Book Assessment of Brand Equity Measures

Download or read book Assessment of Brand Equity Measures written by Emine Sarigollu and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although several brand equity measures were proposed in the literature, a comparative assessment of their characteristics and performances is lacking. This paper attempts to fill that gap. Combining survey data with real market data, this paper assesses two types of brand equity measures; customer mind-set measures (brand knowledge) and product-market performance measures (revenue premium). The results confirm that the customer mind-set measure captures cumulative brand-building effects better and offers diagnostic information. However, the revenue premium is found as a better choice for continuous tracking of brand equity because a) it reveals the true changes in brand equity; b) it is a practical and convenient measure since its data requirements are readily available; and, c) it flags any change in brand equity before the customer mind-set measure. Furthermore, product-market performance measure is found to precede the customer mind-set. This study also conducts the first empirical test of the well-known brand value chain model on real market data. Finally, operationalizing customer mind-set measure on real market data for the first time, this study confirms that advertising and distribution are positively associated with brand equity, while price promotion is negatively associated. By considering multiple measures, this study improves robustness of the findings as well as addressing marketing accountability issues.

Book Brands and Consumers

Download or read book Brands and Consumers written by Jaywant Singh and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2022-12-27 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Brand management is firmly established as a core business and marketing activity. The research evidence on how consumers react to branding, however, is in constant evolution globally. This short-form book provides a comprehensive overview of research evidence on several core branding topics whilst acting as a catalyst for advancing future research and informing business practice. The book fills a gap created by prior volumes on branding that, although well- illustrated and explained, have often approached the subject in somewhat uncritical manner. The book represents a timely compendium on popular topics in branding and aims to be a valuable addition to knowledge in branding. The book focuses on reviewing research in branding and brand management, and proposes areas for expanding research in the field. Recognising the diversity of research in branding, the authors of this book, as active branding researchers, attempt to discuss the limitations of current research and provide insights for future explorations. The book will be of interest and a resource for academic researchers, branding practitioners, business students and policymakers who view branding as an evidence-oriented discipline.

Book Value Based Performance Measures

Download or read book Value Based Performance Measures written by Nils Eikelmann and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-08-19 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nils Eikelmann describes the framework conditions for the application of value-based performance measures and critically analyses selected ones. The disclosure of value-based performance indicators is important in order to demonstrate the successful management of a company and to satisfy the increasing information needs of investors. However, companies adapt the developed theoretical concepts of value-based performance measures to their practical needs and thus investors are no longer able to compare the performance of companies. In addition, there is a variety of different metrics from which companies can choose. The empirical study aims to reduce existing research gaps and is divided into three parts: the analysis of annual reports of selected European companies, the calculation of a standardised value-based performance measure and a value relevance study in the form of an association study.

Book Brand Transformation

Download or read book Brand Transformation written by Keith Glanfield and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-02-05 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To be of value to firms, branding must operate in the "real" world, not a theoretical one, unlocking latent commercial potential and delivering tangible business results. The imperative is to pragmatically change as you go, making simple branding changes that deliver a commercial difference. This radical new textbook combines best practice, research and theory to teach how to accelerate a firm’s branding performance, without disrupting and derailing day-to-day business. It demonstrates how to make practical "best-fit" changes to a firm's branding by implementing commercially feasible branding activity to achieve commercial results. Structured around a brand transformation template, Brand Transformation demonstrates how to make pragmatic changes to branding by implementing improvements to six critical components of branding performance. The text not only presents new and different insights; importantly it contains a set of diagnostic questions, frameworks, tools and templates to design implementable changes to a firm’s branding. The text includes a set of six widely occurring firm "typologies" and suggests practical immediate activity on which to base a firm’s implementation plan. This text is essential reading for final year marketing undergraduates, postgraduate students of marketing, practising marketers and general managers

