Book Rollover Accident Reconstruction

Download or read book Rollover Accident Reconstruction written by Christopher D Armstrong and published by SAE International. This book was released on 2018-11-02 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Collision Reconstruction Methodologies - Volume 6B - The last ten years have seen explosive growth in the technology available to the collision analyst, changing the way reconstruction is practiced in fundamental ways. The greatest technological advances for the crash reconstruction community have come in the realms of photogrammetry and digital media analysis. The widespread use of scanning technology has facilitated the implementation of powerful new tools to digitize forensic data, create 3D models and visualize and analyze crash vehicles and environments. The introduction of unmanned aerial systems and standardization of crash data recorders to the crash reconstruction community have enhanced the ability of a crash analyst to visualize and model the components of a crash reconstruction. Because of the technological changes occurring in the industry, many SAE papers have been written to address the validation and use of new tools for collision reconstruction. Collision Reconstruction Methodologies Volumes 1-12 bring together seminal SAE technical papers surrounding advancements in the crash reconstruction field. Topics featured in the series include: • Night Vision Study and Photogrammetry • Vehicle Event Data Recorders • Motorcycle, Heavy Vehicle, Bicycle and Pedestrian Accident Reconstruction The goal is to provide the latest technologies and methodologies being introduced into collision reconstruction - appealing to crash analysts, consultants and safety engineers alike.

Book The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration s Rating System for Rollover Resistance

Download or read book The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration s Rating System for Rollover Resistance written by National Research Council (U.S.). Committee for the Study of a Motor Vehicle Rollover Rating System and published by Transportation Research Board. This book was released on 2002 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Explains that the static stability factor is an indicator of a vehicle's propensity to roll over, and that US government ratings for vehicles do not reflect differences in rollover resistance. This report states that the 5-star system should allow discrimination among vehicles and incorporate results from road tests that measure vehicle control.

Book Rollover Accident Reconstruction

Download or read book Rollover Accident Reconstruction written by Nathan A Rose and published by SAE International. This book was released on 2018-08-07 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “of the nearly 9.1 million passenger car, SUV, pickup and van crashes in 2010, only 2.1% involved a rollover. However, rollovers accounted for nearly 35% of all deaths from passenger vehicle crashes. In 2010 alone, more than 7,600 people died in rollover crashes.” Rollover accidents continue to be a leading contributor of vehicle deaths. While this continues to be true, it is pertinent to understand the entire crash process. Each stage of the accident provides valuable insight into the application of reconstruction methodologies. Rollover Accident Reconstruction focuses on tripped, single vehicle rollover crashes that terminate without striking a fixed object. Topics featured in this book include: • Analysis methods through various accident phases, including advanced simulation • Vehicle event data recorder usage • Occupant ejection during rollover crash The goal of this title is to break down the various phases of a rollover crash to analyze each stage for use in the reconstruction process - to the greater understanding of crash analysts, consultants and safety engineers alike.

Book Compression of an array of similar crash test simulation results

Download or read book Compression of an array of similar crash test simulation results written by Stefan Peter Müller and published by Logos Verlag Berlin GmbH. This book was released on 2022-02-08 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Big data thrives on extracting knowledge from a large number of data sets. But how is an application possible when a single data set is several gigabytes in size? The innovative data compression techniques from the field of machine learning and modeling using Bayesian networks, which have been theoretically developed and practically implemented here, can reduce these huge amounts of data to a manageable size. By eliminating redundancies in location, time, and between simulation results, data reductions to less than 1% of the original size are possible. The developed method represents a promising approach whose use goes far beyond the application example of crash test simulations chosen here.
