He was born in Monroe Township, Richland County, Ohio, the son of Washington (Ernst) Ernsberger (1827-1915). He married Cordelia (Edith) Buzzard (1877-1944) in 1877 at Medina, Ohio. They had seven children, 1878-1896. The family lived in several places in the central Ohio area. Daniel and Cordelia died at Butler, Ohio. Descendants lived in Ohio, Florida and elsewhere. .
