Download or read book Crystals Fabrics and Fields written by Donna Jeanne Haraway and published by . This book was released on 2004 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Acclaimed theorist and social scientist Donna Jeanne Haraway uses the work of pioneering developmental biologists Ross G. Harrison, Joseph Needham, and Paul Weiss as a springboard for a discussion about a shift in developmental biology from a vitalism-mechanism framework to organicism. The book deftly interweaves Thomas Kuhn's concept of paradigm change into this wide-ranging analysis, emphasizing the role of model, analogy, and metaphor in the paradigm and arguing that any truly useful theoretical system in biology must have a central metaphor.
Download or read book The Human Photosynthesis written by Arturo Herrera and published by Litfire Publishing, LLC. This book was released on 2017-07-09 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The concept of Photosynthesis (building-up something using the Energy of light) is presently applied only to the plants kingdom. However the unraveling of the intrinsic property of melanin to split and re-form the water molecule breaks the paradigm. During a study about the three main causes of blindness initiated in 1990 in Aguascalientes, Mexico; Dr. Solis Herrera found the previously unknown capacity of melanin molecule to absorb photonic energy, dissipating it in a unique manner: splitting the water molecule. The very first step of life in plants and humans is practically the same: the dissociation of the water molecule.
Download or read book Against Typological Tyranny in Archaeology written by Cristóbal Gnecco and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-10-25 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The papers in this book question the tyranny of typological thinking in archaeology through case studies from various South American countries (Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia, Argentina, and Brazil) and Antarctica. They aim to show that typologies are unavoidable (they are, after all, the way to create networks that give meanings to symbols) but that their tyranny can be overcome if they are used from a critical, heuristic and non-prescriptive stance: critical because the complacent attitude towards their tyranny is replaced by a militant stance against it; heuristic because they are used as means to reach alternative and suggestive interpretations but not as ultimate and definite destinies; and non-prescriptive because instead of using them as threads to follow they are rather used as constitutive parts of more complex and connective fabrics. The papers included in the book are diverse in temporal and locational terms. They cover from so called Formative societies in lowland Venezuela to Inca-related ones in Bolivia; from the coastal shell middens of Brazil to the megalithic sculptors of SW Colombia. Yet, the papers are related. They have in common their shared rejection of established, naturalized typologies that constrain the way archaeologists see, forcing their interpretations into well known and predictable conclusions. Their imaginative interpretative proposals flee from the secure comfort of venerable typologies, many suspicious because of their association with colonial political narratives. Instead, the authors propose novel ways of dealing with archaeological data.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The German New Medicine discovered by Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer and systematized in the 5 Biological Laws represents a change in the understanding of what is commonly called a disease. The German New Medicine is not a new method of treatment but the understanding of natural laws applicable to humans and animals. Through his studies, Dr. R.G. Hamer, came to the conclusion that the disease processes are not "errors of nature" but rather Significant Biological Programs of Nature stemming from sudden and dramatic events. This book was written with the intent of shedding light on the understanding of the 5 Biological Laws, for those looking for and wanting to understand the issue fully; the study of matter and the spirit, whether reflective, critical and scientific, is up to the reader. www.5biologicallaws.com
Download or read book The Shaman s Way of Healing written by August Thalhamer and published by . This book was released on 2022 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shamanism, Family Constellations, Psychotherapy, the Christian Healing Tradition - their similarities and differences, illustrated with examples from a practitioner of all these methods. August Thalhamer, Austrian Catholic theologian, psychotherapist, and urban shaman is answering his calling to build bridges. Over the last half century, Thalhamer has been able to discover the harmony resonating between these (seemingly mutually-exclusive) worldviews, in theory and in practice. Here, he outlines the academic and intuitive paths that led to his own shamanic way of healing. This guide is a one-stop reference work for anyone interested in Shamanism. If your curiosity has ever left you wondering: What value does shamanic wisdom, ancient and contemporary, have for the Western world and how can we integrate it into our lives? This book will provide you with a solid harbor for launching your own personal journey, one you can always return to for inspiration. Univ.-Prof. Dr. H. H. Büttner, Wismar, wrote in the Ärzteblatt Mecklenburg-Vorpommern 8/2015 (the medical journal for the German edition): This book actually belongs in the hands of medical students and young doctors, because, by the way, it conveys western education, tradition and partly humanistic dimensions of medicine. We should again seek out the foundations on which the edifice of our philosophical and religious culture rests, also with regard to our mental health. Today's medical students would, of course, be recommended to study philosophy again in addition to physics (which, by the way, was abolished by the Prussian Ministry of Culture in 1861). I enjoyed reading and thinking a lot.
