Download or read book Organic Chemistry written by T. W. Graham Solomons and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2016-01-19 with total page 1202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 12th edition of Organic Chemistry continues Solomons, Fryhle & Snyder's tradition of excellence in teaching and preparing students for success in the organic classroom and beyond. A central theme of the authors' approach to organic chemistry is to emphasize the relationship between structure and reactivity. To accomplish this, the content is organized in a way that combines the most useful features of a functional group approach with one largely based on reaction mechanisms. The authors' philosophy is to emphasize mechanisms and their common aspects as often as possible, and at the same time, use the unifying features of functional groups as the basis for most chapters. The structural aspects of the authors' approach show students what organic chemistry is. Mechanistic aspects of their approach show students how it works. And wherever an opportunity arises, the authors' show students what it does in living systems and the physical world around us.
Download or read book Effect of Brake Forming in Various Tempers on the Strength of Alclad 75S T Aluminum alloy Sheet written by Walter Woods and published by . This book was released on 1947 with total page 530 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Results of presented of tests to determine the effect of brake forming in various tempers on the strength of Alclade 75S-T aluminum-alloy sheet in the direction parallel to the brake. The tensile and compressive strengths of Alclad 75S-T sheet, formed in the O and W tempers, were either increased or little affected as compared with those of similarly treated unformed material. When Alclad 75S-T sheet "as received" was formed, however, the tensile yield stress was reduced about 7 percent for the with-grain direction and 1 percent for the cross-grain direction, whereas the tensile ultimate and compressive yield strength stresses were increased somewhat. The elongation was always slightly reduced as a result of forming.
Download or read book Organosilicon Derivatives of Phosphorus and Sulfur written by S. Borisov and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the characteristics of the development of chemical science in the middle of the present century is the vigorous pro gress of the "third chemistry," which is often named now the chemistry of heteroorganic compounds. Then in the last decade, among specialists in this field there has been a marked increase in interest in heteroatomic organic derivatives of silicon, i. e. , heteroorganic silicon compounds. However, until recently this new class of chemical substances, which is extremely interesting theoretically and practically, has been without a single specialized monograph which systematizes and generalizes all progress in the heteroorganic chemistry of silicon. The first attempt in this direction was our book "Heteroorganic Compounds of Silicon" [42 (F), 17 (S) *], which appeared at the end of 1966 and was published as an English translation in the USA in 1969. However, as follows from its subtitle "Derivatives of Inorganic Elements," this mono graph could not cover the whole broad field of the chemistry of heteroorganic compounds of silicon. The main reason for this was above all the abundance and variety of original investigations of organosilicon derivatives of inorganic elements, which was un expected even to the authors themselves. As a result of this the planned length of the book compelled us to omit the sections on organosilicon compounds of phosphorus and sulfur, which had al ready been prepared for publication.

Download or read book Chromenes Chromanones and Chromones Volume 31 written by Gwynn P. Ellis and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2009-09-15 with total page 1213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, since its inception, has been recognized as a cornerstone of heterocyclic chemistry. Each volume attempts to discuss all aspects – properties, synthesis, reactions, physiological and industrial significance – of a specific ring system. To keep the series up-to-date, supplementary volumes covering the recent literature on each individual ring system have been published. Many ring systems (such as pyridines and oxazoles) are treated in distinct books, each consisting of separate volumes or parts dealing with different individual topics. With all authors are recognized authorities, the Chemistry of Heterocyclic Chemistry is considered worldwide as the indispensable resource for organic, bioorganic, and medicinal chemists.
