Book The Finite Temperature QCD Using 2 1 Flavors of Domain Wall Fermions at Nt

Download or read book The Finite Temperature QCD Using 2 1 Flavors of Domain Wall Fermions at Nt written by and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 43 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We study the region of the QCD phase transition using 2+1 flavors of domain wall fermions (DWF) and a 163 x 8 lattice volume with a fifth dimension of L{sub s} = 32. The disconnected light quark chiral susceptibility, quark number susceptibility and the Polyakov loop suggest a chiral and deconfining crossover transition lying between 155 and 185 MeV for our choice of quark mass and lattice spacing. In this region the lattice scale deduced from the Sommer parameter r0 is a−1 (almost equal to) 1.3 GeV, the pion mass is (almost equal to) 300 MeV and the kaon mass is approximately physical. The peak in the chiral susceptibility implies a pseudo critical temperature T{sub c} = 171(10)(17) MeV where the first error is associated with determining the peak location and the second with our unphysical light quark mass and non-zero lattice spacing. The effects of residual chiral symmetry breaking on the chiral condensate and disconnected chiral susceptibility are studied using several values of the valence L{sub s}.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of the Workshop is to have intensive discussions on both theoretical and phenomenological aspects of strong coupling gauge theories (SCGTs), with particular emphasis on the model buildings to be tested in the LHC experiments. Dynamical issues are discussed in lattice simulations and various analytical methods. This proceedings volume is a collection of the presentations made at the Workshop by many leading scientists in the field.

Book Localization and Chiral Symmetry in 2 1 Flavor Domain Wall QCD

Download or read book Localization and Chiral Symmetry in 2 1 Flavor Domain Wall QCD written by and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 14509 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present results for the dependence of the residual mass of domain wall fermions (DWF) on the size of the fifth dimension and its relation to the density and localization properties of low-lying eigenvectors of the corresponding hermitian Wilson Dirac operator relevant to simulations of 2+1 flavor domain wall QCD. Using the DBW2 and Iwasaki gauge actions, we generate ensembles of configurations with a $16^3\times 32$ space-time volume and an extent of 8 in the fifth dimension for the sea quarks. We demonstrate the existence of a regime where the degree of locality, the size of chiral symmetry breaking and the rate of topology change can be acceptable for inverse lattice spacings $a^{-1} \ge 1.6$ GeV.

Book The Chiral and U 1 A Symmetries of the QCD Phase Transition Using Chiral Lattice Fermions

Download or read book The Chiral and U 1 A Symmetries of the QCD Phase Transition Using Chiral Lattice Fermions written by Zhongjie Lin and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With regard to the nature of the finite-temperature QCD phase transition and the fate of the chiral and anomalous axial symmetries associated with it, we present in this thesis two parallel sets of investigations into the QCD phase transition region between 139 and 195 MeV. Both studies adopt the Iwasaki gauge action augmented with the dislocation suppression determinant ratio with 2+1 flavors of chiral fermions. This choice of lattice action accurately reproduces the SU(2)_L × SU(2)_R and U(1)_A symmtries of the continuum. The first study simulates QCD thermodynamics on a line of constant physics that represents 200 MeV pions and physical kaons using domain wall fermions (DWF) at three space-time volumes: 163 × 8, 243 × 8, and 323 × 8, where the largest volume varies in linear size between 5.6 fm (at T = 139 MeV) and 4.0 fm (at T = 195 MeV). The chiral condensates, connected and disconnected susceptibilities and the Dirac eigenvalue spectrum are reported and compared between different volumes as well as with the staggered results.

Book Domain Wall Fermions at Finite Temperature

Download or read book Domain Wall Fermions at Finite Temperature written by and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 5 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We investigate the properties of domain wall fermions on a set of quenched configurations at non-zero temperature. In particular, we compute the low lying eigenvalues of the DWF operator and study their relation with topology, level crossings and chiral symmetry breaking. We also measure the screening correlators and discuss the dependence on the extent of the extra dimension and the quark mass.
