Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seven days. Is this wisp of time enough to save a life, a family, or even a nation? As shrewd as he is charismatic, Congressman Nathan Perry has strategically vanquished each of his opponents to emerge as the champion of the Freedom Party in the presidential race of the year 2000. He is driven by a secret agenda that allies him with a powerful, unscrupulous mentor and that threatens to divide the Union politically and racially. Clearly, Perry's meteoric rise has not been without moral compromise. Neither has it been without a desperate inner urgency. Since the death of his father, Nathan and his mother, Dr. Olivia Perry, have grappled with the specter of a generational evil that kills the firstborn Perry males at or not long after age forty. This was just the stuff of old family superstitions passed down from antebellum days...wasn't it? But now, the presidential campaign has led Congressman Perry back to his hometown, Vicksburg, Mississippi, which proudly and joyfully receives its native son. However, not all are happy about his bid for the White House. Opponents seize this time to strike, and forces for and against Nathan Perry clash--as his fortieth birthday relentlessly approaches.

Book The Curse Causeless

Download or read book The Curse Causeless written by Carolyn H. Ingram and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2008 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seven tense days are a count down to destiny for United States presidential candidate Nathan Sundiata Perry and his mother, Dr. Olivia Perry, history professor emeritus. The political forces that have worked for and against Nathan shrink before the might of another power, a force that has coursed through the Perry lineage for four generations, leaving destruction in its wake. Popular, attractive, and charismatic, Congressman Perry is pitted against an "opponent" that he cannot analyze, assess, and attack as has been his strategy with past foes. Fighting this adversary turns the light of scrutiny back upon him - and upon those connected with him. The truths revealed demand action before it is too late for Nathan, for his loved ones, and perhaps, for the nation.

Book Book of Wisdom by John Gill

Download or read book Book of Wisdom by John Gill written by James J Maccabbee Company and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2009-04 with total page 502 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Author John Gill (1697 - 1771) was born in Kettering, Northamptonshire. In his youth, he attended Kettering Grammar School, mastering the Latin classics and learning Greek by age eleven. The young scholar also had a love for Hebrew which would follow him throughout his life. At about twelve years of age, Gill heard a sermon from his pastor, William Wallis, whose text came from Genesis 3:9, "And the Lord called unto Adam, and said unto him, where art thou?" He reflected often on the message of Wallis' sermon and it eventually led to his conversion. It was not until seven years later, however, that young John made a public profession of his faith in Christ, when he was almost nineteen years of age. His first pastoral work was as an intern at age twenty one, and he later became a pastor in Southwark, England. His pastorate lasted 51 years. Gill was an English Bible scholar, and a prolific writer who authored among other things, an expository commentary on the entire Bible. John Gill was a profound scholar whose ministry in some fashion still touches millions of people worldwide. About this Book Unlike human wisdom, the Book of Proverbs is of divine inspiration. The Book of Wisdom is presented as a devotional from John Gill's commentary on these Proverbs. Book of Wisdom is a tribute offered by the James J. MacCabbee Company to Pastor John Gills' lifetime of brilliant work. As Proverbs 8:1, "Doth not Wisdom cry?" This daily devotional is prepared for governmental leaders, leaders in the news and entertainment industries, clergy and laypersons; employees and employers; spouses, parents and children. In fact Wisdom is offered to "anyone who has ears to hear" (see Matthew 13:9). Those who receive such Wisdom as presented here will not be disappointed.
