T. 11 It also came about, just as Matt.14:34 said, that our conquering Son of Wholeness came into the land of Gennesaret to do His Father's will. 12 And everyone from that area was brought unto that Hyssop of the Ages to "touch the hem of His garment." And every single soul that reached out in faith to that Restorer of All Things were instantly "made perfectly whole" as soon as they touched His clothing. 13 For that Living Eternal Salvation was dressed in the light of His Father's strongest presence; And the glory of His remarkable love was easily able to cast away the kind of garbage that the devil long ago sent towards Man to destroy them in every way possible.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This fascinating account of a Yale-trained psychiatrist's twenty-year experience with Native American healing interweaves autobiography with stories of the Native Americans who challenged his medical school assumptions about their methods. While working as a family physicans in a Native American hospital in the Southwest, Carl Hammerschlag was introduced to a patient named Santiago, a Pueblo priest and clan chief, who asked him where he had learned how to heal. Hammerschlag responded almost by rote, rattling off his medical education, intership, and certification. The old man replied,"Do you know how to dance?" To humor Santiago, Hammerschlag shuffled his feet at the priest's bedside. Despite his condition, Santiago got up and demonstrated the proper steps. "You must be able to dance if you are to heal people,"he admonished the young doctor."I can teach you my steps, but you will have to hear your own music." Hammerschlag synthesizes his Jewish heritage with his experience with Native Americans to produce a practice open to all methods of healing. He discovers the wisdom of the Pueblo priest's question to his Western doctor, "Do you know how to dance?"

Book Ashkenazi Herbalism

Download or read book Ashkenazi Herbalism written by Deatra Cohen and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2021-04-06 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The definitive guide to the medicinal plant knowledge of Ashkenazi herbal healers--from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Until now, the herbal traditions of the Ashkenazi people have remained unexplored and shrouded in mystery. Ashkenazi Herbalism rediscovers the forgotten legacy of the Jewish medicinal plant healers who thrived in Eastern Europe's Pale of Settlement, from their beginnings in the Middle Ages through the modern era. Including the first materia medica of 26 plants and herbs essential to Ashkenazi folk medicine, Ashkenazi Herbalism sheds light on the preparations, medicinal profiles, and applications of a rich but previously unknown herbal tradition--one hidden by language barriers, obscured by cultural misunderstandings, and nearly lost to history. Written for new and established practitioners, it offers illustrations, provides information on comparative medicinal practices, and illuminates the important historical and cultural contexts that gave rise to Eastern European Jewish herbalism. Part I introduces a brief history of the Ashkenazim and provides an overview of traditional medicine among Eastern European Jews. Part II offers a comparative overview of healing customs among Jews of the Pale of Settlement, their many native plants, and the remedies applied by local healers to treat a range of illnesses. This materia medica names each plant in Yiddish, English, Latin, and other relevant languages, and the book also details a brief history of medicine; the roles of the ba'alei shem, feldshers, opshprekherins, midwives, and brewers; and the remedy books used by Jewish healers.

Book There s a Healer in the House

Download or read book There s a Healer in the House written by Ed Dufresne and published by . This book was released on 1993-06 with total page 89 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Oh, healing is God's will for people! He even let the children of Israel receive healing, 'on credit' - and then Jesus came and picked up the tab! He hung on the cross to pay for it, and as He hung there, He became sin. He paid the price for us. Religious people can't handle that. Their brain goes 'tilt'! But that's the essence of the Gospel. These truths are what Paul was referring to when he said, 'I don't want to know anything but Him crucified.' This is where the power of God is! This is where you'll find deliverance that outshines mere religion." - Ed Dufresne from "There's A Healer In the House"

Krista Mitchell (Change Your Energy) is a master at crystal healing, and with Crystal Reiki, she has created a handbook for practitioners both amateur and professional. This hot new technique combines crystal layouts with energy healing to treat a variety of ailments. Fully illustrated and easy to use, this comprehensive guide teaches the fundamentals of working with crystals and chakras; explains how healers should prepare themselves, their space, and their tools; covers four levels of healing that include auras, body, mind, and spirit; and stresses the importance of self-care for healers themselves. Known as the “Rock Whisperer,” Krista N. Mitchell has created an informative handbook for professional Reiki practitioners who would like to learn how to combine crystal healing with their Reiki sessions. She takes a thorough and practical approach, beginning with the history and science of the combined modality, and its healing impact on the human energy body including the aura and chakra systems. Krista outlines the process from the beginning, discussing ways of preparing your energy, tools and space and starting a session with a client, and provides crystal healing layouts along with case studies as examples of how she applies the protocols for physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and aura healing.