Book Fit Failure and the Hall of Fame

Download or read book Fit Failure and the Hall of Fame written by Charles C. Snow and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2010-06-15 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Managers often become frustrated when, after making Herculean efforts to launch a better product, create a superior structure, or improve processes, success remains a distant and elusive goal. But genuine success does not come from any single action--or any random group of actions--caution Raymond Miles and Charles Snow in this incisive analysis of success and failure. Instead, they argue, success is achieved when the strategy, structure, and processes of a company fit together: operations then run smoothly inside and out, more is done with less, and customers are satisfied. Companies that go a step further to create exceptionally innovative strategy-structure-process packages--for example, Carnegie Steel was the first to create a vertically integrated, centralized management structure within the steel industry--often develop a record of accomplishments and reputation considerable enough to propel them into a mythical corporate Hall of Fame. Based on studies of dozens of companies to which they have applied this concept of fit, the authors explain how success and failure can be predicted.Examining the causes of success and failure historically, they describe how such companies as General Motors and Sears, Roebuck--both Hall of Fame candidates--earned their legendary status by pioneering new forms of organization to fit the strategy-structure-process combination demanded by the marketplace at the time. Miles and Snow relate historic successes to current successes, explaining how even the most thriving companies of today--including Wal-Mart, Rubbermaid, and General Electric--could lose their way and become misfit companies. They describe in detail the path to misfit and what pitfalls to avoid to stay on the right track. Looking to the future, the authors examine new shapes organizations will take, including various types of networks and a promising new form that they call the spherical organization. Finally, Miles and Snow detail the key to long-term corporate health: dynamic fit. Dynamic fit allows managers to ensure flexibility and ongoing adaptation to the marketplace. Without it, the authors warn, success is fragile. With it, companies can develop their own recipe for success that works consistently no matter what corporate climate the future holds.

Book Performance Measurement with the Balanced Scorecard

Download or read book Performance Measurement with the Balanced Scorecard written by Stefano Biazzo and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-01-05 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do we really know the critical phenomena that are linked to how enterprises function and the dynamics of their relationships with customers, suppliers and competitors? Are their decision-making processes founded upon a set of performance measurements that were accurately designed and systematically elaborated? The above questions are the focus of this book, as is the following premise: enterprises need a system to measure their critical performances so they can be managed effectively; metaphorically speaking, enterprises need a “management dashboard” to serve as a navigational aid. A dashboard to show – with as few distortions as possible – the pattern of key variables that characterizes the specific formula enterprises use to face their competitive and social environment.

Book Brand Admiration

Download or read book Brand Admiration written by C. Whan Park and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2016-10-03 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Brand Admiration uses deep research on consumer psychology, marketing, consumer engagement and communication to develop a powerful, integrated perspective and innovative approach to brand management. Using numerous real-world examples and backed by research from top notch academics, this book describes how companies can turn a product, service, corporate, person or place brand into one that customers love, trust and respect; in short, how to make a brand admired. The result? Greater brand loyalty, stronger brand advocacy, and higher brand equity. Admired brands grow more revenue in a more efficient way over a longer period of time and with more opportunities for growth. The real power of Brand Admiration is that it provides concrete, actionable guidance on how brand managers can make customers (and employees) admire a brand. Admired brands don't just do the job; they offer exactly what customers need (enabling benefits), in way that's pleasing, fun, interesting, and emotionally involving (enticing benefits), while making people feel good about themselves (enriching benefits). Providing these benefits, called 3 Es, is foundational to building , strengthening and leveraging brand admiration. In addition, the authors articulate a common-sense and action based measure of brand equity, and they develop dashboard metrics to diagnose if there are any 'canaries in the coal mine', and if so, what to do next. In short, Brand Admiration provides a coherent, cohesive approach to helping the brand stand the test of time. A well-designed, well-managed brand becomes a part of the public consciousness, and ultimately, a part of the culture. This trajectory is the fruit of decisions made from an integrated strategic standpoint. This book shows you how to shift the process for your brand, with practical guidance and an analytical approach.
