Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The teddy bears' picnic gets a modern twist in this warm and fuzzy picture book about a young teddy bear who learns that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Ollie is a regular bear with a regular job. He listens to his girl's stories about her days, he snuggles her to sleep and he is there waiting when she gets home from school. Just your typical teddy bear stuff. So when he is whisked away to the annual teddy bears' picnic, he feels insignificant compared to the other bears who do daring and daunting things: sleepovers, hospital stays--even a night in the lost and found! After small talk with a regional stuffing manager, a department of cuddling official and a stitchery inspector; a stop at the snack table; and even some team building activities, it's time for the teddy bear service awards . . . and Ollie feels even more small and unimportant. But he soon learns that it's not just the big things that matter, it's the little things too. While parents will love the tongue-in-cheek office-party details, kids and parents alike will fall in love with Ollie: a sweet bear who discovers that his love for his girl makes him very special indeed.

Book A Day in the Life of My Teddys Bears

Download or read book A Day in the Life of My Teddys Bears written by Rosaleen Obrien-Pegler and published by Chipmunkapublishing ltd. This book was released on 2011-06-01 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: DescriptionIn writing this book Rosaleen has captured the heart of every man, woman, and child, seeing the world through the eyes of a Teddy Bear, and has stirred up childhood memories of long forgotten years. Whether you are a child or an adult this book has been written just for you. Teddy Bear is usually the one and only toy that Mum will trust with her baby, as he/or /she begins to learn how to place trust in what is usually her first soft toy. Such soft fur and a welcoming face is a joy to see giving young children confidence in the knowledge that when dad and mum turn out the lights at night their little one is not alone. Also Teddy plays a role when children have bee advised about their behaviour and they feel frustrated they can confide in Teddy. Teddy is on childrens level and even when one has to go shopping and leave at home their partner who may not be well it is a nice thing to place Teddy beside them on the sofa. This book has been written by Rosaleen who got behind the mind of Teddy and has related his concerns and joys, even older folk in hospices have a Teddy to bring comfort. All in all this book deserves a place in every school, nursery, library, and of course family homes.Teddy Bear promises one thing that is he will give you back all the love that you give him and more...By the way Rosaleen has just one question...What happened to your Teddy Bear?About the AuthorI have been in receipt of trauma counselling since 1999 on a daily basis, at times speaking till the early hours of the morning.Support from my trauma Counsellor helps me to come to terms with accepting that what has happened to me cannot now be changed. I cannot ever forgive those who had a vicarious liability to look after me and failed. As a result of being locked away for some years all because we were poor has brought certain limitations to my day to day life. Writing is a form of therapy and allows me to be free to be the person that I want to be, and should have been my birthright. Through writing I can reach out to others who may have had such an unfortunate experience as myself . Daily flashbacks can be upsetting and I fill my life with things to do so as to block them out. Day to day life can be exhausting and coping mechanisms that I learnt in order to survive have not helped me in the outside world. God help all fellow survivors and perhaps one day Ireland will accept the terrible price we paid. Shame on all you right thinking residents in Ireland to allow the government and Catholic Church to ignore harm done to me and many others who are either dead or too ill to tell their story. Thanks to Chipmunkapublishing I have been able to confront my demons and a Big Thank you to Reatha my trauma counsellor without her I would not be here today writing about my stolen life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Diminutive fireball Teddy Gibbs takes leave from a career in LA to come to the family ranch in New Mexico to help her mother recover from an illness. But over flights by the nudist balloonists--the New Mexico chapter of COHAB (Clothiing Optional Hot Air Ballooning)--shatter the bucolic tranquility. Baby colts are injured, confrontations ensue. The road Teddy travels to undo the standoff and secure a future from the family ranch takes her through the landscape that is the 21st Century West--a place of changing land use patterns, behind-the-scenes chcanery at Indain gaming casinoes and politcal hi jinks that passes for governance in state legislatures. A cast of characters bound together by a mutual abiding reverence for the entertainment value of anarchy accompanies her: cowboys Song and Dance, the silver-tongued Northern Cheyenne, Roland Talks in Many Places and, through revealing historical research, a Billy the Kid as proponent of "the examined life." Hoppe has figured out how to tell the story of the marginalized communities of the rural heartland in literary lingo that resonates far beyond its point of origin. In "Don't Let All The Pretty Days Get By" he gives us a post-modern romp throught he New West.

If you are reading this, it means my notebooks have been found. I am leaving them here at camp for safekeeping along with a few other belongings that I won’t be taking with me. The notebooks are a lifetime’s worth of knowledge, which I’m passing on the you. So reads an excerpt from the weatherworn letter discovered by nature enthusiast Teddy Keen on a recent trip to the Amazon, along with sketchbooks filled with details of extraordinary adventures and escapades, expedition advice, and survival methods, annotated with captivating colored-pencil drawings. It is thought that the sketchbooks were created for two young relatives of the author. Drawing on Teddy’s knowledge of the outdoors, the pages of the sketchbooks have been carefully transcribed for young readers, as they were originally intended. You’ll be transported by riveting adventure tales from around the globe, like being dragged off by a hyena in Botswana, surviving a Saharan dust storm, being woken by an intrepid emperor penguin in Antarctica, and coming face-to-face with a venomous bushmaster (one of the most dangerous snakes on the planet)—all told in lyrical prose and illustrations that wonder at the mysterious beauty of the wild. Having inspired the adventurous spirit in you, the Unknown Adventurer encourages you to set out on your own adventure with information on wild camping, rafting, exploration, and shelters and dens, plus tips on first aid and tying knots.
