Book The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7

Download or read book The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7 written by David Ray Griffin and published by Interlink Publishing. This book was released on 2012-12-30 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At 5:20 in the afternoon on 9/11, Building 7 of the World Trade Center collapsed, even though it had not been struck by a plane and had fires on only a few floors. The reason for its collapse was considered a mystery. In August 2008, NIST (the National Institute of Standards and Technology) issued its report on WTC 7, declaring that "the reason for the collapse of World Trade Center 7 is no longer a mystery" and that “science is really behind what we have said.” Showing that neither of these claims is true, David Ray Griffin demonstrates that NIST is guilty of the most serious types of scientific fraud: fabricating, falsifying, and ignoring evidence. He also shows that NIST’s report left intact the central mystery: How could a building damaged by fire—not explosives—have come down in free fall?

Book excerpt: An account of the life and work of the architect Minoru Yamasaki that leads the author to consider how (and for whom) architectural history is written. Sandfuture is a book about the life of the architect Minoru Yamasaki (1912–1986), who remains on the margins of history despite the enormous influence of his work on American architecture and society. That Yamasaki’s most famous projects—the Pruitt-Igoe apartments in St. Louis and the original World Trade Center in New York—were both destroyed on national television, thirty years apart, makes his relative obscurity all the more remarkable. Sandfuture is also a book about an artist interrogating art and architecture’s role in culture as New York changes drastically after a decade bracketed by terrorism and natural disaster. From the central thread of Yamasaki’s life, Sandfuture spirals outward to include reflections on a wide range of subjects, from the figure of the architect in literature and film and transformations in the contemporary art market to the perils of sick buildings and the broader social and political implications of how, and for whom, cities are built. The result is at once sophisticated in its understanding of material culture and novelistic in its telling of a good story.

Book Where Did the Towers Go

Download or read book Where Did the Towers Go written by Judy D. Wood and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Summary: To determine what happened on 9/11, all available evidence must be considered. We cannot pick and choose which observable facts we may want to explain and then ignore the others. Any explanation must consider all the available evidence... None of the facts, events, anomalies, or phenomena that have been listed, discussed, and analyzed in this book can be explained by airliner crashes, jet fuel fires, or any scheme of controlled demolition. A comparison of the 911 evidence collected with the evidence of results produced by the well-established Hutchison Effect shows that a similar technology was employed in the destruction of the towers..."--P. 483-484.

Book Not What I Signed Up For

Download or read book Not What I Signed Up For written by Lorna Johnson and published by Grosvenor House Publishing. This book was released on 2022-09-01 with total page 838 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an autobiographical account of an elderly twice-married widow who has always wanted to write as well as to travel. She describes her teenage relationships, which didn't last, her time at a Church of England teacher training college in the early 1960s, and her first marriage to a man who considered it 'clever' not to earn sufficient money. She details how, together, they established and ran an art gallery in the Norfolk countryside, and began a manufacturing jewellery business. Her first husband abandons her and their three children, for another woman, leaving her needing to sell their homes after various disasters in order to pay off several bank loans. She teaches the three children at home before being able to admit them into local schools. She and the children move into a workshop before being able to buy their own home. Through her role as a teacher of Traveller children, she meets a man who becomes her second husband. They are very happy and often travel abroad together, until he has an affair and develops cancer. Following his death and seeking a soul-mate, she joins an internet dating site which helps her to determine her identity, only to discover that what her dates want is quite different from what she is seeking. She continues to travel, finds her own home and develops friendships with long-forgotten college colleagues. The Covid pandemic curtails her travels but offers her uninterrupted time for creative writing, with encouragement from friends and her younger daughter.

Book Law for Non Law Students

Download or read book Law for Non Law Students written by Keith Owens and published by Cavendish Publishing. This book was released on 2001-10-30 with total page 808 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Law for Non-Law Students is written in a clear and readable style and aims to make the law understandable for readers at undergraduate or comparable level. It explains the practical influences under which the law has been formed,so that the student will be better able to understand why the law has developed in the way that it has. It gives lots of straightforward examples as to how the law works in practice and aims to equip students with the ability to appraise the effectiveness of the law in a particular circumstance rather than simply providing a list of rules for the student to regurgitate at exam time. The facts of the more important cases are given in some detail to enable the student to appreciate the range of factors which the court may have taken into account in reaching its decision. The new edition has been updated to take account of all recent developments, both in relation to statute and to case law. Certain chapters, particularly in the area of sale of goods, have been substantially rewritten and expanded in an attempt to give more detail, while at the same time remaining student-friendly. New chapters on Agency and Negligence have been added. brThis new edition should be suitable for most courses which have a law element.
