Ill start with the most requested entree recipes I make. This one is a never-fail, great dinner for company that is simple, rich, hearty, and comfortingRheas chicken and noodles.

Download or read book XXL written by Neil Seeman and published by University of Toronto Press. This book was released on 2011-03-12 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Obese individuals are twice as likely to experience heart failure as non-obese people. More than eighty-five per cent of type 2 diabetes sufferers are overweight. And in the United States, obese and overweight individuals make up more than two-thirds of the adult population. Public health organizations and governments have traditionally tried to combat obesity through shame-inducing policies, which assure people that they can easily lose weight by eating right and exercising. This generic approach has failed, as it does little to address the personal, genetic, and cultural challenges faced by obese individuals. XXL directly confronts the global public health sector by proposing an innovative, alternative policy - the 'healthy living voucher' - for decreasing high calorie consumption and its related health problems. Neil Seeman and Patrick Luciani argue that many public health campaigns have made the problem of obesity worse by minimizing how difficult it is for individuals to lose weight. XXL challenges governments to abandon top-down planning solutions in favour of bottom-up innovations to confront the obesity crisis.

Download or read book Eimear Wolfsdottir written by Douglas Roff and published by Douglas Roff. This book was released on 2021-07-15 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Book Eimear Wolfsdottir resumes the story of Mattias Denson as he continues his quest to free Lesti women and Bjerne beasts of the Southern Kingdom from the servitude and historical abuse they suffered at the hands of their pagan overlords. Mattias is intent on freeing beasts and slaves, and creating a new society based on his governing philosophy, the Covenant. After the addition of witches from the fortress city of Manzil Al’ahzan, he eventually founds a new home, the Compound, in which he plants the seed of his new world order only to have it challenged from within and without. Eimear Wolfsdottir traces revelations of discord and betrayal of Mattias as it continues to unravel what the gods demand of him, and the multitude of challenges, betrayals, and characters that come in and out of his life. Mattias reveals himself as a great family man who is occasionally disappointed by those around him who depend upon him, but take advantage of his good nature. He wishes to have a family life, but his choice of women is always flawed. Nonetheless, he pursues his dreams doggedly, if not always successfully, seeking to find true love and acceptance. Eimear Wolfsdottir is an exciting chapter in the narrative Mattias Denson’s life journey, filled with strange new creatures, conflict, betrayal and enduring love. It is a rich tapestry in an alternate world, a medieval world filled with the clashes of social change as old-world evils are laid bare, and a new world of freedom and hope is born. Women adore him, men admire him, and his enemies fear him. But, too, is the long line of those who wish him dead. Enter this world, the world of conflict and struggle, of love won and lost, of friendship and betrayal, of fleeting victory and deadly defeat. Who will prevail, and what does victory look like? Eimear Wolfsdottir continues on this amazing journey in the world of Mattias Denson, one that has just barely begun, and is far from ended.

Download or read book The Mechanics of the Knee written by David C. Morley Jr., M.D. and published by Hillcrest Publishing Group. This book was released on 2017-01-10 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Mechanics of the Knee, Dr. David Morley offers a refreshingly common-sense and succinct approach to the growing problem of knee arthritis-and how to avoid knee-replacement surgery. "Many People have come to me over the years having no understanding of their knee arthritic problems," writes Dr. David Morley, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. "They fail prey to clinicians who often prescribe aggressive, costly, and sometimes dangerous therapeutic options, including knee replacement." And no one-man or woman, young or old, overweight or thin-is immune from knee pain. "If your job involves performing the same joint-stressing motions over and over," he points out, "or carrying weight, or both, you are also a candidate." In The Mechanics of the Knee, Dr. Morley offers a refreshingly commonsense and succinct approach to the growing problem of knee arthritis. He writes from his decades-long experience and professional knowledge, using a reader-friendly, often humorous style that makes his information particularly accessible and understandable for readers. In part, he contrasts a healthy knee to an arthritic knee, including noting the signs and symptoms that many of us tend to dismiss, and he offers scientific facts to educate us on treatment. His purpose is to help avoid knee arthritis, if possible, or to treat it conservatively when it is present-and for those who think surgery is the only option, Dr. Morley stresses, "The great majority of patients will show improvement with a non-operative approach." The Mechanics of the Knee is for anyone with knee pain, those who have risk factors for knee arthritis, or those who wish to learn more about the disease. It is, quite simply, the definitive book on knee arthritis. Book jacket.
Download or read book Thinfluence written by Walter Willett and published by Rodale Books. This book was released on 2014-05-13 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tackling a weight problem is often viewed as a personal responsibility that requires making healthier choices. The latest research, however, shows that external factors—from family and friendships to advertising and the workplace environment—make an equal, if not greater, contribution. Just look at the stats: A person's chance of becoming obese increases by 57 percent if a close friend is obese, 40 percent if a sibling is obese, and 37 percent if a spouse is obese. That's where Thinfluence comes in. Through a research-based examination of various social, environmental, and policy-based issues, renowned Harvard researchers Dr. Walter Willett and Dr. Malissa Wood examine how relationships, workplace, media, and other factors are affecting readers' weights. Thinfluence doesn't tell readers to ditch their friends and family, change jobs, or move to another state. It offers a clear three-step action plan—analyze, act, influence—for readers to identify hidden factors affecting weight, develop a personal toolbox to combat external effects, and become positive influences on others around them.
