This book was released on 2008-08-17 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is a thorough and comprehensive treatise on vector measures, treating the vectorial Radon integration in detail. It explores an interplay between, on the one side, linear operators, transferring real (complex) functions onto elements of locally convex Hausdorff spaces, and vector-valued measures, on the other. The book contains not only a large amount of new material but also corrects various errors in well-known results available in the literature.

Download or read book Foundations of Stochastic Analysis written by M. M. Rao and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-07-10 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Foundations of Stochastic Analysis deals with the foundations of the theory of Kolmogorov and Bochner and its impact on the growth of stochastic analysis. Topics covered range from conditional expectations and probabilities to projective and direct limits, as well as martingales and likelihood ratios. Abstract martingales and their applications are also discussed. Comprised of five chapters, this volume begins with an overview of the basic Kolmogorov-Bochner theorem, followed by a discussion on conditional expectations and probabilities containing several characterizations of operators and measures. The applications of these conditional expectations and probabilities to Reynolds operators are also considered. The reader is then introduced to projective limits, direct limits, and a generalized Kolmogorov existence theorem, along with infinite product conditional probability measures. The book also considers martingales and their applications to likelihood ratios before concluding with a description of abstract martingales and their applications to convergence and harmonic analysis, as well as their relation to ergodic theory. This monograph should be of considerable interest to researchers and graduate students working in stochastic analysis.

This book was released on 2009-02-05 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Integration theory deals with extended real-valued, vector-valued, or operator-valued measures and functions, but different approaches are used for each case. Download or read book Handbook of Measure Theory written by E. Pap and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2002-10-31 with total page 1633 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main goal of this Handbook isto survey measure theory with its many different branches and itsrelations with other areas of mathematics. Mostly aggregating many classical branches of measure theory the aim of the Handbook is also to cover new fields, approaches and applications whichsupport the idea of "measure" in a wider sense, e.g. the ninth part of the Handbook. Although chapters are written of surveys in the variousareas they contain many special topics and challengingproblems valuable for experts and rich sources of inspiration.Mathematicians from other areas as well as physicists, computerscientists, engineers and econometrists will find useful results andpowerful methods for their research. The reader may find in theHandbook many close relations to other mathematical areas: realanalysis, probability theory, statistics, ergodic theory, functional analysis, potential theory, topology, set theory, geometry, differential equations, optimization, variationalanalysis, decision making and others. The Handbook is a richsource of relevant references to articles, books and lecturenotes and it contains for the reader's convenience an extensivesubject and author index.
Download or read book Concrete Functional Calculus written by R. M. Dudley and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-11-03 with total page 675 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Concrete Functional Calculus focuses primarily on differentiability of some nonlinear operators on functions or pairs of functions. This includes composition of two functions, and the product integral, taking a matrix- or operator-valued coefficient function into a solution of a system of linear differential equations with the given coefficients. In this book existence and uniqueness of solutions are proved under suitable assumptions for nonlinear integral equations with respect to possibly discontinuous functions having unbounded variation. Key features and topics: Extensive usage of p-variation of functions, and applications to stochastic processes. This work will serve as a thorough reference on its main topics for researchers and graduate students with a background in real analysis and, for Chapter 12, in probability.
Download or read book Integral Representation written by Walter Roth and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2023-10-04 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a wide-ranging approach to operator-valued measures and integrals of both vector-valued and set-valued functions. It covers convergence theorems and an integral representation for linear operators on spaces of continuous vector-valued functions on a locally compact space. These are used to extend Choquet theory, which was originally formulated for linear functionals on spaces of real-valued functions, to operators of this type.

Download or read book Topological Vector Spaces and Their Applications written by V.I. Bogachev and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-05-16 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gives a compact exposition of the fundamentals of the theory of locally convex topological vector spaces. Furthermore it contains a survey of the most important results of a more subtle nature, which cannot be regarded as basic, but knowledge which is useful for understanding applications. Finally, the book explores some of such applications connected with differential calculus and measure theory in infinite-dimensional spaces. These applications are a central aspect of the book, which is why it is different from the wide range of existing texts on topological vector spaces. Overall, this book develops differential and integral calculus on infinite-dimensional locally convex spaces by using methods and techniques of the theory of locally convex spaces. The target readership includes mathematicians and physicists whose research is related to infinite-dimensional analysis.

Download or read book Vector Measures written by Joseph Diestel and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1977-06-01 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this survey the authors endeavor to give a comprehensive examination of the theory of measures having values in Banach spaces. The interplay between topological and geometric properties of Banach spaces and the properties of measures having values in Banach spaces is the unifying theme. The first chapter deals with countably additive vector measures finitely additive vector measures, the Orlicz-Pettis theorem and its relatives. Chapter II concentrates on measurable vector valued functions and the Bochner integral. Chapter III begins the study of the interplay among the Radon-Nikodym theorem for vector measures, operators on $L_1$ and topological properties of Banach spaces. A variety of applications is given in the next chapter. Chapter V deals with martingales of Bochner integrable functions and their relation to dentable subsets of Banach spaces. Chapter VI is devoted to a measure-theoretic study of weakly compact absolutely summing and nuclear operators on spaces of continuous functions. In Chapter VII a detailed study of the geometry of Banach spaces with the Radon-Nikodym property is given. The next chapter deals with the use of Radon-Nikodym theorems in the study of tensor products of Banach spaces. The last chapter concludes the survey with a discussion of the Liapounoff convexity theorem and other geometric properties of the range of a vector measure. Accompanying each chapter is an extensive survey of the literature and open problems.
