Book The Fourth Dimension Classic Reprint

Download or read book The Fourth Dimension Classic Reprint written by C. Howard Hinton and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-21 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Fourth Dimension I have endeavoured to present the subject of the higher dimensionality of space in a clear manner, devoid of mathematical subtleties and technicalities. In order to engage the interest of the reader, I have in the earlier chapters dwelt on the perspective the hypothesis of a fourth dimension opens, and have treated of the many connections there are between this hypothesis and the ordinary topics of our thoughts. A lack of mathematical knowledge will prove of no disadvantage to the reader, for I have used 110 mathematical processes of reasoning. I have taken the view that the space which we ordinarily think of, the space of real things (which I would call permeable matter), is different from the space treated of by mathematics. Mathematics will tell us a great deal about space, just as the atomic theory will tell us a great deal about the chemical combinations of bodies. But after all, a theory is not precisely equivalent to the subject with regard to which it is held. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Space and the Fourth Dimension Ever since mortal man began his humanly mental attempt to learn the Truth about all things, he has endeavored earnestly to apprehend the real nature of space, time, and matter. Hungering for the apprehen sion of the Whole of Truth, he has expanded his thought in many directions, in his mortal effort to encompass in his thought the vast expanse of the universe, into the bygone ages and into those yet before him, only to reach the point Where he must stop, unable to grasp that concept which mortal limitations can never encompass, namely: infinity. This book was released on 2017-07-16 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Primer of Higher Space (the Fourth Dimension) Memory-haunting phrase, often heard, yet little understood. In this slender volume the author has attempted to explain what is meant by it, and to usher the reader into some of those fascinating halls of thought to which it is the door. Although the exposition is along known and already conventional lines, it is hoped that there is enough new and original matter to justify the book, and enough simplicity of presen tation to justify its title, A Primer of Higher Space. Book The World of the Fourth Dimension

Download or read book The World of the Fourth Dimension written by and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-14 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The World of the Fourth Dimension: And Other Essays There is a widespread idea that in order to succeed and prevail, truth, or true religion, must "grow," and "spread," and "progress" in the world. People who belong, or attach themselves to, cults or sects which think they represent truth, solace themselves with the belief that their truth, since it is truth, is fated to "progress." And they think that therefore they are absolved from any duty or effort in connection with truth other than "following its precepts" and cultivating them; that is, they must simply act as its passive instruments and all will be well. Now it is an absolute and fatal fallacy that truth "grows." It is also fallacious to suppose that what we term growth is a thing of any value whatever. On the contrary, it is an evil. Download or read book The Fourth Dimension and the Bible Classic Reprint written by William Anthony Granville and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-16 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Fourth Dimension and the Bible Pure mathematics is the vanguard of all the sciences, it has marched centuries in advance of them all. For instance, Calculus was discovered nearly two hundred years before the science of Chemistry was far enough advanced to allow the use of Calculus as. One of its instruments of re search. Practically the same thing is true of all the other physical sciences, including engineering. It may he, therefore, that the science of theology is not yet far enough advanced to admit of the ready use of mathematics as an instrument of research. Today mathematicians are forging ahead into' realms of abstract thought and pure logic as never before; judging from. The past, some of the truths which they are revealing now may not be put to what we are pleased to call practical use for centuries to come. Book A Theory of the Mechanism of Survival

Download or read book A Theory of the Mechanism of Survival written by W. Whately Smith and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-03-22 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Theory of the Mechanism of Survival: The Fourth Dimension and Its Applications The highly speculative and extrapolatory character of this book will be evident to all who are bold enough to read it. I wish to make it perfectly clear that I have no intention of dogmatising on so Obscure a subject. The suggestions which follow are purely tentative, and I am well aware that some of them are likely to prove mutually incompatible. But it is only by the bold formulation and ruthless rejection of hypotheses that progress is made, and even if we are compelled to abandon the Higher Space Hypothesis altogether - as is very possible the negative information so gained will be of the greater value if the hypothesis has first been given the fullest possible trial. Download or read book A New Heaven and a New Earth written by Charles Brodie Patterson and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-03-19 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A New Heaven and a New Earth: Or the Way to Life Eternal (Thought Studies of the Fourth Dimension) I believe it to be the legitimate birthright Of every man born into the world to be physically whole and mentally happy. My sole thought in writing this book is that it may bring more light to the minds of those who are seeking af ter a greater knowledge of the laws of life, and Whose earnest desire it is to apply such laws. I would ask of the reader, therefore, a careful, as well as a thoughtful study Of all the ques tions discussed, so that he may test the truth and prove for himself, that profit may accrue to his life as the result of the thought and study given to the contents of this book. I realize how imperfect is the setting for so great a subject as that upon which I have at tempted to write. I prophesy, however, that in the near future some great soul, enlightened by the indwelling spirit, will come forth and give in a larger and more complete way that which I, while seeing, am not fully able to express.
