Download or read book Holy Embrace written by Mario Brelich and published by Northwestern University Press. This book was released on 1996 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Pursuing and expanding the concept of the "novelized essay" that had served him so well in Navigator of the Flood, his first venture into writing, Brelich here takes up the biblical story of Abraham and Sarah. After the long quiescent interval succeeding the Flood, Abraham, repudiating the idols worshipped by his forebears, "discovers" God - which is to say that the Lord once again takes an interest in human affairs, settling upon another willing but divided patriarch as the instrument for procreating His chosen people. It is Abraham's servile infatuation with his frigid and narcissistic wife Sarah - "the most beautiful woman in the world" - that poses the greatest stumbling block to the Lord's designs. But this is also the story of a long and painful marriage between two mutually exasperating people. How the miracle of the "holy embrace" is finally accomplished - that is, how their son Isaac (whose name means "Laughter") is conceived in accordance with God's command - forms the substance of this profound and witty book." --Book Jacket.

The exact year of the Great Flood can now be calculated. Details about the golden age of Enoch are now available so that we can understand how the law of consecration works and how it eliminates poverty and crime. One of the most magnificent stories in this book is the life of Abraham. He received revelations about astronomy and mathematics which he later taught the Egyptians. All of these tremendously important new revelations belong to the sweeping panorama of the first 2,000 years of human history. This book is designed to make the study of the Old Testament an inspirational pleasure. Although presented for easy reading, the text is carefully documented so that every important point can be correlated with appropriate passages in the scriptures. Download or read book Miracles in the Trash written by Barbara Hendrix and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012-09-14 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A mothers womb has become the most dangerous place in the world. Innocent life is not to be relegated to the trash cans of the world. In this musical, God wants to bring humanity back into the embrace of his divine love, a humanity that has boldly stepped onto the pathway of its annihilation, through the catalysts of abortion and homosexuality. Truth has the ability to change hearts and minds, and God is truth. A beautiful, unique life is to be cherished and cared for because it is the most precious of gifts from the creative heart of God. What if Mary had aborted Jesus, the Son of God? In this play, she does and is punished by God with a life that never ends. After Jesus is aborted and has resumed his heavenly state, he is torn between the love that he has for his mother and his Father, who seeks to have his mother tried in a court of law for the murder of his Son, and thus the Church of God. This play sets the stage for the unthinkable and unravels the answers to the controversial questions surrounding a womans decision to abort her miracle, a gift from the love and very heart of God. Miracles in the Trash portrays abortion from Gods perspective, and his boundless love for each individual life he has created, revealing that life begins in the heart and mind of God, and that he knows who we are before we are even conceived. Biblical references support that fact. If we believe that God is all-knowing, then it leads to only one conclusion, that he knew who we were before our mother even met our father.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lies. Charlatans. Greed. War. In the name of God, 200,000 Avarican civilians are savagely massacred. Therefore, the neighboring Gzadin homeworld is overrun by Avarican forces in the name of God. So the Gzadin enlist the aid of Crilen, the fiery interstellar champion of the living Lord, to liberate their planet in God's name. Only he quickly discerns that the purported faiths of both worlds have been subverted by ungodly ulterior motives. The sincerest soul Crilen encounters amidst a chaotic war mired in ruthless treachery is Captain Vicara Riks, an intrepid field officer whose thirst for righteousness runs concurrent with her struggle to trust Heaven. Her fearless leadership symbolizes the conundrum of the soldier who finds her sworn allegiance to duty opposed by the abandoned virtues of honor and truth. Every willing sacrifice Vicara makes painfully diminishes her odds for a loving reunion with her son. Crilen desperately wishes to save her, but war is fraught with cruelty?and death. To deliver interplanetary peace, sacrifices must be made. What price for the atonement of two lost worlds shall ultimately be paid?
Download or read book 1 John Revised and Extended written by L. Daniel Cantey and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2021-07-28 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1 John: On Docetism and Resurrection (2016), the author elucidated the fundamental principles driving the modern order. The latter works according to a novel form of salvation, an ontology unto dissolution that the author recognizes as a new manifestation of the ancient heresy of docetism. The modern heresy turns on faith in the Christ-Idol, an idolatry hidden for centuries beneath the cover of Western Christianity. Its theological solution requires renewed engagement with the Trinitarian love, understanding that love as a function of mutual life-giving between the divine persons. The revised and extended version of 1 John assumes the undoing of Western society under the docetic ethos, seeking theological foundations for the society that might follow. It details the meaning of various aspects of docetic (modern) society through a Johannine lens, explaining these aspects as forms of oppression. The author counters these through the Eastern Orthodox focus on the inner life over the external one, the spiritual world over the physical, and the proper appreciation of hierarchy as opposed to docetic equality.
Download or read book 1 John written by L. Daniel Cantey and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2016-12-23 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if heresy had grown within the church, maturing secretly over more than a millennium, working ill under the cover of right belief and worship? This startling and provocative book argues that the ancient heresy of Docetism, reappearing in a form resonant with its original denial of Christ's body, has brought the Western church to its current state of disrepair. Docetism has irreparably fractured Western Christendom, reducing the church to a tangled mass of denominations and sects, while also infecting the course of Western society beyond the ecclesia. Progressing from an ontological foundation oriented toward the dissolution of form, Docetism has led peoples convinced of their march toward unity into ever deepening alienation. Although it has repercussions for theological anthropology, this ontological foundation has its profoundest implications for the doctrine of God. The solution to Docetism, as proposed by the author, begins with a theory of the Trinity grounded in the tenets of biblical Wisdom and explicated in terms of the relations of origin between the divine persons.
