The Book of Truth casts your relationships--and what they reveal about you--in a dramatic and radical new light. The channeled literature of Paul Selig--who receives clairaudient dictation from unseen intellects called the Guides--has quickly become the most important and celebrated expression of channeling since A Course In Miracles rose to prominence in the 1970s. Selig's previous trilogy of channeled wisdom--I Am the Word, The Book of Love and Creation, and The Book of Knowing and Worth--won a large following around the world for its depth, intimacy, and psychological insight. The first book of his new Mastery Trilogy, The Book of Mastery, likewise attained popularity and praise. Now, Selig continues the "Teachings of Mastery" with the widely anticipated second volume in his new series: The Book of Truth.

Download or read book Occult truth is Nature without the illusory veil of the senses written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-06-29 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On the essence of Truth beneath and beyond external appearances. 1. The Beacon-Light of occult truth is Nature without the illusory veil of the senses. She is the Rainbow of Hope and our only hope. 2. True wisdom, being a projection of our perceptive consciousness, acts within without, and not vice versa, awakening the spiritual senses in us and the power to act. Brain power and logic, being outward looking, can only serve the interests of lower minds. 3. Inner Wisdom is the Wisdom of Love and code of sublime ethics. Its noble ideals alone can empower people to reject the parasitic plants of human fabrication which are choking all goodness and truth in the world. 4. The ancient Egyptians, the Ethiopians of the East who came from Lanka or Ceylon, were a colony of dark-skinned Aryans, the Dravidians of Southern India, who took an already existing civilization with them to Egypt. He who dissipates the darkness of ignorance by the torch of truth awakens in our benumbed souls the faculty of distinguishing the true from the false, and kindles a divine flame hitherto absent. 5. Theosophy is the white ray from which arise the seven colours of the solar spectrum, each human being assimilating one of these rays to a greater degree than the other six. Theosophy, or rather the occult sciences it studies, is something more than simple metaphysics: it is universal transcendentalism. 6. The numerical value of the names of old divinities was taught in the Lesser Mysteries. But Mystery Language itself was reserved for the high initiates alone. Envy, jealousy, and rivalry, reign supreme in a society whose principal object is brotherhood. Instead of helping one another, many look askance at each other, always ready to make fun of each other and criticise. 7. The Theosophical Society is a Republic of Conscience. Knowledge of Cosmogenesis is the key to All-knowledge. The Theosophical Society is the Tree of Brotherhood, grown from a kernel planted in the earth by the angel of Charity and Justice. It depends upon its members to make of their Society an ark destined, in a future not too distant, to transport the humanity of a new cycle beyond the vast muddy waters of the deluge of hopeless materialism. In the meantime, we all should seek to bring some peace on earth to the hearts of those who suffer, by lifting for them a corner of the veil which hides from them divine truth.
Download or read book The Brain Consciousness Illusion of Truth written by Karol Ondrias and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 1999 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ...How do we know that something is true or false? How does the brain discern the truth? What kind of mechanism allows the brain to interpret the information received in the shape of electrical and chemical impulses to which it is constantly exposed? Is it the case that our brains are endowed with appropriate algorithmic rules for discriminating between truth and untruth, alongside certain rules for handling, say, optical information? Is it the case that the brain produces illusions of truth like it does illusions of vision? My answer is in the positive, and this is what I shall be seeking to show in this essay. An essay in style, The Brain, Consciousness and Illusion of Truth is a valuable addition to the literature on the mind/body problem and an engrossing account of the human brain with its services and disservices to the self. Karol Ondrias is one of the 'disturbing' authors who will not stop at taboos. Problems he addresses here are of our postmodern era, when people, still tightly controlled by their ancestral genetic code and ethnocentric cultural stereotypes, are acquiring an awareness of this and trying to review the authenticated behavioral patterns and preconceived ideas still shaping their lives. The notion of the distorted and manipulated reception of the world cuts through the whole of the essay. ...The human race, the author argues, cannot afford any longer remain content with the illusory certainties provided by the 'selfish' genes and by parochial cultures (however dear to the cockles of our heart the latter might be). But isn't it just another illusion - to try and free the self from the comfortable bondage of biological and cultural forces? The essay will take you to the further and farther reaches of human nature and this may be part of the answer.

