Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Black Dungeon Doorway The Black Dungeon Doorway is a Science Fiction/Fantasy Novel which I, Kyle Lance Proudfoot, have written. It is a romping metaphysical exploration through multiple realities with 4 characters: Orthe, Wodora, Aera and Pyre. With magical and technological devices and telepathic, psychic, telekinetic and magical abilities we go through worlds, progressing through Planes Of Existence. This happens through blinking doorways, doors, portals or gates with sensory panoramas opening up and new dimensions of mind, body and soul being discovered... Throughout our adventure, quest or mission we think, telepathically communicate, talk, converse, philosophize, debate and battle to explore the nature of reality. Regardless of your own opinions and beliefs, one cannot deny within the one big reality the existence of multitudinal different observations and experiences, thus multiverses. The storyline leads us to a greater discovery of our god-like heroic nature. In the stunning conclusion, there is a higher realization of the true and higher Power and Energy Level's in reality and how in some way we can each become Immortal! The Black Dungeon Doorway is not only a dark dungeon into the realms of the subconscious and/or unconscious but also a maze and puzzle as indicated by the chapter titles. In many ways, it is also not only a 4D symbolic representation and construction of the Universe but also of the human mind and various bodies, aspects and layers which we each possess. If you ask me, the Astral Plane or Dream World is not only symbolic, figurative and/or metaphorical but quite literal, especially in the After Life... The Black Dungeon Doorway is Part 1 of a trilogy. The second part is Planes Of Existence. The third and final part is The Door Of Light or Door Of Light. All three books are based on the complete MMORPG System which I have developed starting with Apotheum Colluseum, the Battle System of The Free Show. I grew up in Toronto, Canada, free spirited, idealistic and lightly optimistic. Though I have now put a good dosage of realism into my perspective, I will still have hope for the future and I will never give up my own 'dream of delusion'. In 1996, I moved to the Netherlands and continued my life's work which are on my websites in the form of FREE Draft's. I have a propedeuse in both Philosophy and Psychology and my highest acquired diploma is MCSE (NT). I am presently busy as a Webmaster, Web Designer and Web Developer and am next to being an Author, also a Musician, Artist and Actor. See my resum. My interests are diverse: Literature, Films, Music, Art, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Photos, Video, Philosophy, Religion, Science, Politics, Space, Travel, Biking, Fitness, Nature, The Free Show, 3D Games, 3D Game Development, Family, Friends, Information Technology, Open Source Programming Languages, Cooking. Personally, I have a strong sense of humor and am an intellectual and emotional Pisces with my Moon in Aries. I like to be direct and honest but sometimes one has to put water in the wine. Since a young idealistic teenager, I have always had a good sense of Moral's and Values, however this is also tempered by logic and reason. I like to read, debate, argue, converse and philosophize about various topics, alone and with others... Having funny, fun and relaxation is a top priority in all my activities, otherwise I cannot take life seriously either, or I get too stressed out... My two websites are: Silverlingo.com and Planesofexistence.eu . I also have other url's which refer to these two sites such as the title of my books. I hope you enjoy reading The Black Dungeon Doorway since I put all of my mind, body, energy, spirit and soul into it, drawing on the most fantastical and hyper modern ideas and information I could think of for a science fiction/fantasy environment. Download or read book Planes of Existence written by Kyle Lance Proudfoot and published by Author House. This book was released on 2013 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Planes Of Existence is a Science Fiction/Fantasy Novel with a good dosage of Humor and Horror which I, Kyle Lance Proudfoot, have written. It combines the best elements of both science fiction and fantasy and is hyper modern and futuristic taking place on far distant planets in the Universe. Leading from The Black Dungeon Doorway which is published by AuthorHouse UK it expands upon Character Classes introduced in The Free Show giving life to their profiles. There is great adventure, plenty of magic and technological devices and absolutely phenomenal battles. There is also a strong portrayal of the theme of Light and Shadow. I maintain my highly descriptive and exciting style of writing. Planes Of Existence is Part 2, the sequel of The Black Dungeon Doorway. This will give me time to promote and try to make a bestseller of The Black Dungeon Doorway which is already published by AuthorHouse UK. There is also a Free Draft Promo of it. My plan is to write a trilogy; the third title is The Door Of Light or Door Of Light and is a progression towards the Light and Good which is standard in all stories and most Hollywood plot lines.

