Book Synthesis and Applications of Isotopically Labelled Compounds

Download or read book Synthesis and Applications of Isotopically Labelled Compounds written by David Hesk and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2024-02-04 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Synthesis and Applications of Isotopically-Labelled Compounds: Recent Advances and Emerging Topics reviews recent advances in the field of tritium, carbon-14, and stable isotope compound synthesis along with their analysis. The emerging field of the development of deuterated pharmaceuticals is also discussed, along with the application of isotopically labelled compounds in drug metabolism studies. There currently is no authoritative text for this area that presents a comprehensive guide to the field for the community, as well as newcomers, interested parties or collaborators who need to be able to communicate with the labeling groups. This book will fill this gap and provide a "one-stop shop" by having a comprehensive review of recent developments This book will cover details around the analytical chemistry in depth in Chapter 9 which will tie in the with synthesis reviews in the earlier chapters 1 through 4. Chapter 3 will also include a section on a new method of stable isotope analysis. In addition, Chapters 5, 7 and will cover the analytical chemistry aspects of these specific areas.

Book The Organic Chemistry of Isotopic Labelling

Download or read book The Organic Chemistry of Isotopic Labelling written by James R Hanson and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 2019-04-05 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The chemical synthesis of isotopically labelled compounds is a pre-requisite for many chemical, biochemical and medicinal investigations. The constraints imposed by the requirements for regiospecific labelling and, in some instances, the time-scale of the synthesis often lead to quite different synthetic strategies to those that are used for the unlabelled material. Whilst there are many specialist papers, reviews and long books devoted to particular isotopes, there is no currently available short introductory book devoted to the organic chemistry of isotopic labelling. The aim of this book is to introduce research workers to a variety of methods that have been used to achieve these synthetic labelling objectives before exploring a particular method in detail. It covers a number of different isotopes and the methods that have been used to introduce them into organic compounds. Labelling methods also provide useful undergraduate teaching examples of modern synthetic reactions and their stereochemical consequences using relatively simple substrates. The book will therefore have a wider appeal than just those involved in using isotopes in research such as environmental and pharmaceutical chemists as well as organic chemists.

Download or read book Synthesis and Applications of Isotopically Labelled Compounds Proceedings of the International Symposium Held in Innsbruck Austria on 17 21 July 1988 written by Thomas A. Baillie and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page 861 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stable isotopes (2H, 13C) are useful for studies on the metabolism of endogenous or exogenous compounds. GC/MS makes it possible to measure partial loss of 2H by exchange from polydeute-rated molecules and to detect compartmentation of precursors. Oxidoreduction can be studied by measurements of the loss of isotope from the carbon carrying the hydroxyl group. Label in the coenzyme can be corrected for by the use of mixtures of differently labelled compounds. Isotope effects can be used to study mechanisms in vitro and pathways in vivo. Labelling in vivo with 2H-substrates makes it possible to distinguish coenzyme pools. Topics discussed in this symposia include: Synthesis and Applications of Organic Compounds Labelled With Isotopic Hydrogen; Applications of Stable Isotopes and NMR Spectroscopy for In Vivo Studies; Radiation-Induced Reactions; Applications of Isotopically-Labelled Compounds in Clinical Research; Isotopes in Organic and Bio-Organic Reaction Mechanisms; New Techniques in Isotopic Analysis; Synthesis and Application of Organic Compounds Labelled With Iodine Isotopes; Synthesis of Isotopically-Labelled Compounds Via Organometallic Chemistry; Synthesis and Applications of Organic Compounds Labelled With Isotopic Carbon, Sulphur and Other Isotopes; The Use of Isotopically Labelled Compounds in Studies of Drug Metabolism, Disposition and Toxicity; Synthesis and Applications of Labelled Compounds in Positron Emission Trans-Axial Tomography; Applications of Radioactively-Labelled Compounds to In Vitro and In Vivo Research.(AW).
