Book Z Burbia The Complete Series Boxset

Download or read book Z Burbia The Complete Series Boxset written by Jake Bible and published by Jake Bible Fiction LLC. This book was released on with total page 949 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Z-Burbia: A Post Apocalyptic Zombie Adventure Novel Description- When the zombie apocalypse hits the quiet Asheville, NC subdivision of Whispering Pines, the residents don't turn to the police or the military. Nope. They rely on their iron-fisted Home Owners Association! Which Jace Stanford and his family aren’t too keen on. Undead hordes are hard enough to deal with in a post-apocalyptic hellscape, who needs HOA fines too? Filled with blood, gore, plenty of bad jokes, cannibals, dreaded HOA covenants, and a whole lot of snark, Z-Burbia is guaranteed to thrill and entertain! Welcome to life in Z-Burbia! Reviews- “The first novel in Jake Bible’s series Z-Burbia hooked me. What appeared to be a jokey take on zombie fiction quickly develops some great characters and story.” -BoingBoing.net “For those still not convinced about the zombie genre, Z-Burbia is worth a read if only for its female characters: Jake Bible doesn’t have time for vapid whimpering damsels in distress. Oh no. Bible’s characters are thinking, acting, feisty sorts.” -Lee Murray, Bram Stoker Award-winning novelist Z-Burbia 2: Parkway To Hell: Description- With Whispering Pines refusing to give up and die, Jace “Long Pork” Stanford has nothing better to do than find out who the heavily-armed newcomers in town are. Well, while he’s not busy dealing with the ever present Z hordes. Or running for his life from paramilitary mercenaries. Or possibly blowing up more of the zombie-infested city because he can’t help pressing buttons. Buttons are meant to be pressed, even in the apocalypse, right? Looks like it’s just another day in Z-Burbia! Z-Burbia 3: Estate of the Dead: Description- Jace Stanford has lost family, friends, and his arm to the zombie apocalypse that hit his subdivision of Whispering Pines. But he’s also gained something he never in a million years would have thought would be a plus: the cannibal savant known as Elsbeth. Now Jace needs Elsbeth’s help more than ever. But is she up to the task when her past is revealed? A past that is possibly more shocking than the zombie apocalypse itself? Jace is gonna find out the hard way. And, as everyone knows, in Z-Burbia the hard way usually means a whole lot of people are going to die! Welcome back to Z-Burbia, y’all! Z-Burbia 4: Cannibal Road: Description- Forced out of Asheville, Jace Stanford’s family, along with a convoy of suburbanites, misfits, criminals, and soldiers, must battle their way through the I-40 corridor of Eastern Tennessee. When they are separated from their friends and allies in Knoxville, the Stanfords have to rely on their skills as post-apocalyptic survivors to fight off the Zs, insane Vols fans, homicidal sorority girls, and the most deadly of the post-apocalyptic threats- cannibal gangs! No longer are the Stanfords trying to survive day by day, but hour by hour and minute by minute, as they flee Z-Burbia and race through the hellscape of Cannibal Road! Reviews- “Once again Mr. Bible has cracked me up in the zombie apocalypse! Jace is still funny as hell, I love him. Elsbeth is still bad ass and she is my favorite. Stella and the kids brought out some cans of whoop ass as well!” -Melissa Martin, 5-star Goodreads review “I'm running out of things to say about how much I love this series. Each book is just as good as the last.” -Jennifer Wheeler, 5-star Goodreads review Z-Burbia 5: The Bleeding Heartland: Description- The American Midwest was a bucolic landscape that didn’t quite adjust to the zombie apocalypse. Instead of open arms and welcoming faces, there are now open mouths and ravenous Zs. The blue collar drive to work hard has become a red-mouthed hunger for flesh. Jace Stanford, his family, and the rag tag bunch of Whispering Pines survivors, private military contractors, laborers, and former (hopefully?) cannibals now must face the vast, exposed space of America’s Heartland in order to get to a possible sanctuary in the post-apocalyptic ruins of Boulder, Colorado. Just a simple convoy from point A to point B, right? Yeah, right. Nothing is ever simple in Z-Burbia! Z-Burbia 6: Rocky Mountain Die: Description- With the plains to their backs, Jace Stanford and crew are just steps from their destination: the Stronghold of Boulder, CO. All they have to do is battle the mega-powerful, corporate/political/military entity that is the Consortium, survive the brainwashed killing machines that call themselves the Sisters, and deal with a mad scientist hell bent on making life really, really hard for everyone because he’s just a f*ing jerk. Not a problem! If anyone can get his friends and family through a nightmare like this, it’s Jace Stanford! What’s that? There’s a horde of zombies that’s close to half a million strong coming for them all? Okay, everyone’s screwed… It is Z-Burbia after all! Book The Sidekick Comes of Age

