Download or read book The Ascension of Sheep written by John Kinsella and published by . This book was released on 2022-03 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Collected in one place for the first time are poems that have appeared in chapbooks or other publications outside Australia, or that have are out of print. Kinsella's major poetic concerns have been how to write place without claiming place (he acknowledges he lives on stolen Aboriginal land), how to write of being part of many place-experiences at once, and how to write the biosphere with ecological and humanitarian justice in mind. Further, his poems consider how we might be regionally communal and internationally responsive at once, without ever succumbing to economic globalism: a mode of living he refers to as 'international regionalism'. Always attuned to the natural world, his activist poetry examines how humans respond to a world that they themselves have placed under pressure.

Download or read book A A Sheep s Tale written by David Allen Campbell and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-01-24 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Sheep's Tale, book 3 of The Seventieth Week Chronicles, is a work of fiction that intersects with the paths of the protagonists, John and Techie, of the first two books: The Making of a Martyr and The Journey of a Martyr's Companion. It is a two-part tale of a young woman with a checkered past trying to turn her life around when she is caught up in a world gone insane. Fleeing a major metropolis, she finds her way into the rural Midwest where she attempts to live a quiet life. Renting a small bungalow, she befriends her new neighbors Techie and his new companion who work at newly constructed prison. She soon finds herself confronted with a decision whether to become involved or not in a clandestine operation. Her decision finds herself, along with some new friends, as fugitives of the state. Living off the grid, she and her friends are alive when the Lord returns in judgment. Part two of the book finds her standing on a sea of golden glass awaiting the judgment of the sheep versus the goats. Being found among the sheep, they are introduced to a new world created for them and the nation of Israel. What follows is the author's imagination based on multitudes of scriptures contained in an appendix named "A Sheep's Tale--Index of Scriptural References." Eternity with God is beyond our imagination, but the Word has plenty to say about a new world and the lives of those who will reside upon it for a thousand years.
Download or read book Benner s Translation of the Torah written by Jeff A. Benner and published by Ancient Hebrew Research Center. This book was released on 2021-06-28 with total page 1262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The translation in this book is the Revised Mechanical Translation, which is derived from Mr. Benner’s The Torah: A Mechanical Translation (Also available through the bookstore). In the The Torah: A Mechanical Translation (MT) each Hebrew word is translated faithfully according to its original linguistic and cultural perspective. Mr. Benner's vision of this translation included a translation that: 1. eliminates personal and religious bias on the part of the translator, 2. translates each Hebrew word, prefix and suffix, exactly the same way, every time it occurs in the text, 3. can be read and understood by the average person who does not have any prior knowledge of the Hebrew language, 4. includes a dictionary of each word used in the translation as well as a concordance, and 5. can be used as a tool by those who are learning to read Biblical Hebrew. Each verse in the translation includes the Revised Mechanical Translation, which rearranges the words so that it will follow English syntax. For instance, Hebrew syntax places the subject of the verb (Elohiym) after the verb (shaped Elohiym). However, in English syntax the subject comes before the verb (Elohiym shaped). In addition, some words will be changed for clarity. For example, in Hebrew, one says “in a mountain,” but we would say “on a mountain” and this translation will reflect such changes. This Revised Mechanical Translation is the translation found in this book. You will notice, as you read this translation, it does not “flow” as easily as the translations you are used to. The reason for this is that this translation is designed to allow the reader to see the Hebrew behind the English by using the English language. So while this translation may not read easily, you are getting a glimpse of the Hebrew language behind the translation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the photographs of the Dead Sea Scrolls were released in 1992, there has been an explosion of interest in them. This volume explores the issue of apocalypticism in the Scrolls; how the notions of the 'end', Messianic expectation and eternal life affected the Dead Sea sect, influenced Judaism and filtered into Christianity. Collins' volume provides a valuable and accessible introduction to the interpretation of the Scrolls, which is an informative addition to the series examining the major themes of the Scroll texts.
Download or read book Your Hearts Will Rejoice written by Ludolf (von Sachsen) and published by Liturgical Press. This book was released on 2016 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Vita Christi, a spiritual classic of the fourteenth century by the Carthusian Ludolph of Saxony, was an early and extremely comprehensive book of meditations on the events recorded in the gospels. A popular and influential book for centuries, it was instrumental in the conversion of Ignatius Loyola, and Teresa of Avila directed that every convent of her reform include "the Carthusian" in its library. This volume, which consists of excerpts from the full Vita Christi (forthcoming from Cistercian Publications), presents Ludolph's meditations on the resurrection and the appearances of the risen Christ, concluding with Pentecost. Although shelves of books are dedicated to Christ's passion, comparatively little spiritual reading for the Easter Season exists. This book is intended to help fill that lacuna and to introduce readers to this classic text.

Download or read book Wolves in Sheep s Clothing written by Larry Herneisey and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2020-01-28 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: And Jesus answered and said unto them, take heed that no man deceive you. (Matthew 24:4) Are Christians in today's churches being deceived? If we were, how would we know? We often accept doctrines of today's popular teachers at face value, without ever comparing their claims against the principles of Scripture. Taking for granted that everything we are hearing taught is truthful and sound doctrine, is to be very naïve. Jesus warns us in Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." We live in an age of rapid change and much deception. If the teaching of the church is going to remain sound, the responsibility rests with us. "Wolves in Sheep's Clothing" is a study guide, a reference source, and a thought-provoking look at many of the teachings prevalent in today's Christian church. The author exposes many of today's false teachings, often with a bold stance. The false teachers propagate their lies with boldness, therefore at times it is necessary to stand against them with boldness. After studying this work, the reader will be empowered to sort through the misleading and deceptive doctrines of today, and avoid the common traps set by most false teachers. Hopefully by the end of the study the reader will have learned practical ways to determine for himself whether a teaching is truthful or in error. At the very least this study will provoke the reader to deep spiritual thought, and at the most, it will set people free from the bonds of false teaching. This study will benefit the fresh new believer and the seminary student, as well as the seasoned Bible teacher. This work is a must read for pastors, teachers, Bible study leaders, and anyone who thirsts after truth.
