Book The Book of Jasher With Lessons and Commentary

Download or read book The Book of Jasher With Lessons and Commentary written by Joseph Lumpkin and published by Fifth Estate. This book was released on 2010 with total page 562 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book of Jasher is a secular history covering a period from the creation to the period of the Judges in Israel. Jasher is referenced in the Holy Bible twice by two different authors. Three versions of Jasher are purported copies of the 'Lost Book' and have been translated, but only this one is looked upon as authentic. The Prophet Joseph Smith quoted from this version in "Times and Seasons." The Book of Jasher is authentic, as it contains many specific details which are in agreement with modern revelation such as "The Book of Moses." Presented to you in this volume is the complete Book of Jasher with lessons and commentary.

Book Side by Side Comparison of the Book of Jasher and the Early Books of the Bible

This book was released on 2013 with total page 570 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book of Jasher and the Holy Bible - A Parallel Reading. While reading through The Book of Jasher I found myself often flipping through the Pentateuch for cross referencing. Hence the idea for this book. You will find an amazing amount of almost word-for-word parallels which lead one to wonder if perhaps one was a source for the other, or at the very least Moses and the author(s) of this book drew from the same oral traditions. To me this speaks well of the historical accuracy of this text and that it isn't some authors imaginative "filling in" details in the Biblical record.

Book excerpt: One man’s quest to find the oldest Bible scrolls in the world and uncover the story of the brilliant, doomed antiquarian accused of forging them. In the summer of 1883, Moses Wilhelm Shapira—archaeological treasure hunter and inveterate social climber—showed up unannounced in London claiming to have discovered the oldest copy of the Bible in the world. But before the museum could pony up his £1 million asking price for the scrolls—which discovery called into question the divine authorship of the scriptures—Shapira’s nemesis, the French archaeologist Charles Clermont-Ganneau, denounced the manuscripts, turning the public against him. Distraught over this humiliating public rebuke, Shapira fled to the Netherlands and committed suicide. Then, in 1947 the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Noting the similarities between these and Shapira’s scrolls, scholars made efforts to re-examine Shapira’s case, but it was too late: the primary piece of evidence, the parchment scrolls themselves had mysteriously vanished. Tigay, journalist and son of a renowned Biblical scholar, was galvanized by this peculiar story and this indecipherable man, and became determined to find the scrolls. He sets out on a quest that takes him to Australia, England, Holland, Germany where he meets Shapira’s still aggrieved descendants and Jerusalem where Shapira is still referred to in the present tense as a “Naughty boy”. He wades into museum storerooms, musty English attics, and even the Jordanian gorge where the scrolls were said to have been found all in a tireless effort to uncover the truth about the scrolls and about Shapira, himself. At once historical drama and modern-day mystery, The Lost Book of Moses explores the nineteenth-century disappearance of Shapira’s scrolls and Tigay's globetrotting hunt for the ancient manuscript. As it follows Tigay’s trail to the truth, the book brings to light a flamboyant, romantic, devious, and ultimately tragic personality in a story that vibrates with the suspense of a classic detective tale.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This 2000-year-old scroll reveals the chronology from Creation through Cyrus' decree that freed the Jews in 536 BC. The Ancient Seder Olam uses Biblical prophecy to prove its calculations of the timeline. We have used this technique to continue the timeline all the way to the reestablishment of the nation of Israel in AD 1948. Using the Bible and rabbinical tradition, it shows that the ancient Jews awaited King Messiah to fulfill the prophecy spoken of in Daniel Chapter 9. The Seder answers many questions about the chronology of the books of Kings and Chronicles. It talks about the coming of Elijah, King Messiah's reign, and the battle of Gog and Magog. This scroll and the Jasher scroll are the two main sources used in the book Ancient Post-Flood History, also by Ken Johnson. Brought to you by Biblefacts Ministries, Biblefacts.org.

Book Explaining the Book of Jasher in the Light of the Bible

Download or read book Explaining the Book of Jasher in the Light of the Bible written by Autor DESCONHECIDO and published by . This book was released on 2019-05-22 with total page 449 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book of Jasher - Book of the Just - is a historical work of great value for those who seek to know more deeply the first biblical accounts. In general, it will present in parallel to the Pentateuch the events between the creation of the human being and the last days of Joshua's life. The Book of Jasher refers several times to the Book of the Law of the Lord (five first books of the Bible) and is mentioned directly in the Old Testament on two occasions, as we shall see below: "And the sun stood still, and the moon stood still, until the people were avenged on their enemies. Isn't this written in the book of Jasher? The sun therefore stood in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to set almost a whole day". (Joshua 10:13)"Telling them to teach the children of Judah how to use the bow... Behold, it is written in the book of Jasher." (2 Samuel 1:18)In addition to the biblical passages mentioned above, the New Testament has at least an indirect reference to the Book of the Just. In his second letter to Timothy, the apostle Paul states that difficult times will come in the last days, for "just as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so they also resist the truth, being corrupt men of understanding and reprobate about faith. (2 Timothy 3:8)Considering that these men are not explicitly mentioned anywhere else in the Holy Scriptures, it is possible to infer that Paul had read the Book of the Just One, for he knew the following passage contained therein: "And when they had gone, Pharaoh sent for Balaam the magician, and Yanes (Jannes) and Yambres (Jambres), his sons, and all the magicians and illusionists and counselors who belonged to the king, and they all came and sat before the king."(Book of the Just 79:27)It is important to emphasize that the chronology of the facts narrated in the Book of the Jasher is in harmony with other reliable historical sources, such as the Talmud and the Seder Olam Rabbah (book of Jewish dates). Furthermore, there are several biblical passages that are best understood through the comparative analysis of the parallel narratives found in the Book of the Jasher. One episode that illustrates in a very timely way the relevance of the Book of the Jasher and its usefulness for a better understanding of the biblical narratives is the journey of the patriarch Jacob and his encounter with Esau when he returned to the land of Canaan. There are relevant details in this passage that we find in the Book of the Jasher and that are not mentioned in the Holy Bible and vice versa.Explainig the Book of Jasher in the light of the Holy Bible proposes to constitute itself in this practical tool capable of helping the reader to promote a correct interrelationship between the historical content present in the Book of Jasher and the teachings of the Holy Bible

Book Ancient Book of Enoch

Download or read book Ancient Book of Enoch written by Ken Johnson and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2012 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Holy Spirit inspired Jude to quote Enoch for a reason. The Ancient Book of Enoch opens by addressing those in the Tribulation period. It contains numerous prophecies about the flood and fire judgments, and the two comings of the Messiah. It teaches that the Messiah is the Son of God and that He will shed His blood to redeem us and even predicts the generation that this would occur! The book of Enoch prophesies a window of time in which the Second Coming would occur and prophesies that there will be twenty-three Israeli Prime Ministers ruling in fifty-eight terms from AD 1948 to the beginning of the Tribulation period, and much more. Even though it prophecies that the Bible would be created and says we will be judged by our obedience to the Bible, it also makes it clear that this book is not to be added to the Canon of Scripture. The Ancient Book of Enoch recounts the history of the angels that fell in the days of Jared, Enoch's father. It testifies to their marriages with human women and their genetic experiments. This commentary includes a previously unknown chapter from the Dead Sea Scrolls that actually explains how they did their genetic tampering. The commentary is from a fundamentalist Christian view, brought to you by Biblefacts Ministries, biblefacts.org.
