Download or read book Linear Feedback Control written by Dingyu Xue and published by SIAM. This book was released on 2007-01-01 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses analysis and design techniques for linear feedback control systems using MATLAB® software. By reducing the mathematics, increasing MATLAB working examples, and inserting short scripts and plots within the text, the authors have created a resource suitable for almost any type of user. The book begins with a summary of the properties of linear systems and addresses modeling and model reduction issues. In the subsequent chapters on analysis, the authors introduce time domain, complex plane, and frequency domain techniques. Their coverage of design includes discussions on model-based controller designs, PID controllers, and robust control designs. A unique aspect of the book is its inclusion of a chapter on fractional-order controllers, which are useful in control engineering practice.
Download or read book A Discrete Time Approach for system Analysis written by Michel Cuenod and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-05-14 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Discrete-Time Approach for System Analysis is a five-chapter text that considers the underlying principles and application of a discrete-time approach to system analysis. Chapter 1 presents several different unit functions that are used in practice and describes how to obtain a closed form for the sequence of unit functions by using the E- and the z-transforms. This chapter also compares some aspects of spectral analysis and impulse analysis, and finally, discusses some aspects of interpolation between sampled data of the functions by impulse analysis techniques. Chapter 2 provides the functional operations using the sequences of unit functions, namely, addition, subtraction, multiplication, convolution, deconvolution, integration, and differentiation. Chapter 3 examines linear, time-varying, nonlinear and partial differential equations, and the use of the discrete time approach to solve these equations. Chapters 4 and 5 discuss several applications of impulse analysis to control problems, basically, system analysis and identification. This book is particularly useful to engineers with an introduction to some techniques for finding solutions of certain time-invariant, time-varying, and nonlinear differential equations arising in physical systems.

Download or read book Feedback Control Theory written by John C. Doyle and published by Courier Corporation. This book was released on 2013-04-09 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An excellent introduction to feedback control system design, this book offers a theoretical approach that captures the essential issues and can be applied to a wide range of practical problems. Its explorations of recent developments in the field emphasize the relationship of new procedures to classical control theory, with a focus on single input and output systems that keeps concepts accessible to students with limited backgrounds. The text is geared toward a single-semester senior course or a graduate-level class for students of electrical engineering. The opening chapters constitute a basic treatment of feedback design. Topics include a detailed formulation of the control design program, the fundamental issue of performance/stability robustness tradeoff, and the graphical design technique of loopshaping. Subsequent chapters extend the discussion of the loopshaping technique and connect it with notions of optimality. Concluding chapters examine controller design via optimization, offering a mathematical approach that is useful for multivariable systems.

Download or read book Linear Control System Analysis and Design with MATLAB Sixth Edition written by Constantine H. Houpis and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2013-10-30 with total page 732 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thoroughly classroom-tested and proven to be a valuable self-study companion, Linear Control System Analysis and Design: Sixth Edition provides an intensive overview of modern control theory and conventional control system design using in-depth explanations, diagrams, calculations, and tables. Keeping mathematics to a minimum, the book is designed with the undergraduate in mind, first building a foundation, then bridging the gap between control theory and its real-world application. Computer-aided design accuracy checks (CADAC) are used throughout the text to enhance computer literacy. Each CADAC uses fundamental concepts to ensure the viability of a computer solution. Completely updated and packed with student-friendly features, the sixth edition presents a range of updated examples using MATLAB®, as well as an appendix listing MATLAB functions for optimizing control system analysis and design. Over 75 percent of the problems presented in the previous edition have been revised or replaced.

Download or read book Advances in Gain Scheduling and Fault Tolerant Control Techniques written by Damiano Rotondo and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-10-14 with total page 269 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis reports on novel methods for gain-scheduling and fault tolerant control (FTC). It begins by analyzing the connection between the linear parameter varying (LPV) and Takagi-Sugeno (TS) paradigms. This is then followed by a detailed description of the design of robust and shifting state-feedback controllers for these systems. Furthermore, it presents two approaches to fault-tolerant control: the first is based on a robust polytopic controller design, while the second involves a reconfiguration of the reference model and the addition of virtual actuators into the loop. Inaddition the thesis offers a thorough review of the state-of-the art in gain scheduling and fault-tolerant control, with a special emphasis on LPV and TS systems.
