Book The Diaries of St Matthew

Download or read book The Diaries of St Matthew written by Mano Govindaraj and published by WestBowPress. This book was released on 2013-11-19 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a drama about how the gospel of St. Matthew may have been written by Matthew, one of the disciples of Jesus Christ. One day Jesus went to the tax office at Capernaum without any notice whatsoever and called Matthew. Matthew saw something so special in Jesus that he honored him with a family feast that same day and humbled himself to become a disciple of Jesus. Matthew was a tax collector of the Roman government and was therefore well trained in writing records and diaries. The diaries began with the call of Matthew and ended a few days after the resurrection. The drama presents a scenario for the origin of the synoptic puzzle and considers why these diaries remained unknown to the early Christians for two generations. The only assumption we need to make is that those devout people who put together the original Greek Bible acted in good faith and knew what they were doing when they placed it as the first book of their new scripture.

Book The Authorized Biography of Jesus Christ

Download or read book The Authorized Biography of Jesus Christ written by Mano Govindaraj and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012-09-26 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author describes how as a high school student, he first met the scientific approach to the study of the Gospels and learned that the Gospel of St. Matthew was copied from an older document called Q. The question arose: if Matthew was a disciple of Jesus, why would he need another document to write about Jesus? A life-long struggle to answer that question resulted in the development of this new Interpretation. Matthew was a trained tax accountant. Taxation is all about keeping records and diaries. Jesus called Matthew to be a disciple. Matthew did what he knew bestkeeping records and diaries as directed by Jesus. Analyzing its contents using principles of information assurance, Mano concludes that this gospel is in two parts. The first nine chapters happened before the call of Matthew, and the source of data is Jesus. After chapter ten, Matthew is the source of data. He recorded events as indicated by Jesus, including events after the arrest. This is the justification for calling it an authorized biography of Jesus Christ. The Ascension is omitted. That significant omission proves that this gospel was not written by a later Christian believer or organization, but happened because Matthew ceased his diaries before the Ascension. These diaries were obtained by Christians many years later and recognized as a gospel.

Book excerpt: The Story of Brain Disease and the Priest's Wife This is the story of Susan--a wife, mother, Christian believer, lover of children, writer of stories, and woman of extraordinary intellect. Susan was diagnosed with a brain tumor in her late thirties. Although it was successfully treated, the process led to her slow, unending decline. In this personal story of love and loss, Victor Lee Austin shares how caring for his wife during her painful struggle with brain cancer and its aftereffects brought him face-to-face with his God and with his faith in unsettling ways. God gave Victor what his heart most desired--marriage to Susan--then God took away what he had given. Yet God never withdrew his presence. Weaving together autobiographical details and profound theological insights, this powerful narrative shows that we are called to turn to God in the face of suffering.

Book St Matthew Yesterday s Classics

Download or read book St Matthew Yesterday s Classics written by J. Paterson Smyth and published by Bible for School and Home. This book was released on 2017-12-16 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With this seventh volume in The Bible for School and Home series, the focus is on Christ's great enthusiasm, which was the founding on earth of what he called THE KINGDOM OF GOD, as described in the Gospel of St. Matthew. More of Christ's teachings are considered, and some of the ones treated in earlier volumes, are revisited in this commentary in the context of THE KINGDOM OF GOD. All eight volumes in The Bible for School and Home series, used in Charlotte Mason's schools, and intended for parents and teachers to use in preparing Bible lessons for the children in their charge. Each of the volumes contains two dozen or more lessons, preceded by the same lengthy introduction to sound teaching practices, a section which is well worth reading. For each lesson, Smyth specifies the Biblical passages to cover, then provides background information you can incorporate in your telling of the story to gain the interest of your children, carefully framed questions you can use to draw their attention to the main points, and ways you might direct the conversation to stir their affections and their actions.
