Dal marzo 2020 la necessità del fare “DAD” ha messo d’emblée i docenti italiani a improvvisarsi “docenti a distanza”. Tolte le eccezioni, in massima parte è stato un lodevole tentativo di non interrompere il contatto con studenti e famiglie. Ma senza le premesse che una “formazione a distanza” richiede: una chiara progettazione dell’offerta formativa, la formazione dei soggetti chiamati in causa, l’attenzione a privacy e sicurezza degli utenti. Nella prima parte sono illustrate le premesse metodologiche, le normative e le linee organizzative in vista di future applicazioni. Con particolare attenzione al tema della privacy e dei regolamenti e misure di sicurezza opportune. La seconda parte è sviluppata attorno alle indicazioni che l’autore ha preparato tra marzo e aprile, in pieno lockdown, per i docenti dell’Istituto che dirige: 250 docenti di discipline di Liceo Scientifico SA e ITIS. Dove le tecnologie didattiche erano presenti, ma poco o nulla utilizzate per la DAD. Infine le indicazioni e suggerimenti per l’a.s. 2020/21 e oltre. Per non disperdere le esperienze nate, pensando ad applicazioni blended possibili. Puntando alle tecniche didattiche che meglio si prestano alla didattica a distanza.

Book excerpt: This book maps out a course through the methodological and technological innovations of internet-based training, setting the emphasis on the collaborative character of experiences of learning and on the interactivity of the virtual workshops. On the one hand, this underscores the possibilities offered by the net to make available educational modes centred on the social process that enables learning in an active manner, rather than on the centrality of contents to be passively transferred to the students. On the other hand, it also shows how in the virtual workshops it is possible to develop one's understanding of the phenomena that are the subject of learning as a result of the interaction with the phenomena themselves, reproduced in the computer, acting upon them and observing the consequences of one's own actions. The effect is to underline how this type of model of learning can help to overcome the technology gap between different countries and social groups (the digital divide) and also to make learning more accessible even to disabled students.

Per la prima volta dalla fine della Seconda Guerra Mondiale l’istruzione ha sperimentato un arresto su scala globale. In tale cornice, si è sviluppata come processo derivato e distinto dalle riflessioni sulla didattica a distanza, la didattica emergenziale: il tema era trovare le modalità per contrastare il deficit di apprendimento che si andava accumulando e che avrebbe avuto ricadute importanti e di lunga durata sui singoli e sulla collettività. La pandemia infatti, ancora oggi, fa registrare strascichi rilevanti sia per quanto riguarda l’impatto psico-emotivo come la depressione e la salute mentale, sia per quanto concerne gli aspetti più propriamente legati al learning loss e al rendimento scolastico. Seguendo tale ottica il testo affronta l’equivoco concettuale tra didattica a distanza e didattica emergenziale analizzando, tramite l’utilizzo di dati europei e mondiali inediti, le conseguenze che l’isolamento sociale ha determinato su ragazze e ragazzi in formazione.

The provision of knowledge, once a primary role of educators, is now devolved to an immense web of free and readily accessible sources. Consequently, educators need to redefine their role not just “from sage on the stage to guide on the side” but, as more and more voices insist, as “designers for learning”. The call for such a repositioning of educators is heard from leaders in the field of technology-enhanced learning (TEL) and resonates well with the growing culture of design-based research in Education. However, it is still struggling to find a foothold in educational practice. We contend that the root causes of this discrepancy are the lack of articulation of design practices and methods, along with a shortage of tools and representations to support such practices, a lack of a culture of teacher-as-designer among practitioners, and insufficient theoretical development. The Art and Science of Learning Design (ASLD) explores the frameworks, methods, and tools available for teachers, technologists and researchers interested in designing for learning Learning Design theories arising from findings of research are explored, drawing upon research and practitioner experiences. It then surveys current trends in the practices, methods, and methodologies of Learning Design. Highlighting the translation of theory into practice, this book showcases some of the latest tools that support the learning design process itself.
