Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We've all been to Haunted House Attractions on Halloween that have people made up to be scary-looking to scare us even though it is all fake, and we know it, but we don't care we just want to be scared. Meet Henry Adams he loves going to haunted attractions but was getting bored and not scared anymore, so he decided he was going to make his Haunted attraction which would be to die for literally. Henry wants to be the envy of all Halloween attractions and he is going to do it in a deadly way. Henry knew if he was going to pull this off it had to be done in a big way. Halloween was just a couple of months away, and he had to think of something special to do that would alleviate his loneliness in the dilapidated Mansion out in the country where he was living all alone. Then out of the blue, he said, "I know just the perfect thing to do this Halloween, and that would be to turn my mansion into a real-life Haunted Mansion, but this has to be the real thing not just a bunch of props. That night as Henry was daydreaming about what to do on his couch he wasn't about to doze off because if he did he probably would forget. Henry immediately got off the couch turned on the light, and got a piece of paper to write down his thoughts and act on them in the morning. After about an hour, and nonstop writing Henry finally passed out on the couch with a beer in one hand, and the paper he was writing down his thoughts on was lying on his chest. The beer Henry had in his hand dropped to the floor spilling everywhere, but Henry was fast asleep and didn't hear a thing. Morning finally arrived and Henry awoke to the sunlight beaming through the living room window. Henry wiped his eyes and grabbed his paper full of ideas then stepped down off the couch into a pool of beer getting his socks soaking wet. Henry said, "I must have been out of it last night." Then he went over to the kitchen to get a towel and clean up the spilled beer. He made himself some breakfast and sat at the kitchen table going over his ideas. When he was through eating his breakfast he got on his clothes and took his to-do list with him then got in his car eager to get the things he needed to turn his Mansion into a real-life Haunted Mansion. Henry went into town to the Halloween store for a fog machine to give his yard the kind of look that you would see in scary movies. He also got things from the Halloween store such as spooky music, strobe lights, black lights, and cobwebs. Henry was excited to see his fantasy unfolding right in front of him.

A gift for all the fans of the words mystery, thriller, suspense, murder, occult, sprinkled with romance. "I've constantly imagined a box office movie, while shaping and drawing my characters and the storyline. I felt for Jennifer by seeing the world through her eyes. I wondered about what will happen next from the "watcher's" (reader's) point of view. That is how I created this series," states the author about her first fiction novel from the "Jennifer" series. Starting with intriguing but mild scenes, the plot develops into a highly sophisticated mystery tale about power, influence and knowledge, with deep explorations inside religion, myth, the occult and bloodthirsty cults. All for one cause ... Everything about the Fallen Angels gives you shivers down your spine. They are a secret group with more power that you can imagine. The book meets your "clever and catchy" expectations. It has a great plot with well-developed characters, a lot of excitement and suspense about what's around the corner. You can empathize with one or more characters from the books, since the palette is wide. The skeletons from the closet encompass our own personal fears. Cristina connects the dots carefully, revealing her story in a uniquely tailored setting. At the end, she leaves some mysteries for the readers to solve, letting their imagination grow. Until ... next time, when the storyline and all its details will be unveiled in the coming books of the series, without compromising the integrity of each individual book. The mystery and thrills run all throughout. Enjoy the thrill!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "A sophisticated yet playful celebration of all things macabre, morbid and marvelous . . . Bannatyne makes a great case for celebrating Halloween everyday, all year long. . . . It's an energetic, thorough and breathless salute to everyone's favorite horror holiday." -Chris Alexander, editor in chief, Fangoria magazine "No one else has delved so deeply-and lovingly-into the mysteries of Halloween." -Dr. Jeanne Keyes Youngson, president and founder, the Vampire Empire It took two years of investigative work for Halloween authority Lesley Pratt Bannatyne to add a fifth book to her collection. Traveling across the country, she visited and talked with fanatics and fang makers, professional haunters, registered mediums, psychologists, and Halloween enthusiasts ranging from NPR's Garrison Keillor to Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger and The Simpsons' "Treehouse of Horror" writer Mike Reiss to find out what the increasingly popular holiday means to people and how they celebrate it. Through the course of her research, Bannatyne attended a seance for Houdini, a Samhain ritual gathering, a World Zombie Day event, and the Haunted Attraction National Tradeshow and Convention (HAuNTcon). Diving right into the heart of how fear turned into a form of entertainment, she asks hard-hitting questions: What kind of community does twenty-first-century Halloween create? Why are we so afraid of dead bodies? In the battle between Christmas and Halloween fought by Zombie Clauses, who deserves to win?

