This book was released on 2024-02-28 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Assessing the microbiota biodiversity of fermented food products, such as bacterial and fungal diversity, can inform on the nutritional value of such products as well as assessing the safety for consumption. Understanding the bacterial or fungal composition of such products is important to ensure food safety and prevent possible contamination with foodborne pathogens which may have serious public health implications. For example, the U.S Food and Drug Administration (2014) tested samples of cheeses prepared using unpasteurized milks and identified the presence of Listeria monocytogenes and Shiga-toxin producing Escherichia coli.

Download or read book The symphytognathoid spiders of the Gaoligongshan Yunnan China Araneae Araneoidea Systematics and diversity of micro orbweavers written by Jeremy Miller and published by PenSoft Publishers LTD. This book was released on 2009-05-31 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over a period of 10 years, scientists from a coalition of international institutions surveyed the biota of the Gaoligong mountains in western Yunnan, China. Focal taxa included selected plants, vertebrates, and arthropods. The study area lies at the heart of one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots and is home to biomes ranging from subtropical forest to tundra. In this special issue, we report on the results of that survey for micro-orbweaving spiders, cryptic animals mostly less than 1 mm long that build delicate, geometric webs. All told, over 1,000 adult micro-orbweavers were collected and sorted to three dozen species, all new to science. The enormous scale of the world’s biodiversity means that science needs data structures to facilitate organization, aggregation, and instant sharing of data. This publication contributes to major aggregators and indexers of electronic biodiversity data including ZooBank, the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), Morphbank, and the Encyclopedia of Life (EOL), supplementing the traditional paper mode. Typical of publications in taxonomy, this paper is composed of several components including the primary biodiversity data (specimen, locality, and related information), media (e.g., photographs and drawings), text elements (e.g., species descriptions), and nomenclature (e.g., new taxonomic names). Once these elements are parsed and absorbed by community databases, they can be disseminated, indexed, and recombined in myriad ways inconceivable for static paper publications. The barely imagined potential of these maturing digital resources makes the early 21st century a very exciting historical moment in taxonomy.
Download or read book The Big Book of Tarot Meanings written by Sam Magdaleno and published by Fair Winds Press. This book was released on 2022-03-15 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Find precise answers to your urgent questions—The Big Book of Tarot Meanings takes you beyond typical, generic card meanings by breaking each card down into eight interpretation categories. Interpreting card meanings is the most exciting aspect of reading tarot. However, it is also the most challenging, especially if you are new to the art. For example, basic tarot interpretation would have you understand that The Lovers card has to do with relationships—but what if your question had to do with career or health? How are you left to interpret the meaning? The Big Book of Tarot Meanings solves these dilemmas by breaking down each card into the eight most-queried categories, starting with Beginnings and ending with Outcome, with a meaning for each category, upright and reversed. No longer will you have to vaguely extrapolate meaning and insight for diverse questions from the same generic description often given in other beginner tarot books. In addition to providing fine-tuned interpretations, The Big Book of Tarot Meaningssolves a second common question that comes with a tarot reading—How do I apply this knowledge to my everyday life?—by giving you an action item for each meaning, upright and reversed. A summary of what this comprehensive tarot meaning book offers: A welcoming introduction to the basics of tarot and instructions for using the book Meanings for all 78 cards of the Major and Minor Arcana, with the various interpretations for each card organized into eight categories—Beginnings, Career, Money, Love, Friends & Family, Health, Higher Guidance, and Outcome—both upright and reversed An action item for every meaning, upright and reversed, to give you clear tools to work with and steps to take to move forward in the most aligned way With The Big Book of Tarot Meanings, you’ll never struggle again to know how the cards are answering you.
