Download or read book Super Gut written by William Davis and published by Hachette Go. This book was released on 2022-02-01 with total page 379 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bestselling author of the Wheat Belly books brings his next big, game-changing idea—how the human microbiome is evolving, and potentially wrecking, our health, and how we can fix it. Because of our highly processed diet, pesticides, and overuse of antibiotics, our guts are now missing so many of the good bacteria that we require to be healthy. As a result, many of us have lost control over our health, weight, mood, and even behavior. The ancient bacteria that keep our digestion moving have been dying, replaced by harmful microbes that don’t keep us physically and mentally fit. With cutting-edge research, Dr. Davis connects the dots between gut health and modern ailments. There are entire species of microbes that have disappeared, which creates health issues that were uncommon one hundred, or even fifty, years ago. The result is SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth), a silent and profound epidemic, which affects one out of three people and is responsible for an astounding range of human health conditions. Super Gut shows us how to eliminate bad bacteria and bring back the “good” bacteria with a four-week plan to reprogram your microbiome. This not only gets to the root of many diseases, but also improves levels of oxytocin (the bonding/happy hormone), brain health, anti-aging, weight loss, mental clarity, and restful sleep. Also included are more than forty recipes, a diet plan, and resources so you can pinpoint your gut issues, correct them, and maintain your long-term health and well-being.

Download or read book Reasons without Persons written by Brian Hedden and published by OUP Oxford. This book was released on 2015-06-18 with total page 219 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Brian Hedden defends a radical view about the relationship between rationality, personal identity, and time. On the standard view, personal identity over time plays a central role in thinking about rationality. This is because, on the standard view, there are rational norms for how a person's attitudes and actions at one time should fit with her attitudes and actions at other times, norms that apply within a person but not across persons. But these norms are problematic. They make what you rationally ought to believe or do depend on facts about your past that aren't part of your current perspective on the world, and they make rationality depend on controversial, murky metaphysical facts about what binds different instantaneous snapshots (or 'time-slices') into a single person extended in time. Hedden takes a different approach, treating the relationship between different time-slices of the same person as no different from the relationship between different people. For purposes of rational evaluation, a temporally extended person is akin to a group of people. The locus of rationality is the time-slice rather than the temporally extended agent. Taking an impersonal, time-slice-centric approach to rationality yields a unified approach to the rationality of beliefs, preferences, and actions where what rationality demands of you is solely determined by your evidence, with no special weight given to your past beliefs or actions.

Download or read book God Trinity Jesus written by George Joseph K PhD and published by GOD JESUS PROOF ACADEMY. This book was released on with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Herein is enunciated the most revolutionary theory in the history of theology, rescuing the Christian theology from the onslaught Judaism, Islam, atheism and modern liberal theology. The traditional objections to the Trinity are removed and disproved by a new Bible based definition of the Trinity. New explanations which throw light into the nature of Trinity and the deity of Jesus are provided throughout the discourse. The deity of Jesus is proved indisputably by proving that Yahushua or Jesus is the YEHOVAH of the Old Testament. One will realize that without deeper study of the basic concepts in theology debates between various religions and ideologies will continue to remain mere sound and fury without any progress. This book contains many innovative insights which can take the reader to new realms in understanding God and His plan. In this book one can easily discover the most precious and hitherto hidden truth, experiencing the simplicity of its analysis in the briefest possible manner.

Download or read book The Engaged Intellect written by John McDowell and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2013-09-02 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Engaged Intellect collects important essays of John McDowell. Each involves a sustained engagement with the views of an important philosopher and is characterized by a modesty that is partly temperamental and partly methodological. It is typical of McDowell to represent his own best insights either as already to be found in the writings of his heroes (Aristotle, Wittgenstein, Gadamer, and Sellars) or as inevitably emerging from a charitable modification of the views of those (such as Anscombe, Sellars, Davidson, Evans, Rorty, Dreyfus, and Brandom) subjected here to criticism. McDowell therefore develops his own philosophical picture in these pages through a method of indirection. The method is one of intervening in a philosophical dialectic at a characteristic junctureÑin which it is difficult to avoid the feeling that further progress is required. McDowell shows how progress is to be achieved by preserving what is most attractive in the views of those he is in conversation with, while whittling away their weaknesses. As he practices this method, what emerges through the volume is the unity of McDowellÕs own views. The combination of philosophical breadth with dialectical depthÑof intricate argumentative detail with overall philosophical coherenceÑmarks McDowell as one of the most compelling philosophers of our time.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While serious studies of the Bible’s rhetoric have been written for academic readers . . . few have attempted to examine the persuasiveness of speeches directly assigned to the biblical ‘God’ that so many believe in and worship . . . Further, no critic has yet tried to analyze how this God tries to invent and develop His arguments in the Bible as it has come down to us, or how this God arranges those arguments, or the styles He adopts to make them, and the roles memory and delivery play in His arguments . . . Eloquence Divine is one agnostic’s attempt at such a study. Th ose in the humanities, educators and their students, graduates and undergraduates, interested in rhetoric, persuasive language, religion, and the Bible are the ones most likely to be interested in this book’s explorations . . . in the hope that [these] readers, whatever their beliefs or theoretical preferences, can gain greater understanding of how one, a fairly popular version of God strives through His eloquence to affect the human audiences in the Bible. - From the Introduction