What would you do if your child was lost, and—even though you’d never admit this to anyone—it was all your fault? How would you react? Would you be a hero or a coward? And just how would you get your innocent child out of this situation These are all questions Gil Anderson faces when his five-year-old son goes missing somewhere in the dark trees at the edge of the family farm. On that fateful day, Gil must travel through his own version of hell to rescue his child before the forest eats them all. What Gil doesn't know is that his wife and son are both on their own dark, solitary journeys as well... For fans of Stranger Things and the weird world of the Upside Down. "In his third novel, speculative-fiction rising star Jasper offers a finely nuanced blend of fantasy and horror." — Booklist
Download or read book Evolutionary Essays written by Kyle Lance Proudfoot and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2014-06-02 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Evolutionary Essays Evolutionary Essays are essays which I started to write at York University in Toronto, Canada and finished the FREE Draft's on 05-02-2012. They are in the genres of Philosophy, Psychology, Politic's, Economic's, Religion, Culture, History and Evolution with a good dosage of Humor and Intellect. Evolutionary Essays is what I see as positive for this Planet and what is wrong especially in the Modern Western Civilization's. This is not just pure optimism and will use sound, logical, argumentational and factual structures. This is also to dispel highly prevalent pessimisms and reveal realities, to regain constructive positivism which we have lost so many times nullifying our productivity; life is a sine wave, it is not about your success and failures but the fact you keep getting up again, it is not if you win or lose but how you fight your battles, it is not how you die but how you lived your life: Debts not paid in this one are incurred in the next one... This is to try and bring clarity and solutions from Observation and Experience, the distinct realm of Philosophy. This is a philosophical discourse, description and narration using logic, reason, reduction, deduction, facts and argumentation to provide a point of view with constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement which may be adopted and/or applied to Citizen's, Government's or Corporation's. A Philosopher's position is to ask questions, not per se answer anything or be a Guide but rather point in the correct direction of the past, present and future giving no more than a Guideline for you can only find your own will and way. Where possible, though it is highly relative, one can try and reveal Truth. Like Light versus Shadow it will always win in the end... Truth is Commonality.

Book excerpt: In Nancy Springer’s enthralling fourth volume of the Book of Isle, two young princes set out to destroy their own father and the pervasive evil that poisons the kingdom An epic saga set in an ageless island stronghold of magic and mystery, Nancy Springer’s Book of Isle series is considered by many to be among the most accomplished offerings in all of fantasy literature, as lyrical and inventive as the classic works of J. R. R. Tolkien. In this unforgettable novel, a violent rift in a royal house threatens to tear an entire kingdom asunder. The next in line to rule the troubled realm of Melior, Prince Tirell gave his heart to the gentle and beautiful peasant girl Mylitta. But she died at the cruel whim of Tirell’s father, the king, who insists on a more politically expedient match for his rebellious son. Since the murder of his love, Tirell’s heart has hardened, and now, with the aid of his younger brother, Frain, the healer, he seeks an army that will help him defeat the evil, unrepentant monarch. All hope for victory in the war to come awaits the brothers somewhere deep in the mysteries of the Vale, where a beautiful goddess also dwells. But a sinister presence is spreading its malevolence throughout the land—and Melior can never again be truly whole until the kingdom is rid of the terrible scourge of the Black Beast.

