Comparer leurs pratiques par rapport aux recommandations actuelles et aux auttres régions de métropole, afin d'identifier d'éventuelles difficultés à améliorer par la suite. PATIENTS ET METHODES : Un questionnaire a été adressé par internet aux médecins généralistes du secteur Ouest de l'île. Il s'articule en trois parties. La première partie précise le profil du médecin interrogé et la place du suivi de grossesse dans son activité quotidienne. La deuxième partie concerne le suivi d'une grossesse normale ; la troisième partie, le diabète gestationnel et l'hypertension artérielle gravidique. RESULTATS : 88 médecins généralistes ont participé à notre enquête (soit un taux de réponse de plus de 56 %) avec 68 % d'hommes et un âge médian de 48,4 ans. Ils semblent particulièrement impliqués dans le suivi de grossesse : 99 % des médecins suivent des femmes enceintes, dans 61 % des cas, entre 10 et 20 grossesses par an, et pour 84 % d'entre eux, au-delà du deuxième trimestre. En ce qui concerne le suivi d'une grossesse normale ou compliquée d'un diabète gestationnel ou d'une HTA gravidique, les médecins sont souvent en accord avec les recommandations actuelles et les résultats de notre enquête sont assez proches de ceux d'études menées dans d'autres régions de métropole. Les principales difficultés rencontrées concernent : la prévention des anomalies de fermeture du tube neural, la mise à jour du frottis et l'examen des seins en début de grossesse, les examens biologiques du sixième mois, la proposition systématique d'un entretien prénatal précoce et les examens de dépistage du diabète gestationnel. CONCLUSION : Ainsi des progrès restent à faire pour améliorer le suivi de grossesse en médecine générale à La Réunion. Cette amélioration pourrait passer par le réseau périnatal REPERE avec notamment, le projet SUPREME qui devrait être mis en place d'ici quelques mois.