Download or read book The Sidekick Comes of Age written by Stephen M. Zimmerly and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2019-04-09 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Literary sidekicks like Dr. Watson and Robin the Boy Wonder have not been the singular subject of a significant critical study—until now. Using young adult literature (YA) to study the sidekick reveals new and exciting ways to understand these kinds of characters and this kind of literature. YA has embraced the sidekick, recognizing the way the character reflects the importance of growth and finding one’s place in the world. The nature of many YA texts allows sidekicks to grow beyond literary or historical origins. This includes letting sidekicks “evolve” over the course of multiple texts, using parallel novels to add complexity to a sidekick’s characterization, and telling a story from the sidekick’s perspective, paradoxically making the sidekick the hero. A singularly focused and prolonged study helps to establish sidekick scholarship as a burgeoning field in and of itself.

Book excerpt: Power Through Prayer is a message of meditation based on the Bible and written by Edward McKendree Bounds (August 15, 1835 – August 24, 1913) prominently known as E.M. Bounds, was an American author, attorney, and member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South clergy. He is known for writing 11 books, nine of which focused on the subject of prayer. Only two of Bounds' books were published before he died. After his death, Rev. Claudius (Claude) Lysias Chilton, Jr., grandson of William Parish Chilton and admirer of Bounds, worked on preserving and preparing Bounds' collection of manuscripts for publication. By 1921, Homer W. Hodge completed additional editorial work. Edward McKendree Bounds was born on August 15, 1835, in Shelbyville, Missouri. He is the son of Thomas Jefferson and Hester A. (née Purnell) Bounds. In the preface to E.M. Bounds on Prayer, published by Hendrickson Christian Classics Series over 90 years after Bounds' death, it is surmised that young Edward was named after the evangelist, William McKendree, who planted churches in western Missouri and served as the fourth bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was the fifth child, in a family of three sons and three daughters.

A tightly-coiled puzzle of a thrill ride, The Failures launches The Wanderlands trilogy Welcome to the Wanderlands. A vast machine made for reasons unknown, the Wanderlands was broken long ago. First went the sky, splintering and cracking, and then very slowly, the whole machine—the whole world—began to go dark. Meet the Failures. Following the summons of a strange dream, a scattering of adventurers, degenerates, and children find themselves drawn toward the same place: the vast underground Keep. They will discover there that they have been called for a purpose—and that purpose could be the destruction of everything they love. The end is nigh. For below the Keep, imprisoned in the greatest cage ever built by magicians and gods, lies the buried Giant. It is the most powerful of its kind, and its purpose is the annihilation of all civilization. But any kind of power, no matter how terrible, is precious in the dimming Wanderlands, and those that crave it are making their moves. All machines can be broken, and the final cracks are spreading. It will take only the careless actions of two cheerful monsters to tip the Wanderlands towards an endless dark...or help it find its way back to the light.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Methodist minister and Civil War chaplain Edward McKendree Bounds (1835-1913) considered conversation with God as fundamentally vital to the Christian's life as physical breath. He devoted the last 17 years of his life to intense intercession and to penning some of the most perennially popular works about prayer. This attractive volume features the very best of his beloved writings. "God shapes the world by prayer. Prayers are deathless. The lips that uttered them may be closed in death, the heart that felt them may have ceased to beat, but the prayers live before God, and God's heart is set on them and prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them; they outlive a generation, outlive an age, outlive a world." --from E.M. Bounds on Prayer Every Christian library needs the classics--the timeless books that have spoken powerfully to generations of believers. Hendrickson Christian Classics allow readers to build an essential classics library in affordable modern editions. Each volume is freshly retypeset for reading comfort, while thoughtful new introductions place each in historical and spiritual context. Download or read book The Complete Works of E M Bounds written by E. M. Bounds and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2013-07-01 with total page 961 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Collected here in this 8-in-1 omnibus edition are all of E. M. Bounds' powerful books. No one else wrote with such power and authority on prayer. These classic books continue to inspire and instruct us on all aspects of prayer and its uses in everyday Christian life. "Prayer has to do with the entire man. Prayer takes in man in his whole being, mind, soul and body. It takes the whole man to pray, and prayer affects the entire man in its gracious results. As the whole nature of man enters into prayer, so also all that belongs to man is the beneficiary of prayer. All of man receives benefits in prayer. The whole man must be given to God in praying. The largest results in praying come to him who gives himself, all of himself, all that belongs to himself, to God. This is the secret of full consecration, and this is a condition of successful praying, and the sort of praying which brings the largest fruits." -E. M. Bounds
