The modification would incorporate fuming of the blast furnace slag to recover zinc, which would allow the smelter to accept a broader range of feed materials and to process the existing dump slag at the site. This report describes the results of an engineering feasibility study for a slag fuming facility at the Belledune site performed by Hatch Associates at the request of Brunswick. The feasibility study includes evaluation of implementation options, development of a process design basis, process flowsheet, material and energy balances, plant arrangement, and other engineering required to develop a feasibility-level capital cost estimate.--Document.
