Book The Art and Science of Chemical Analysis

Download or read book The Art and Science of Chemical Analysis written by Alana Wood and published by NY Research Press. This book was released on 2023-09-26 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chemical analysis refers to the study of the chemical composition and structure of different types of substances. The different techniques of chemical analysis are used to determine the exact chemical information of a substance. Chemical analysis is a part of analytical chemistry, which is a branch of chemistry involved in the study of instruments and methods for the separation, identification and quantification of matter. Some of the major chemical analysis procedures include isotopic analysis and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), field flow fractionation (FFF), mass spectrometry (MS), calorimetry, and surface plasma resonance (SPR). NMR is an analytical procedure which studies the structure of molecules and the interaction of different molecules. Advancements in the field of analytical chemistry find applications in biomedicine, quality control of industrial manufacturing, environmental monitoring, and forensic science. The book aims to shed light on chemical analysis procedures and its applications. It consists of contributions made by international experts. The book aims to serve as a resource guide for students and experts alike.

Book Qualitative Chemical Analysis

Download or read book Qualitative Chemical Analysis written by Silas Hamilton Douglas and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-09-16 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Qualitative Chemical Analysis: A Guide in the Practical Study of Chemistry and in the Work To aid the student in gaining an accurate acquaintance with the facts whereby analyses are made, and a clear understanding of the co-ordination of these facts - the principles of analysis - has been the chief object in this work. It is the result of experience in the constant endeavor to prevent habits of automatic operation and of superficial observation in analysis. Farther, it is desired that the book may be found convenient and reliable for ref erence by chemists, pharmacists, and others, who occasionally or habitually perform analyses. The organic bases and acids, with a few exceptions, have been omitted from con sideration. This is not done from neglect, but from a conviction of their too great importance for the subordinate and cursory attention which can be given to them in works devoted mainly to inorganic analysis. To the faithful workers who have wrought out the great science of Chemistry, the writers humbly acknowledge their indebtedness for whatever of truth or value this little manual may contain. Book Sample Preparation Techniques in Analytical Chemistry

Download or read book Sample Preparation Techniques in Analytical Chemistry written by Somenath Mitra and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2004-04-07 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The importance of accurate sample preparation techniques cannot be overstated--meticulous sample preparation is essential. Often overlooked, it is the midway point where the analytes from the sample matrix are transformed so they are suitable for analysis. Even the best analytical techniques cannot rectify problems generated by sloppy sample pretreatment. Devoted entirely to teaching and reinforcing these necessary pretreatment steps, Sample Preparation Techniques in Analytical Chemistry addresses diverse aspects of this important measurement step. These include: * State-of-the-art extraction techniques for organic and inorganic analytes * Sample preparation in biological measurements * Sample pretreatment in microscopy * Surface enhancement as a sample preparation tool in Raman and IR spectroscopy * Sample concentration and clean-up methods * Quality control steps Designed to serve as a text in an undergraduate or graduate level curriculum, Sample Preparation Techniques in Analytical Chemistry also provides an invaluable reference tool for analytical chemists in the chemical, biological, pharmaceutical, environmental, and materials sciences.

Book A System of Instruction in Quantitative Chemical Analysis

Download or read book A System of Instruction in Quantitative Chemical Analysis written by C. Remigius Fresenius and published by . This book was released on 2015-06-29 with total page 814 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A System of Instruction in Quantitative Chemical Analysis: From the Last Whatever has been proposed, either in this country or on the Continent, to facilitate the path of analysis, has been tested, and, when found sound and practical, has been introduced in the proper place. Every doubtful point has been rigidly subjected to repeated experiments, errors corrected and faults amended, and many new processes added from the Author's ample experience in his own laboratory." Among the additions there introduced, the volumetrical methods of determining the constituents of commercial articles were pointed out as particularly important for economizing time, and assisting in every way the practical chemist. The entire work has been re-cast, considerably simplified, and almost re-written. New matter has been introduced to the extent of one-fourth of the whole volume. Many of the processes the best then known, but rendered obsolete by the progress of the science - have been replaced by others more certain, simple, and efficient; and this is particularly the case with the volumetrical processes. Among other changes, I may specify the analytical processes for clays, soils, cast iron, atmospheric air, and lead ores. This work on Quantitative Analysis, although in itself complete, may be regarded as a sequel to the Author's Qualitative Analysis - a work which has been found of the highest value - nay, almost indispensable - to the student of chemistry, whatever other books on the subject he may possess. As a guide to Analytical Chemistry, the merits of the present volume are of the highest order. The arrangement is simple, methodical, and consecutive; the theoretical explanations are appropriate, clear, and intelligible; the language plain, and the directness and honesty of purpose, together with the just appreciation of the labors of others displayed throughout, must commend it to every one engaged in studying, teaching, or practising Chemistry; and I have great pleasure in being the medium of presenting it to the English public. Book Tables for Qualitative Chemical Analysis

Download or read book Tables for Qualitative Chemical Analysis written by Heinrich Will and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-11-24 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Tables for Qualitative Chemical Analysis: With an Introductory Chapter on the Course of Analysis For details of properties, etc., in addition to instruction in the laboratory, the student is constantly referred to some one of the manuals of analytical chemistry placed in the laboratory for this purpose. Whilst these tables seem thus well adapted to a course of college studies, their general popularity, as well as scientific character, is indicated by their extensive adoption in the German universities, and their indorsement by many of the most eminent chemists in this country, and their introduction, in part at least, into many laboratory handbooks.
