Book The Future Kingdom of God

Download or read book The Future Kingdom of God written by Fr. Steven Scherrer and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2010-12-01 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The kingdom of God is not explained anywhere in the New Testament, yet it seems to be everywhere understood. No explanation was ever needed, and so none was given. In The Future Kingdom of God: A Present Reality and Our Blessed Hope, author Father Steven Scherrer presents an in-depth study of the kingdom of God as it appears in the scriptures. Based on an edited collection of original sermons and essays revolving around the New Testament doctrine of the kingdom of God, this thorough discussion provides a guide for those seeking insight into various aspects about the second coming of Jesus Christ. Some of the topics on which the essays reflect include the splendor of the kingdom of God now present, as seen in the Churchs Advent and Christmas liturgies; the millennial hope as the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy; the enchanted expectation of the Parousia, as seen in the Churchs autumn liturgies; the longing to be found innocent in holiness at the coming of the Lord. Using the scriptures and examples from the Bible, The Future Kingdom of God demonstrates how Christians can, by faith, now live in the splendor of Gods kingdom present in their midst.

Book excerpt: Jesus Christ gave His disciples information regarding what to look for in His second coming. The Bible tells us: And as He sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and the end of the world? –Matthew 24:3 But where else does the Bible give us information about His second coming? Moreover, which prophecies have already been fulfilled? In this book, you’ll get answers to questions such as: • How should we think about prophecy as Christians? • When can we expect future prophecies to be fulfilled? • What role do symbols play in prophecy? • What keys will help us understand prophecy? The central theme of prophecy is to point you and me to Jesus. It is redemptive in value. God wants us to know that He knows the future and that He has a plan for you and me. Written for all walks of life, the advanced student, as well as the beginner, this biblically rooted book will renew your faith as you walk with the Lord and find fulfillment.

Book Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy

Download or read book Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy written by J. Barton Payne and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2020-09-30 with total page 782 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After twenty years of research, Dr. J. Barton Payne has compiled the one complete guide to Biblical prophecy. From the prediction of Adam's death in Genesis 2: 17 to the prophecy of mankind's perpetual worship of God in the new heaven and earth (Psalm 72:5), the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY discusses every verse of prophetic matter in Scripture. It identifies every probable point of fulfillment whether in the past, present, or still in the future. The first 144 pages of the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY set forth a systematic approach to the subject of Biblical prophecy and the legitimate place for prediction in it. The ENCYCLOPEDIA is arranged according to the 66 books of the Bible. In each book, all the verses on one prophetic theme are treated in one combined discussion. For example: The 12 verses of Genesis that foretell God's granting of the land of Canaan to the descendants of Abraham are discussed together. It is then shown how the promise was fulfilled in the days of Joshua. One of the ENCYCLOPEDIA'S concluding summaries lists all the 737 major subjects that appear in Biblical prediction, with the books and paragraphs in which each is found. This way, each prophecy can be traced from its first appearance in the Bible to its last. Among the many features is a complete list of all the Scriptural prophecies pertaining to Christ. No other book has ever examined Biblical prophecy so thoroughly or presented it in such a balanced perspective as the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY. •1,817 entries covering all the Biblical predictions in both the Old and New Testaments •A complete discussion of all 8,352 predictive verses in the Bible •14 tables, including three on the Book of Revelation •Bibliography •4 summaries •4 statistical appendixes •5 complete indexes An indispensable tool for students of the Bible, for students in theological seminaries and Bible colleges, for pastors as a reference guide, and for concerned lay people. The ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY is certain to bring a fresh understanding and rewarding insights of the bible.

Download or read book Thy Kingdom Came written by Michael F. Blume and published by . This book was released on 2014-05-24 with total page 760 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What difference would it make to our theology if we knew that Jesus presently rules from every throne that He is ever going to sit upon? All of the prophecies about His Kingdom are in effect already. So many think "Endtime Prophecy" is not important today, and that there are more important things to focus upon now, since those things have not even happened yet. They're about the future. But what if the Kingdom prophecies of Christ's dominion were already fulfilled millennia ago? With all of the New Testament focus upon leading of the Spirit, overcoming sin, Satan, the world, and even our own flesh, is the last book of the Bible, the Book of Revelation, really about Chinese armies, nuclear wars, Cobra helicopters and computer chips? Revelation is a "signifying" book of visionary symbols only understood when comparing it with the rest of the Bible. Read how John was told that its events were at hand 2,000 years ago. Learn how Revelation's storyline parallels the Exodus of Israel in astounding ways to understand what the mark of the Beast really is. See how Christ currently sits upon the Throne of David. Bible Prophecy was the launching pad of inspiration for faith from which the early Church went forth into the world in the first century. That makes eschatology a very important subject for the believer today, because it shows us more about our true positions as believers in the world better than any other prophetic perspective can.

Book Daniel s Fourth Kingdom

Download or read book Daniel s Fourth Kingdom written by Melvin L. Hawkins LLC and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2021-10-28 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although there is broad consensus among Bible prophecy scholars that the times of the gentiles will continue until the return of Jesus Christ, the century-old, traditional interpretation holds that Daniel’s fourth, gentile kingdom (the Roman Empire) ceased to exist in AD 476 in the West at Rome and, therefore, must be “revived” politically in the beginning of the seven-year tribulation period. That prevailing viewpoint is obscuring a clear understanding of the continuing existence of the fourth kingdom as well as its fulfillment in history of important prophecies related to the end times. Peters forewarned about this potential interpretation problem in The Theocratic Kingdom (1884). Daniel’s Fourth Kingdom: (1) establishes that the divided Roman Empire still exists today and explains why that fact matters regarding the season of Christ’s return; (2) respectfully questions the traditional interpretation; (3) exhorts the church to love not the temporal kingdoms of this world but, instead, to embrace her gospel-inspired, Holy Spirit-empowered, love-driven, apolitical, evangelical mission to share the gospel with all nations while expecting the possibly imminent pretribulation rapture; and (4) invites all readers, believers and skeptics alike, to consider the relevance of the Bible concerning world history, current events, and the future.
