After being discharged he worked on a novel for a year. Unable to find an agent or publisher, he began his newspaper career. His previous books (all self-published) include three fact-based, non-fiction novels, The Friendly Stranger + Lead Me, My Shepherd; A Would-Be Adventurist's Quest for Combat; and Three Novels by Dalton Henson.
