Book excerpt: The Classic Thomas Troward Book Collection (Deluxe Edition) - The Hidden Power And Other Papers On Mental Science, The Creative Process In The Individual, The Law And The Word, The Edinburgh Lectures On Mental Science, The Dore Lectures On Mental Science - Thomas Troward - The Hidden Power And Other Papers On Mental Science (First published in 1921): When we once realise that this universal and unlimited power of spirit is at the root of all things and of ourselves also, then we have obtained the key to the whole position; and, however far we may carry our studies in spiritual science, we shall nowhere find anything else but particular developments of this one universal principle. - The Creative Process In The Individual (First published in 1915): Getting things into a better order is the great secret of progress. What we are seeking, therefore, is to discover how to arrange things in such an order as to set in motion a train of causation that will harmonize our own conditions without antagonizing the exercise of a likepower by others. - The Law And The Word (First published in 1917): People are beginning to realize that Thought is a power in itself, one of the great forces of the Universe, and ultimately the greatest of forces, directing all the others. Thought is the great power of the Universe. But to make it practically available we must know something of the principles by which it works. - The Edinburgh Lectures On Mental Science (First published in 1909): The Spirit of Life seeking expression in individual lives can have no other intention towards them than "that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." To suppose the opposite would be a contradiction in terms. - The Dore Lectures On Mental Science (First published in 1921): The Spirit is that which gives life and movement to anything, in fact it is that which causes it to exist at all. The thought of the author, the impression of the painter, the feeling of the musician, is that without which their works could never have come into being, and so it is only as we enter into the IDEA which gives rise to the work, that we can derive all the enjoyment and benefit from it which it is able to bestow. New Thought, then, is not the name of a particular sect, but is the essential factor by which our own future development is to be carried on; and its essence consists in seeing the relation of things in a New Order.

Download or read book The Adventure of I written by Tania Kotsos and published by . This book was released on 2013-05-23 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Adventure of I is one of the most complete, logical and practical books written about the power of the human mind, Universal Consciousness, the Laws and Principles of the Universe, and your ability to direct your mind and create the life you desire with the power of your will. This book will take you on a journey to the centre of your reality where you will discover the mighty I within, and in so doing, you will come to understand just what is meant by the greatest maxim of all time, 'Know Thyself'. It is unlike other books on the subject in that it is founded on what is called Top-Down-Living, which is to live life from the higher vantage point of your Real Self. Only by raising your degree of consciousness above the Physical Plane of your physical experience and the Mental Plane of your thoughts, desires and emotions, can you have directive power over them. Trying to change your physical experience at the degree of consciousness of the physical you is akin to manipulating an already printed photograph and expecting the changes to be reflected when you print it out again from the original negative. The Adventure of I teaches you how to change the 'original' so as to create lasting change in your life. You will gain an unparalleled understanding of the underlying mental nature of the Universe and how your mind creates your reality through It. You will discover the masculine and feminine principles of your mind and how they work together for the same purpose that is creation. You will learn precisely why your mind must, by definition, be one and the same with the One Universal Mind of The Absolute in Its entirety, for which nothing is impossible. You will learn about the seven Universal Laws and other Principles that govern everything and everyone in the Universe, and how to use the Higher Laws to master the Lower Laws and transcend the influence of polarity and rhythm in your life. You will learn practical techniques for consciously creating your experience of reality, one desire at a time, under the direction of your will and the knowing of your intuition. You will discover long-lost secrets about the nature of the Universe and your mind's central place within Its Omnipotence, and much more. Ultimately, The Adventure of I will empower you to utter the most profound statement, 'I AM I', with full authority, and in so doing, you will become the master of your destiny.

Download or read book Attaining Your Desires by Letting Your Subconscious Mind Work for You written by Genevieve Behrend and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-08-09 with total page 66 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Genevive Behrend (1881 in Paris - 1960 in United States) was a French-born author and teacher of Mental Science, a New Thought discipline created by Thomas Troward. There is little known about her early life except that one of her parents was Scottish. After her husband died she traveled extensively. She studied Christian Science and met its founder Mary Baker Eddy, but ultimately left that faith. She met Abdul Baha, whose father had founded Bahaiism, and Abdul told her that she would "travel the world over seeking the truth, and when [she] had found it, would speak it out".[2] She later wrote in her book Your Invisible Power that she found a book of Thomas Troward's lectures. Inspired by this, she wanted to study with Troward, but lacked the money to travel to Cornwall, England where he lived, as she was then living in New York. So every night and morning she visualized counting out twenty $1,000 bills, buying her ticket to London, travelling on the ship, and being accepted as Troward's pupil. She also constantly affirmed to herself, "My mind is a center of Divine operations". Then, to quote her in Your Invisible Power, "While these reflections were going on in my mind, there seemed to come up from within me the thought: 'I am all the substance there is.' Then, from another channel in my brain the answer seemed to come, 'Of course, that's it; everything must have its beginning in mind. The 'I', the Idea, must be the only one and primary substance there is, and this means money as well as everything else.' My mind accepted this idea, and immediately all the tension of mind and body was relaxed". In about six weeks, she received the money. From 1912 until 1914 she studied with Thomas Troward; Behrend was the only personal student he had throughout his life. After her studies with Troward she founded a New Thought school called The School of the Builders in approximately 1915 in New York City, running it herself until 1925. She then founded another New Thought school in Los Angeles, after which she traveled throughout North America lecturing on mental science and New Thought for 35 years, as well as giving radio broadcasts. She is quoted as an expert in the best-selling self-help book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.