Book excerpt: The Halloween Children are watching—they’re always watching in this chilling novel of suburban horror from Bram Stoker Award winner Norman Prentiss and Brian James Freeman of Cemetery Dance Publications. The accommodations at Stillbrook Apartments aren’t exactly glamorous, but they’re quiet, affordable, and well maintained. The handyman is usually available to help with a leak or a broken bulb, his wife and two adorable kids often tagging along. When occasion dictates, the neighbors gather to wish each other well and spread the requisite holiday cheer. Everything’s very nice. Very normal. But as Halloween approaches, strange occurrences are happening all around Stillbrook. The children tell disturbing stories, bizarre noises bleed through the walls, and one abandoned unit is found to be inhabited by something sinister—something that’s no longer alive. For the safety of the tenants, the Halloween party has been canceled. There will be no decorations or masks, no candied apples or witch’s brew. But without treats to divert the Halloween Children, they have no choice but to play some very nasty tricks. Praise for The Halloween Children “From the great, early slow build of the book to the terrifying, satisfying payoff, The Halloween Children is a complete success.”—October Country “This is a disturbing, claustrophobic, enjoyable read that encompasses everything Halloween should be.”—Monster Librarian “I highly recommend this book to fans of Halloween and horror!”—Cedar Hollow Horror Reviews “A fantastic collaboration between two amazing authors, this is a book that will stay with you long after you close the [book].”—The Behrg Writes

Book The Haunted House and Mouse

Download or read book The Haunted House and Mouse written by AQEEL AHMED and published by AQEEL AHMED. This book was released on 2024-02-15 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An old, decaying building hidden in a distant location of dense, foggy woodland murmured secrets and intrigue. The Haunted House was a popular attraction that sparked both curiosity and dread. However, a small, adventurous mouse named Max, an unexpected explorer, managed to notice this forbidding house. Max saw the mansion as a blank canvas of uncharted wonder, a place where his adventurous spirit might soar, unlike others who feared the weird muttering within. Max fearlessly and enlighteningly entered the center of the Haunted House. He ventured deeper into its hallways, pushing past the specters of fear and the shadows of uncertainty, and encountered the spirits of untold stories rather than the specters of fright. Max met a variety of surprising acquaintances here, amidst the dust and vestiges of the past: Oliver, a ghostly chef with cupcakes to spare; Sophie, a shy spider with stories to tell; and a host of other charming ghosts, each with their own story of their time spent living within the home's walls. They embark on a voyage of metamorphosis together, changing the once-dreaded Haunted House into a haven of comfort and welcome. After years of neglect, Max and his friends restored and cleaned, revealing the beauty that had been hidden. They revealed that the house's true essence was love, laughter, and memories yearning to be rediscovered, rather than dread. Max's adventure became a lesson for everybody who heard it. He demonstrated that bravery is the resolve to confront fear, not the absence of it. He demonstrated how compassion could unlock even the most tightly shut doors, and how teamwork could make even the most arduous jobs pleasurable. The Haunted House, once a symbol of horror, today stands as a testament to the ability to see beyond outward appearances, embrace the unknown, and find the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary. Max and the Haunted House is more than just an adventure tale; it is a reminder that many wonders are hidden around us, ready to be discovered by those who have the guts to seek them out. It demonstrates that the people and places we fear the most can sometimes hold the most valuable riches, and that with a little bravery, empathy, and teamwork, we can change not just our impressions of the world, but also its reality. Chapter 1: Max's Inquisitiveness Max was a unique little mouse with an incredibly brave and inquiring heart. Max was always looking for something more, something thrilling and unknown, as opposed to his pals, who were content with the simple life of chasing cheese and staying warm in their tiny tunnels. He believed that there were many mysteries in the world waiting to be solved, and he aspired to be the one to do so. He walked deeper into the forest than any other mouse had dared to go before, far from his warm home, motivated by his need for adventure. Max's little feet led him to a location most people would avoid on a particularly misty morning, when the woodland was shrouded in a thick layer of fog that made everything appear mysterious and bizarre. The Haunted House loomed there, towering over the old trees with its intimidating presence. Among the woodland creatures, it was a fabled spot that was talked about in whispers and watched with a mix of curiosity and terror. The home remained an empty monument to the unknown, with ghost stories and strange noises scaring visitors away. But Max saw an opportunity where others saw threat. His small heartbeat seems enthusiastic about the prospect of exploring the house rather than scared. It was more than just an ancient, creepy structure to him; it was a buried treasure trove waiting to be unearthed. He imagined himself roaming its hallways, uncovering stories hidden beneath the layers of time, and proving to everyone that there was nothing to be afraid of. Max had a sense of purpose that he had never felt before as he stood in the heart of the famed Haunted House, with all of its secrets and tales revealed before him. Max confidently waved his tail as he approached the Haunted House's towering entryway. He did not even wait to cast a brief check behind him. The walls' moaning and the creaking of the old wood seemed like a welcome song, inviting him inside to explore what lay on the other side. Max was ready to face whatever the house had in store for him because he knew a great adventure required courage. He was an adventurer on the verge of making a huge discovery, demonstrating that even the smallest creatures may have the biggest hearts and the bravest goals with each step he took inside the old building. Chapter 2: The Entrance.