Download or read book Practices of Truth written by Baudouin Dupret and published by John Benjamins Publishing. This book was released on 2011-10-26 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The claim of this book is that truth is a matter of language games and practical achievements: it is a “member phenomenon”. To document this statement, it proceeds to the investigation of instances of truth-related practices in various Arab contexts. Bearing on the constitution of actions and events, on what is factual or objective, on predictability, consequentiality, intentionality, causality, and on the many ways people orient to them, such a varied set of questions appears thoroughly moral. The praxeological respecification this book undertakes leads to important considerations regarding the question of morality in ordinary reasoning, and the categories and categorizations on which that morality is based: moral values are publicly available; morality has a modal logic; moral values and conventions have an open texture; objectivity is a practical achievement carried out by members of society; the moral order is an omnipresent, constitutive characteristic of social practice.

Download or read book The Politics of Truth written by Joseph Wilson and published by PublicAffairs. This book was released on 2007-08-11 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Through the last three presidential administrations and two wars with Iraq, no one has personally witnessed, influenced, or fueled news over more history-making events than Joseph Wilson. The last American diplomat to sit face-to-face with Saddam Hussein, he is a consummate insider who has the intelligence, principles, and independence to examine current American foreign policy and the inner workings of government and to form a candid assessment of the United States' involvement in the world. In February 2002, Joseph Wilson was sent to Niger by the CIA to investigate claims that Iraq had sought to purchase uranium in that country. Wilson's report, and two from other American officials, conclusively negated such rumors, yet all were brushed aside by the White House. Startled by the infamous words uttered by George W. Bush in his 2003 State of the Union Address: "The British Government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa," Wilson decided to reveal the truth behind the initiation of the Iraq war. The Politics of Truth is an explosive and revelatory book by a man who stands for the accurate recording of history against those forces bent on fabricating truth.

Book excerpt: "Born to an artistocratic Catholic family, Hermynia zur Mèuhlen became a prolific writer and translator, sometimes called the Red Countess for her left-wing ideas and revolutionary spirit. She began to write during the several years she spent in a sanitorium for tuberculosis, a disease she battled for the rest of her life. Exiled from Germany in the 1930s for her anti-Nazi convictions and her relationship with the German Jewish translator Stefan Klein, she eventually fled to England, where she spent her final years. The 17 fairy tales selected for this book were written primarily during her radical Weimar years and demonstrate the innovative techniques she used to raise the political consciousness of readers young and old. In contrast to the classical fairy tales of Perrault, the Brothers Grimm, and Hans Christian Andersen, Zur Mèuhlen's focus was on the plight of the working class and the cause of social justice"--

Download or read book Moments of Truth written by Thomas Dormandy and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2004-02-06 with total page 576 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who were the scientific geniuses behind some of the most innovative and important discoveries in modern medicine? Medical science in the 21st century is continuing to advance, but the character of that advancement is now governed by research teams and committees. Yet in the 19th century – a century when there were many great individual discoveries in medicine – the contributions of four individuals in particular accelerated developments in each of the main branches of medicine. This medical history by Thomas Dormandy focuses on these four individuals and their "moments of truth" - Laennec, a French physician; Semmelweis, a Hungarian obstetrician; Lister, a Scottish surgeon; and Walter Reed, an American army pathologist. They are not well known, compared with their contemporaries in other walks of life, yet their moments of truth transformed the lives of millions. Thomas Dormandy is a retired consultant pathologist (MD, PhD, DSc, FRCS, FRCPath). He is the author of over 300 scientific papers and two books aimed at a general readership, The White Death: A History of Turberculosis , which was short listed for the Aventis prize and RMS book of the month, and Old Masters, a work of art history.
