Book Fire Insurance

Download or read book Fire Insurance written by C. C. Hine and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-27 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Fire Insurance: A Book of Instructions for the Use of Agents in the United States This book is intended for a working handbook, devoted to the daily practice and duties of the Agency, rather than to labored details or scientific methods. Every paragraph is intended to contain some valuable, practical suggestion; and the entire work is commended to the careful reading of every Agent, in the hope that he will reduce to practice the rules here laid down, for the mutual good of his companies and himself. The Book, when adopted and sent out by a company, is as binding upon the Agent who receives it as the Written will of the company would be; and it is important that Agents be familiar with these rules and regulations, as they define and limit their authority, and are to be faithfully adhered to. Any wilful violation of them, in making contracts of insurance, would render the policies liable to cancelment. In this connection, agents are recommended to acquaint themselves with the Law of Agency, that they may understand their liability in case of loss through disobedience of instructions. Familiarity with the Instruction Book will also save much correspondence and delay, as Agents will find herein, answers to most of their questions and solutions of most of their difficulties. Book The Law of Fire Insurance Classic Reprint

Download or read book The Law of Fire Insurance Classic Reprint written by Charles John Bunyon and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-03-21 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Law of Fire Insurance The Author has endeavoured, in the present volume, to ofi'er to the reader a view of the Law of Fire Insurance as it now exists, and as applied to the practice of Insurance Offices. Ohe imagines that such a work is wanted, and he trusts that it may be useful. This is, indeed, the only consolation of the text-writer - for, like a child digging castles in the sand, he sees each succeeding wave of judicial decisions obliterate his labours, until the lapse of a few years renders his book all but valueless, and it sinks like an old newspaper into a mere record of the past. It is very true that the same fate awaits with increasing certainty the writer in almost every other department of knowledge. The extension of education, and the advances that are every day made in science and criticism, have so multiplied books and authors, that it is only at very rare intervals that the publeation can be expected of a stand work, that will not at no distant date oe' superseded by some more perfect production. The labours of the ten-writer have, however, many uses, not only in informmg the student, and assisting the practi tioner, but in so bringing together the authorities as to detect. It is essential to the contract that there shall be an insurable interest. In the early days insurable interest perhaps was not absolutely requisite, although it appears to have been more so in fire insurance than either in marine insurance or in life insurance. In 1746, a statute was placed on the books in Great Britain making insurable interest necessary in marine policies.
