Download or read book The Internet Is Infected written by Jill Alecci and published by . This book was released on 2015-03-20 with total page 898 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Before being struck down at the height of my career twice by cancer, I spent 28 years working in Information Technology (IT) and serving the U.S. military as well as various U.S. government agencies and large corporations. During my long years of battling cancer, I listened too many so-called "security experts" cite inferior cyber security approaches to using something as dangerous as the internet. Hearing their inferior solutions regurgitated over, and over again, I knew I had been given a new mission in life to do something to help Small Business Owners and Home Computer Users. Therefore, five years ago and at great personal expense, I embarked on a crusade to give something back to the world by writing my book "The Internet is Infected."Make no mistake about it - the internet is stalking you. It is not your friend and is your worst enemy. As you may have recently learned, governments and corporations around the world expend vast resources and expense to spy upon your internet use, phone conversations, email, GPS location and more. Every facet of your daily life is being scrutinized. This insidious invasion into your privacy is given very limited coverage and no one is telling you how to prevent it. In oppressive countries, using the internet incorrectly results in severe repercussions, torture, and even death. If that is not enough to make you wary of your internet use, thousands of identity thieves, hackers, whom I call crackers and criminal organizations are also watching your internet activity and installing malware on your internet devices. Once this malware is on your device they can watch everything you do and use your internet devices for illicit activity, such as attacking others connected to the internet. China and increasingly, Russia, train their youth in the art of hacking, which many western IT professionals know nothing about. Your anti-software will not keep you safe, as many of us have learned the hard way. Read my book to learn how to use the internet safely and reduce your digital footprint; it will help you take back your privacy!

Book Cyber Security

Download or read book Cyber Security written by Tiziana M. and published by . This book was released on 2017 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computers are safe, but you have to learn about internet safety and you should be aware of some of the tricks, con games and scams that take place online. The internet is perfectly safe, as long as you know how to protect yourself. Although child exploitation and identity theft are feared online, there are ways to protect yourself against these problems. During the years, I managed to learn quite a bit about internet safety. Much of what I reveal in this book has been learned through trial and error. I did get viruses in my computers. I did get my identity stolen. I did have problems with people who found out too much information about me. Fortunately, I was able to learn from past mistakes and prevent others from making the same mistakes that I did. Internet safety is all about keeping yourself, your family and your personal information safe. Once you learn how to do this, you will feel much more secure in using the internet for a variety of different purposes. Despite the problems that happened to me, I still maintain a Facebook page. I do all my banking online and most of my shopping. I have had the same computer for a few years and it is virus free. I also managed to keep my children, who are now grown, from falling prey to any internet predators. The internet technology has also allowed me to make my living as a writer - if it wasn’t for computers and the internet, I would be out of work. I know quite a few people who met their spouses online and I have managed to make some nice cyber friends through this media.

Book Hunting Cyber Criminals

Download or read book Hunting Cyber Criminals written by Vinny Troia and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2020-01-28 with total page 705 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The skills and tools for collecting, verifying and correlating information from different types of systems is an essential skill when tracking down hackers. This book explores Open Source Intelligence Gathering (OSINT) inside out from multiple perspectives, including those of hackers and seasoned intelligence experts. OSINT refers to the techniques and tools required to harvest publicly available data concerning a person or an organization. With several years of experience of tracking hackers with OSINT, the author whips up a classical plot-line involving a hunt for a threat actor. While taking the audience through the thrilling investigative drama, the author immerses the audience with in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art OSINT tools and techniques. Technical users will want a basic understanding of the Linux command line in order to follow the examples. But a person with no Linux or programming experience can still gain a lot from this book through the commentaries. This book’s unique digital investigation proposition is a combination of story-telling, tutorials, and case studies. The book explores digital investigation from multiple angles: Through the eyes of the author who has several years of experience in the subject. Through the mind of the hacker who collects massive amounts of data from multiple online sources to identify targets as well as ways to hit the targets. Through the eyes of industry leaders. This book is ideal for: Investigation professionals, forensic analysts, and CISO/CIO and other executives wanting to understand the mindset of a hacker and how seemingly harmless information can be used to target their organization. Security analysts, forensic investigators, and SOC teams looking for new approaches on digital investigations from the perspective of collecting and parsing publicly available information. CISOs and defense teams will find this book useful because it takes the perspective of infiltrating an organization from the mindset of a hacker. The commentary provided by outside experts will also provide them with ideas to further protect their organization’s data.