Book excerpt: El Diablo is in the details in this Latinx pirate fantasy starring a transmasculine nonbinary teen with a mission of revenge, redemption, and revolution--now in paperback! On Mar León de la Rosa's sixteenth birthday, el Diablo comes calling. Mar is a transmasculine nonbinary teen pirate hiding a magical ability to manipulate fire and ice. But their magic isn't enough to reverse a wicked bargain made by their father, and now el Diablo has come to collect his payment: the soul of Mar's father and the entire crew of their ship. When Mar is miraculously rescued by the sole remaining pirate crew in the Caribbean, el Diablo returns to give them a choice: give up their soul to save their father by the harvest moon, or never see him again. The task is impossible--Mar refuses to make a bargain, and there's no way their magic is a match for el Diablo. Then Mar finds the most unlikely allies: Bas, an infuriatingly arrogant and handsome pirate--and the captain's son; and Dami, a gender-fluid demonio whose motives are never quite clear. For the first time in their life, Mar may have the courage to use their magic. It could be their only redemption--or it could mean certain death.
Download or read book Down Out The Magazine Volume 1 Issue 4 written by Rick Ollerman and published by Down & Out Books. This book was released on 2018-08-15 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Issue four closes our exciting first year with the very talented debut of Arthur Klepchukov. His intelligent “A Damn Fine Town” is followed by film director and writer John Shepphird and a prequel to his award-nominated “Shill” trilogy, a bit of a teaser for those of you who may not have discovered Jane Innes…yet. Brian Silverman is up next with a story set on his fictional Caribbean island of St. Pierre featuring his characters, Leonard and Tubby. The featured story this issue is of the most excellent Inspector Kubu by the writing team of Michael Stanley. If “Shoot to Kill” is your first Kubu tale, believe me, he’s only better when he’s in a novel. Our featured historical story is by the very prolific, very good Frederick C. Davis, who became one of Harry Whittington’s “St. Pete Boys,” the group of writers like Gil Brewer, Day Keene, and occasionally John D. MacDonald, that met on Sunday afternoons at Harry’s house. Davis’s story is the first Secrets, Inc. installment, “Blood on the Block.” We close out the issue with an offbeat heist story by Robb T. White called “Inside Man,” and a short piece by the always terrific Lissa Marie Redmond, who first appeared in issue two, called “We Don’t Talk About Lester Anymore.” There’s a good reason for that.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: [Webnovel provides the latest update of The Author's POV] The person whom the world revolves around. The person who defeats all of his opponents, and ultimately gets the beautiful girl. The sole existence all villains fear. That is the protagonist. What about me? As a failed author who had only one success throughout his whole career, I had reincarnated into my late novel. "This is it" I thought, as I tightly clenched my fist. Did I just get reincarnated in my own novel? Is this where I reincarnate in a novel and become the protagonist? No. Sadly it's not that kind of novel, as I reincarnated as a mob. The world doesn't revolve around me. The girls don't come flocking towards me. The cheat items don't come to me. "Phew" I let out a sigh of relief. "Thank god I'm not the protagonist" I joyfully shouted as tears streamed down my cheeks. Wait, are you curious as to why I don't want to be the protagonist? I did forget to mention the most important thing when I was describing a protagonist. That is... They are calamity magnets. I just died. If I learned something from that, it's that it really isn't a pleasant experience. If possible let me live a long stable life. Thank you, whoever reincarnated me. I would later come to regret these words...

Download or read book Black Paper written by Teju Cole and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2023-01-05 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A profound book of essays from a celebrated master of the form. “Darkness is not empty,” writes Teju Cole in Black Paper, a book that meditates on what it means to sustain our humanity—and witness the humanity of others—in a time of darkness. One of the most celebrated essayists of his generation, Cole here plays variations on the essay form, modeling ways to attend to experience—not just to take in but to think critically about what we sense and what we don’t. Wide-ranging but thematically unified, the essays address ethical questions about what it means to be human and what it means to bear witness, recognizing how our individual present is informed by a collective past. Cole’s writings in Black Paper approach the fractured moment of our history through a constellation of interrelated concerns: confrontation with unsettling art, elegies both public and private, the defense of writing in a time of political upheaval, the role of the color black in the visual arts, the use of shadow in photography, and the links between literature and activism. Throughout, Cole gives us intriguing new ways of thinking about blackness and its numerous connotations. As he describes the carbon-copy process in his epilogue: “Writing on the top white sheet would transfer the carbon from the black paper onto the bottom white sheet. Black transported the meaning.”
