Book excerpt: La presente recherche s'inscrit dans le cadre de l'economie du developpement qui a pour preoccupation essentielle la promotion economique et sociale des espaces relativement attardes afin d'homogeneiser les conditions d'existence au niveau planetaire. Sur la base de l'insuffisance des resultats des efforts de developpement deployes au cours des trois dernieres decennies, en vue de reduire les disparites economiques qui caracterisent l'economie mondiale, nous avons tente d'introduire l'idee d'autosuffisance comme base du developpement economique. A plusieurs egards, les espaces economiquement attardes constituent un champ d'investigation interessant. L'analyse des conditions historiques qui ont determine l'evolution de ces espaces, les termes dans lesquels le probleme du sous developpementeconomique se pose au niveau interne mais egalement au niveau des relations economiques international dans le cadre du vaste mouvement de globalisation qui appelle irremediablement une intensification des rapports internationaux et par consequent, une plus grande imbrication des interets des differents espaces qui composent la planete. C'est par le biais de la recherche de l'autosuffisance, en tant que condition primordiale d'implication des pays a leur emergence, que nous avons envisage l'integration effective des pays en developpement au marche mondial, cadre incontournable pour acceder aux progres economiques mondiaux dont ils ont ete relativement ecartes jusque-la. L'ajustement structurel constitue incontestablement un des elements marquants de l'evolution qu'a connue l'economie du developpement au cours des trois derniers decennies. En tant que processus, il est apparu comme une reponse a la crise de l'endettement au niveau mondial ; probleme auquel les pays en developpement sont confrontes avec une grande acuite. En effet, en proie a une crise financiere insurmontable, la plupart de ces pays ont du solliciter le concours et l'appui des institutions financieres internationales lesquelles sur la base d'une conditionnalite, acceptent d'apporter leur appui en vue de retablir les equilibres macrofinanciers qui garantissent la croissance et le developpment durables sur des bases plus saines. L'œuvre économique de Karl Marx contient, à notre avis, les bases appropriées d'une théorie déterministe des formations socio-économiques en général. Mais la théorie du capital de Karl Marx est basée sur l'hypothèse d'un modèle clos d'économie capitaliste achevée. Pour rendre compte des interactions réciproques des différentes économies capitalistes et de la nature des rapports internationaux, il est nécessaire de lever l'hypothèse du modèle clos, et de considérer l'ensemble des formations capitalistes développées et sous-développées, comme des sous-systèmes économiques ouverts, inégalement développés, articulés au sein d'un système capitaliste mondial unique, et entre lesquels circulent des flux de marchandises, de capitaux et d'informations. En adoptant ces hypothèses, le nouveau cadre d'analyse nous a permis : 1) d'élargir la portée théorique des principaux concepts du capital en les redéfinissant d'emblée à l'échelle de l'économie mondiale ; 2) de montrer que des transferts invisibles de valeur s'opèrent constamment entre formation sociales inégalement développées. Ces transferts forment l'enjeu réel des différends entre le Nord et le Sud. C'est pour en rendre compte théoriquement que nous avons créé le concept nouveau de surplus économique marchand. Book excerpt: This book is the result of a research project begun by the author in 1958 with the aim of answering two questions: First, what is the rationality of the economic systems that appear and disappear throughout history-in other words, what is their hidden logic and the underlying necessity for them to exist, or to have existed? Second, what are the conditions for a rational understanding of these systems-in other words, for a fully developed comparative economic science? The field of investigation opened up by these two questions is vast, touching on the foundations of social reality and on how to understand them. The author, being a Marxist, sought the answers, as he writes, 'not in philosophy or by philosophical means, but in and through examining the knowledge accumulated by the sciences.' The stages of his journey from philosophy to economics and then to anthropology are indicated by the divisions of his book. Godelier rejects, at the outset, any attempt to tackle the question of rationality or irrationality of economic science and of economic realities from the angle of an a priori idea, a speculative definition of what is rational. Such an approach can yield only, he feels, an ideological result. Rather, he treats the appearance and disappearance of social and economic systems in history as being governed by a necessity 'wholly internal to the concrete structures of social life.

Initié à ses débuts par des ONG de développement, ce mouvement rassemble une diversité d’acteurs sociaux (organisations associatives et syndicales, mouvements sociaux...), d’objectifs variés et de relations sociales multiformes convergeant vers l’altermondialisme qui se mobilisent dans les forums sociaux. Ces derniers constituent un espace de production, de reproduction et d’appropriation de l’espace public. La diversité des acteurs, des objectifs et des relations constituant l’altermondialisme nous amène à définir son identité comme étant plurielle et fluide. Par une approche sociologique qui se base sur l’analyse de ces acteurs à travers leurs rapports sociaux, l’étude a cherché à comprendre et à analyser les particularités de l’altermondialisme marocain. Cette approche permet de déterminer les formes de solidarités, les enjeux des altermondialistes, les adversaires et les alternatives proposées. Elle a, à travers l’analyse, mis aussi en exergue la lutte des acteurs altermondialistes, les méthodes de la contestation, le renouveau de l’action collective au Maroc et l’évolution dans le répertoire d’actions.
