Download or read book Synthetic Chemistry of Stable Nitroxides written by L. B. Volodarsky and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-11-22 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This important book is devoted to covering the synthetic aspects of nitroxide chemistry. The problems of application and physicochemical properties of nitroxides are considered in the context of the choice of necessary radical structures, convenient precursors, and strategy of the synthesis. The book offers comparisons of the concrete classes of nitroxides to help reveal the structural peculiarities and synthetic abilities of compounds of different classes. It also summarizes data on the magneto-structural correlation for the metal complexes with 3-imidazoline nitroxides and considers the ways in which the molecular design of 2- and 3-dimensional heterospin compounds is capable of magnetic phase transfer in a ferromagnetic state. The book will be a significant reference for chemists, biochemists, spectroscopists, and other users of nitroxides, spin labels, probes, and paramagnetic ligands.

Download or read book Current Challenges on Large Supramolecular Assemblies written by Georges Tsoucaris and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 421 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objectives of the ARW were: - identifying areas and highlighting approaches by which large Supramolecular (SM) Assemblies can be synthesised - reviewing and combining methods to characterise and analyse such assemblies. The first part of the ARW is devoted to reviewing synthetic achievements in recent years for several families of SM compounds, and to bringing out principles for crystal structure design, including novel quantum mechanical methods. Synthesis pertains both to the chemical synthesis of components for SM assembly, and to the subsequent assembly process based on complementarity and non-covalent interactions. The elaboration of multiple recognition "algorithms" concurrently employed (for instance, 1t-1t and hydrogen bonds) has recently reached a high degree of sophistication in the sequence: Molecules -7 Supermolecule -7 SM array -7 Crystal or Conglomerate Novel Large Assemblies comprise synthetic entities with molecular weight as high as 15000, and hybrid SM assemblies between synthetic molecules and DNA. Further developments are foreseen at a higher level of organisation, such as between supermolecules or with electromagnetic fields in photochemical processes. Creation of 2D Assemblies is now a powerful tool for creation and study of SM interactions. Moreover, much is to be learned in going from 2D to 3D assemblies in crystal growth and other forms of organisation such as micelles or liquid crystals. On the other hand, crystal engineering based on Molecular Recognition in the Crystal State leads to novel 2D assemblies occurring within predesigned crystal structures (hydrophobic organic clays or nanoporous networks).
Download or read book Metal Ligand Co operativity written by Gerard van Koten and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-03-29 with total page 451 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides researchers in the fields of organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis with an overview of significant recent developments in the area of metal-ligand cooperativity, with a focus on pincer architectures. The various contributions highlight the widespread impact of M–L co-operativity phenomena on modern organometallic chemistry and catalyst development. The development of efficient and selective catalytic transformations relies on the understanding and fine control of the various elementary reactions that constitutes a catalytic cycle. Co-operative ligands, which actively participate in bond making and bond breaking together to the metal they support, open up new avenues in this area. In particular, buttressing a weak or reactive metal-ligand bond by flanking coordinating arms in a pincer ligand design is proving a versatile strategy to access robust metal complexes that exhibit unusual and selective reactivity patterns.

Download or read book Synthetic Coordination and Organometallic Chemistry written by Alexander D. Garnovskii and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2003-04-25 with total page 568 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This reference describes standard and nonstandard coordination modes of ligands in complexes, the intricacies of polyhedron-programmed and regioselective synthesis, and the controlled creation of coordination compounds such as molecular and hn-p-complexes, chelates, and homo- and hetero-nuclear compounds. It offers a clear and concise review of modern synthetic techniques of metal complexes as well as lesser known gas- and solid-phase synthesis, electrosynthesis, and microwave and ultrasonic treatment of the reaction system. The authors pay special attention to o-hydroxyazomethines and their S-, Se-containing analogues, b-diketones, and quinines, among others, and examine the immediate interaction of ligands and metal salts or carbonyls.

This book was released on 2007-10-31 with total page 554 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage of progress in the major areas of chemical research. Written by experts in their specialist fields the series creates a unique service for the active research chemist, supplying regular critical in-depth accounts of progress in particular areas of chemistry. For over 80 years the Royal Society of Chemistry and its predecessor, the Chemical Society, have been publishing reports charting developments in chemistry, which originally took the form of Annual Reports. However, by 1967 the whole spectrum of chemistry could no longer be contained within one volume and the series Specialist Periodical Reports was born. The Annual Reports themselves still existed but were divided into two, and subsequently three, volumes covering Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry. For more general coverage of the highlights in chemistry they remain a 'must'. Since that time the SPR series has altered according to the fluctuating degree of activity in various fields of chemistry. Some titles have remained unchanged, while others have altered their emphasis along with their titles; some have been combined under a new name whereas others have had to be discontinued. The current list of Specialist Periodical Reports can be seen on the inside flap of this volume.
